Why is it so wrong to be chauvanistic, but OMG SO COOL AND TRENDY!!!!1! to be feminst?
Why is that it's wrong for a man to hit a woman, but if the chick hits the guy, it's considered cute?
Why can girls get away with calling guys every sexist name under the sun but if a man dare say the word chick (ZOMG!!!1!! NOT CHICK!!!! *gasp*) he is called a sexist, and that is not ok?

Okay, first of all, "chauvinist" doesn't mean "sexist". It means "Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind" or "radical patriot". And if you don't know why that's wrong, I'm sorry, but you need a reality check.

Because they're different types of hitting. When "the chick hits the guy" in a "cute" way, it's a playful little slap accompanied by a blush and an "Oh stop it, sweetie!" Very rarely will the man feel any pain at all. A man hitting a woman would be wrong because it would be abuse. Women can most definitely abuse men, and it's really a shame because male abuse victimes are pretty much ignored. All of the groups that exist are for battered women, and usually they are only helpful to women who have been abused by men, not other women. I agree with you, it has a lot of flaws.

As for the last one...gee, I dunno. Why were women oppressed and enslaved for thousands of years? Why are there women today who still live that life? Why are there people who actually believe that women cannot think for themselves, that we're just here to be breeding machines? Okay, I'm obviously biased here. But I think it depends on the context. It would be sexist if my boss, my lawyer, or some random guy called me a "chick" in a demeaning way. But it would be fine if my husband said it, in an endearing way. By the way, what are these horrible sexist names that girls have been calling you? All I've ever said is "Gah, males." and rolled my eyes, which I honestly don't see a problem with. Men get on my nerves, as I'm sure that women get on yours.

Oh, and by the way. Feminist does not mean that the female is better than the man, it means that we want to be EQUAL. And I'm not a feminist to be trendy (I don't like trends, I don't follow them.), I'm a feminist because I want to be treated like a human.

No, it was made up for the movie. However, most Wiccans and Pagans create their own names and images for their Deity or Deities anyway, so it's perfectly acceptable to make such a thing up. However, that movie is not a real representation of witchcraft; it's just a fictional story. =)

Buy tofu in the organic section of the supermarket. My dad just fries it on a frying pan, but I'm sure there are other ways to prepare it.

This is actually a REALLY important question. Well, for me anyway. I know that this doesn't match up to scuicide and stuff, but i rate 5's for nearly any answer.
I don't mind if you say that this picture is not a good one. As long as your honest, you get a 5. I would love to have answers that explain how that picture may or may not be good.

I am Thai. 24 years old. Male.

I have been talking to this girl for about 2 months. We have a lot in common and seems like she enjoys talking to me as she laughs at my joke (she sais I am so funny). she always tells me about her stuffs like her works, friends,ect. Most of the times I am the one who call her for a talk almost everyday (I also text to her everyday). She calls me sometimes, but, recently, she asked me like: "why didn't you call me yesterday?" or "Why you call me so late? I'm waiting". I went out with her 2 times within last 2 weeks. Both times were great (just as I thought). I will go out with her again on next week. Today, this morning, she texted to me like: "Thanks for everything you have done for me and for good feelings you have been given to me". These are what happening now.
Let me take you back to 8 months earlier. I met her and I called her just like what I'm doing now. At the time she had boyfriend(s). She talked to me nicely and also with another guys. I think that time she was really flirting to me without thinking of any serious relationship. I asked her to go out several time, but she did not. After I paused talking to her for 5 months, she called me and told me that she broke up with her boyfriend. Thereafter, I have been talking to her again since then.
My questions are:
1) Does she really like me this time or just flirt to me again?
2) What does the SMS mean(Thank you for...)? It sounds like she wants to break up our relationship to me. It really bothers me.
Please advice me. I appreciate for all suggestions. Thanks.

I don't think she's serious. At all. I mean, she flirted with you while she had a boyfriend, possibly more than one. That right there should tell you something about her character--what if she were your girlfriend, and she flirted with other guys? Everything she's done so far shows that she's basically just playing with you. My advice is to end everything with her, because I think you're going to get hurt in the end. You need to find someone better, someone who isn't going to fool around with your emotions. Good luck! ;-)

does anyone know if Garnier Fructis Long & Strong shampoo and conditioner system actually works? does it really make your hair stronger so it can grow longer or do they just say that so you will buy it? i'm looking to grow my hair out longer and i heard about this shampoo and was wondering if it really works.

I don't know about that particular product, but I have tried other Garnier Fructis stuff and it works very well. A lot of it probably is marketing--nothing can make your hair perfect--but it won't hurt to try it out, right? If you want to make your hair longer, you should have it cut atleast once a year. Sounds strange, but cutting it makes it healthier and that makes it grow.

It's different for everyone. Personally, I think you should try masturbating. It's good to know your own body, how it feels and how you react, before sharing it with another person. If you don't want to, that's fine, it's just what I personally think is best. Don't worry about it at all! You'll probably be pretty tense the first time, but it'll get easier. Oh, and make sure you're absolutely ready. If you question it at all, even for a second--you're NOT ready.

Well, It's really not at the forefront of my mind right now, Byzantine history is, but I am debating my religious beleifs from time to time. I am floating somewhere between a Deist, an Agnostic and an Atheist. Something that doesn't have some sort of personality cult at its center. I enjoy other peoples' opinions on subjects like this. I can handle being preached to if it's something that you believe, but what I most want is something well-reasoned. I would like it if some people who sport some religious affiliation to tell me why theirs makes sense and why that is something someone like myself should believe. Thanks for your participation - I hope the rest of your day is a blast!

First, some background information. My mother was raised Protestant and became Atheist, my father was raised Catholic and became weird. I was raised nothing; I knew what my parents thought of God, and I knew what other kids thought. My parents brought me to a few different churches, just so that I would have the experience. Looking back on it, I think it would have been cool if they brought me to a temple or something, too, but there probably weren't any in my area.

Anyway, it took me a while to get where I am now, and I'm not even sure about that. There are things I like about Buddhism, Paganism, Christianity, Judaism, etc. It was confusing for a while, because I thought I had to be something. But you don't. Because no matter what my religion is, my morals don't change. I think it's morals that matter more than religion. I have my own personal beliefs and set of morals, and they matter to me--and ONLY me. I don't like getting mixed in with organized religion too much, because people just assume that you agree with them on everything. My philosophy is pretty much "Screw it." =D I'm open to all different religions, but in the end, I'm just myself.

Oh, and thank you. My day WILL be a blast, because it happens to my birthday, and it's for once sunny. I hope you have a fantastical day yourself.

Try finger nail polish remover. I've used it to get permanent marker off of wood, tape off of an mp3 player (please don't ask), and many other things. I don't see why it wouldn't work with sharpies and legos. =) You probably have some in your house and if you don't, you can find it at the grocery store. Just pour some into the cap, dip a cotton ball into it, and then scrub the legos with said cotton ball.

Does anyone know of any good bands/song I can put on my iPOD? I'm getting tired of all the bands I have. I'm mostly into indie/rock/acoustic/some ska/oldies.

I like Death Cab, The Postal Service, The Audition, The Higher, Panic!, Further Seems Forever, Dashboard Confessional, Hidden in Plain View, Taking Back Sunday etc. Preferably bands that you know and that aren't on the radio.

The Rasmus is good. Also, I tend to like a lot of foreign music, mostly Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. It's fun to try new types of music, too. Go to the music section of Barnes and Noble, and grab a random CD. You never know what you may find ;-)

Because they're thirteen-year-old guys. They don't know what they want. Their idea of "beautiful" is what they found snooping around on a porno website. Don't worry about it. Be beautiful for yourself first...the guys will start noticing in a few years. Girls mature faster, so right now the guys you know are still little boys. Some of them probably do think you're pretty, but are too nervous to tell you. "Maybe she'll take it the wrong way and sue me for sexual harassment!" they might think, or "If my friends find out that I told a girl she was pretty, they'll think I'm a loser!" So just wait it out for a while--you don't want to waste your time with little boys anyway.

Why is it that so many girls freak out about their boobs being too small? I see so many questions about girls who think that because they have small boobs, they won't get any guys. That is not true at all.

But that really isn't the issue, I guess. I myself have quite the chest. I'm a 38 D, and still growing somewhat. It is painful sometimes, especially around periods, and frustrating, because it is near impossible to find shirts that fit, or decent bras.

So when I see these girls who think their lives are over because they are 16 and they aren't Jessica Rabbit, it makes me angry. They have no idea what larger chested women have to deal with! To me, it seems they have it easy. They don't have to worry about aching backs, or not being able to wear a beautiful shirt or dress because it is too tight at the bust, or too loose everywhere else.

How can I keep from being so angry with them? I know that they don't understand, and I know it isn't worth fussing over, but I just can't help it.

I know how you feel. I'm a bigger person, overweight actually--but everything I eat is healthy, I don't over-eat, and I exercise. I see this thin-as-a-stick girls who are LAZY and eat whatever they want...and they have the nerve to say, "I'm so fat."

Honestly, I blame society. Look around you. There's a lot of pressure on girls to fit into a certain role. I don't blame them for thinking that their lives are over if they don't have big boobs, since today's teenagers have watched more TV than any other generation, and this is the message that TV is sending to us, as well as magazines, etc. I just think these girls need more confidence, and to look around in the REAL world once in a while. But all teenage girls are going to complain about how they look. It's a fact of life. I'm sure you do it too, so when you hear just sigh and shake your head and move on. When you see it on an advicenators question, just put it out of your mind--people online DON'T matter. =)
