Hey! My name is Lindsay. I'm seventeen, and a senior at Arcadia High School in Arizona. I'm relatively shy, but as soon as you get to know me, I think I'm fairly obnoxious. I've been part of Advicenators for a while, but I took a break, and now I'm trying to remember how I did everything. I'm still getting used to the advertisements, but that will wear off soon.


I'm extremely into music. I'm into little indie bands, as well as old school Green Day, The Beatles, and other punk and classic rock. I play the cello, and I really am starting to like classical music more and more. It really doesn't suck. You should listen sometime.


I try to give fair advice. Only a few times do I ever get responses in which the asker dosen't like what I say. I really like to read relationships stuff, which works well, because there's more Love Life and Relationships questions on here than anything else. If you have a problem, feel free to ask me a private question.

where can i listen to whole songs for free i no yahoo.com and aol.music.com but what others

iTunes has radio. You can't pick the songs, but you can pick what type of music you want to listen to. You might hear something new and like it.

There's also Yahoo Launchcast. I used to love this. You can customize what you listen to by putting in artists that you like, and it will give you reccomendations, and play the stuff you already like.

With unprotected sex it's always possible, but highly improbable in your case.

Because you started your period shortly after, the lining of the uterus is being shed, and it takes much longer than 5 hours for sperm to even reach the uterus. So if the sperm does make it up there, there's no egg for them to go to, and they will just die.

It's a known fact that guys don't go out with girls who aren't skinny, gorgeous, and flawless which is really unfair because i happen to be none of the above. Basically, I NEEEED a boyfriend, like its beyond just wanting to be with somebody it's a need to have that special somebody. Sure, there's friends and whatnot and they're important too (don't get me wrong) but sometimes you want somebody that can be more than just a friend to you. It's frustrating because some girls can get a boyfriend in a split second without even having to blink. people like me on the other hand have to sit back and watch these people and envy them while they work their charm. So what can I do to be more like them? To be glamorous and amazing so that guys will want me as much as they want those other girls? PLEASE HELP.

It IS NOT a known fact that boys don't go out with girls who are those things.
If that's what you think, you've been looking at the wrong boys. Those boys are shallow.

I know plenty of people that don't NEED boyfriends. You can go on with your life just fine without one. You seem pretty cool to me, asking people on Advicenators, using good vocabulary, not sucking with punctuation like most of the others on here.

I think the best thing you can do is to be yourself. Boys who are worthy of being your boyfriend will honor that, and think you're just as, if not more, glamorous than those other girls.
Be a good person, but really, be you.

Last year, there was this very complicated situation, that I won't explain, but basically there were two girls, and I was one of them. He chose the other one over me, because of popularity. Now, from what I hear from friends and his facial expressions, he regrets it. Since that situation last year, he's been, what I call, "depressed". He used to be known for his smiling.

Now, he hardly ever smiles or has fun. I don't know what's going on personally, but I don't think he was abused, or his parents died or anything.

Now, every time I see him, he looks like he's in pain. Not physically, but mentally.

I would ask, but our relationship is very broken, we can barely even talk to each other, without it all flooding back.

But I feel something, every time we look at each other. It's probably nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't agree with Jam at all about this.
You should talk to him directly. As much as that may be hard, I think you have to say something. Once you start talking you could be friends again, and who knows, after that, you could even be something more.

You could start with a "Hey, I noticed you don't smile as much. What's up?"
And as you two get closer he'll start to open up again.

i just started dating this guy about 6 days ago and i dont like him anymore. the truth is i dont like him because hes like really fat and ugly. plus we never get to see eachother beacuse he lives about 45 minutes away from me. i want to break up with him but im not a mean person at all (although it does seem like it cus of the reason i sont like him) i dont know why i went out with him in the 1at place. ive only seem him once and i dont know when im gonna see him again. but i just need good reasons to break up with him without being mean. i need more than just we dont get to see eachother much but... i do feel bad by saying that so please dont make comments that are mean to me.. im not a mean person at all.

Well you've only been dating for 6 days, so I really don't think that he's going to be hurt by your wanting to dump him. I think you'll be able to say something young like "I don't think we really work. I never get to see you, and I don't think this is a healthy relationship."

Please help me out!! My parents got me an ipod but they said they werent paying for the songs. So i had to get them off limewire...But i have no clue on how to get them on the ipod can any one help me at all?

Usually you can copy/paste songs from your Limewire Library to your iTunes Library. Hold down shift while you select all of your songs, and then drag them into iTunes. After you've selected all of your songs, you could also right click, and copy/paste them into your iTunes library. iTunes is pretty smart, usually the songtitles and other stuff is in there for you.

Between friends and mates. Yes. I know the feeling. Maybe Jack/Nick is having trouble relating you you and Kayla because you're his age, and are girls. Maybe he relates to Sasha better cause she has more knowledge then the average Joe Schmoe that's your age. Then again, maybe Jack/Nick is avoiding you and Kayla because he likes you (both) and can't talk to you cause he's nervous.

Tell Jack/Nick how you feel about how he's falling away from you. Maybe he'll realize what he's doing to your relationship.

my friend and i like the same guy. i knew him first and ive liked him since the day i met him. he doesnt go to school with us but we both know him now. i havent talked to him or seen him in about a year.. but for some reason i still think about him a lot. well now i found out that she knows him.. and that they are really good friends. now since shes friends with him im sure im going to be seeing him sometimes. i know she likes him because shes told me. would it be wrong for me to try to get him to like me over her... or would i be being a bad friend? ... do i even have a chance if i try? please help me

Well, fighting with a friend over something as stupid as a boy (no offense) is well, just plain stupid. Since you "saw him first" I think you should at least try to be friends with him...as soon as you get comfortable enough with him, tell him how you feel, and he'll be open about his feelings to you. At this point, if he says no, don't be crushed. At least you are still friends with him right?

Ever since I was in first grade my mother made me take piano, which I hated so I dropped it in the 5th grade. Since the third grade, I have taken viola, and I am so-so about it, (I'm in seventh grade) because I have played it for so long I don't want to let it go. My mother wants me to quit strings and take chorus next year, because she thinks I have potential there, but I don't want to do that because I feel like I let too many things I could have been good at go. I recently gave my mother a deal- let me start guitar lessons, and then I will totally drop strings and take chorus next year. My mother refused, and I think she did that because she thinks I can't be committed to anything, even though I love guitar to death and I would truly love it instead of being so-so about it like strings. Guitar is just such a lovely instrument that I would be so extremely happy to learn to play it. I love chorus too, but I don't want to make my mother think I'm not committed by jumping out of strings. What can I do? How can I prove I'm worthy of guitar and that I'm actually committed to it?

Well, me playing the cello, I have to go with you by staying in strings. Although I don't really think you should...it's like a "Yay! Another string player!" type of feeling. Don't go by my advice on this one.

Can you take chorus AND strings? I'm asking because I can, and my mom had the same deal with it as yours. I think ALL music is beneficial.

Hmm, I guess if you were to drop anything, what would you pick? Say you could only play 2 instuments....(singing being one of them...heheh lol) Do you like chorus or strings more? Try asking her if you can do two musical things. Thats what I did.

Ok Hey I have this new boyfriend and I am starting to be able to talk to him but not without my friends around and I gave him my number and I am so scared what if I don't know what to say and last is this normal for my age which is 12 to be shy and can't start convos with your new BF

The most important thing to have in a relationship is either trust, or actually being able to talk to him! Since you've already become boy/girlfriend, you shouldn't have to worry about him declining you so much. If you're going out...what do you have in common? Talk about stuff like that. Honestly, I don't think that 12 year olds should be going out...I'm not saying you don't have to not go out, or I'm also not saying that I didn't want to. Sure I wanted to go out with someone, but I never actually did. It's easier to have a boyfriend that you've already made friends with; That way you can still talk to him. So, all in all, I'm waiting for a close friend to get closer with. I'm not saying you should dump your boyfriend, just try to become something like friends with benefits for a while. That way it gives you time to share intrests.

so me and my sister were messing aroudn with out hair one day and we decided to trim mine because we were bored but she ended up cutting a few inches off.. and i want it to grow back but idk how to make it grow faster or like if theres a shampoo i can use or something

I know it sounds weird, but there's a shampoo that designed for horses that makes your hair grow faster. It is supposed to work on people too, but I've never tried it. If you get teen magazines, try looknig in the back ads. I've seen a few advertisements for shampoos.

ok... I've been having this dream about a girl I used 2 like... & I think I'm over her... but were still friends & I've heard she likes me now... but back to what my dream is...

~I just lie away & can't sleep & I'm thinking about that girl & how she died & all... & so I just lie there & think about her... & then I decide to commit suicide... & in my suicide not, I left it to her best friend, says the lyrics from Gloomy Sunday (a song) & then durring my dream I kill myself~

& what I realised is that this dream & whats going on is exactly what goes on in that song "Gloomy Sunday" & ironically enough, when I 1st had this dream it was on a Sunday... & its now Friday & I've had it 3 times since last Sunday... & i'm just wondering whats going on! & I'm really freaked out! or is it that, that song is just playing in my head & I just have that dream thing like playing the story through my head only with people in my life? & I'm really lost & confused...

& a little bit more about the dream, it takes place afew years in the future like its GOING to happen or something

& I'm just really freaked out... so can someone tell me what this is about?

I think that deep down, you still like her. That you don't know it, your body does. If it's like you can't control it then I think that that is definetly the case. Maybe your body thinks that if she dies, you should die too. Apperantly you love/like her that much...go with your heart on this one.

Maybe he really really likes you. Like a super super lot, so he won't say "like" cause he loves you. Maybe he is embarassed of you, cause you're they girl every guy wants. Who knows. =]

You should tell your friend how you really feel about this guy. Tell her it made you feel bad when she pinched his butt, and that you really do have feelings for him. And then you can tell Chris that you have feelings for him. Maybe he'll have some back!

I got highlights about 3-4 months ago. My mom said i can only get them done by the hairdressers every 6 months because its expensive. But it looks really bad now. Is there any product I can buy thats like a do-it-yourself highlighting kit?

I like to use the CLAIROL Herbal esscences highlights. They're easy, and they stay for a while. And you don't have to wear one of those pokey head caps.
