thanks you advanceā„
When it comes to a situation like this, there is ussually a deep reason why she is doing this. It could be because of the attention she gets from the boys, which could make her feel really good and in control, or she could just like to be a tease with guys, I really couldn't tell you because I don't know her. Anyways, it might not be best for you to confront her. She could see it as insulting or just plainly take it the wrong way, when you ddn't even mean to upset her. The best thing to do would be to stay back on this one, UNLESS, somthing happens where a guy she teases with gets false ideas of what she is trying to tell him. If this happens, it would probably be best to tell a parent or an adult you really trust, just to protect her from getting hurt. If you tell her to stop though right now, she might take it the wrong way and become angry at you. It's never fun to lose a good friend, so I would just save yourself the grief at the moment. Wish you best of luck in your situation! Dave :)
Okay let me tell you my situation. I'm 5'3, 110lbs.
I know I sound quite thin but I'm storing fat on my stomach (ESPECIALLY on my love handles, which in turn makes me look big when looking at me from the front or back) I'm also storing fat on my back (which I find gross).
Here's what I want to do:
- Tone my arms, legs & butt (hopefully something that's going to make my butt muscles bulkier, therefore making my butt bigger, not smaller)
- Lose stomach fat & lovehandles
- Lose back fat and maybe work on my back muscles too.
(I know you can't spot reduce fat, by the way). I don't have access to a gym or to any weights or anything so bare that in mind.
Anyone know some exercises I can do (other than crunches, I'm doing those anyway) and foods I should stay away from?
To start off your plan, take in the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to build muscle while you are burning fat, as it is likewise impossible to burn fat if you are trying to build muscle. Burning fat involves vigorous cardiovascular exercise, and a reduction of calories and carbohydrates that you intake, while bulking up to build muscle involves little to no cardiovascular exercise, and high calorie, high carbohydrate and high protein intake. However, since your planning to tone your muscle, this can be accomplished while doing cardiovascular exercises to burn the body fat. Running is quite possibly the absolute best cardiovascular exercise available. If you would like, you can start out doing walking shorter distances, and with time your body will naturally adapt, making it possible to handle higher speeds and longer distances. In terms of cardiovascular exercise to burn fat, try to do anything that makes your heart rate increase, gets you breathing heavily, and gets your body sweating. Boxing is also an idea to keep in the back of your mind if running gets dull after time. If you have the money, a heavy bag is a great investment that you can access from your home, which will provide you with a great workout. As far as dieting goes, to burn fat, stick to low carbohyrates in your foods, and low fat. Each carbohydrate contains 4 calories per gram, as each gram of fat contains 9 calories. So all in all, watching your calories will tell you how many carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are in your food. To truly burn fat, you should be taking in less calories then you are burning off. Some foods you should really eat regularly (as you probably know) are fruits and vegetables. Vegetables such as celery are actually known as "negative calorie" foods, and actually burn calories when you consume it. Soda and sugary juices should rarely be consumed, if ever, which also includes rarely drinking diet soda too. Most diet drinks contain aspartame, which literally has a druglike effect on your brain telling you that what you are drinking is sweeter. If you take a sip of diet soda and eat a peice of lemon immediatley after the sip, the lemon will taste sweet. So what does it all mean? Diet sodas actually make you CRAVE more sweet tasting food and drink, which will lead to you being even fatter. Plus, aspartame is actually considered toxic after it reaches 98 degrees because it undergoes a chemical process, turning it into formaldehyde. Not somthing that i want in my stomach anytime soon. :\ When you are trying to burn fat, it is said to be 80% dieting that leads to body fat loss. As long as you diet properly, you won't need to kill yourself trying to exercise incredibly, although it definitley will help you alot. If you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. Really wish you alot of luck! Dave :)
HI! Okay so I am in desperate need of some money. Im currently trying to get a part time job (im 16/f btw) Ive heard of getting paid on the internet for surveys and adsence from google. Well ive tried both and NOTHING!! Do you know a productive way to get ALOT of money online? Idc what it is. I just need money coming in. Getting a job is soo hard for me right now. I just want money! Thankyou
Well, honestly I can't tell you too much about making money online. I've never really tried or researched it, and I don't know anyone who has done so either :\ The only way I can think of making real money online is creating somewhat of your own website, and having people join. Just like Tom from Myspace, he had an idea of making a place where friends could come together just to socialize, and now hes a multi-millionaire because of it! A way like that though might take alot of time, effort, and possibly alot of equipment and programs to do so :\ As far as I know though, that's the only way i've heard of making money online, and that's a way that can earn you MAD money! Maybe someday you will create a very popular site, who knows? Get luck making money for yourself, i wish you best! :) Dave
I hear that sodium is really bad for you but sometimes I hear people say that this food is really good for you because of the sodium. Is sodium good or bad? =/
Just like any edible thing in this world, too much is not good for you, even vitamins such as vitamin A & D, and minerals such as iron, zinc, etc. The average person's daily needs of sodium should not exceed 2,400 mg per day. One thing that we don't realize though is that we ingest MASSIVE amounts of sodium from day to day, even using it as a seasoning (table salt). Some small steps from preventing going over on your sodium limits are not adding table salt to any food, espcially meat, which already contains large amounts of sodium. Take it easy on seasonings such as salad dressings and soy sauce. One serving of soy sauce contains a whooping 47% of your daily value.. that's about two tablespoons. It just isn't worth to use sauce's such as that. Sodium is probably the one nutrient that we don't realize and moniter how much we take in. Making small observations though such as how much table salt and sauce is on your foods can help you keep track of how much you ingest. So to sum your question up, sodium IS good for you and Is necessary for the body to function properly, but too much of sodium IS NOT good for you, in any means. Hope that helps you out! Dave
How da hell do you get thin thighs?????
How da hell do you get a flat stomach with a nice shape???
I dont wanna go to some crazy diets.. [they dont ever work for me]
And i love love love eating.. it makes me happier :)
I think i have an eating diorder though. I eat whenver i see something good in frnt of my face all the time...! Which i think is making me fatter and fatter..
But my main question is at the top of thid question
To correct some statements said below, dieting is most definitley more important than exercise when losing weight. Of course exercise is important, but proper dieting is said to be 80% of losing body fat and defining your body's muscle mass. If you want to start shedding some body fat, you most definitley have to eat better. If you eat to make yourself feel good, that is called emotional eating. It's all about self control and determination as well. You must be strong enough to tell yourself, "No, this probably would not be good for my body" and you must put the food down when that is said. Exercise actually increases the flow of beta endorphins in your brain, a substance which actually makes you feel better. Try putting in a great workout one day and see how it makes you feel afterwards. That is one way people cope with emotional eating. To answer your first question, everybody's body interprets fat differently. Some people easily get alot on their thighs, were other people barely get any in that region. It's all about proper dieting and a good exercise regime that is fun for you and works for you. Try somthing as simple as cutting down on your carbohydrates and calories (things such as junk food, white breads, etc.) Soda is a huge enemy when trying to lose weight. It contains ridiculous amounts of sugar that easily build fat, especially on people with slow metabolisms. Stick mainly to water, possibly one of the best things that you can give your body. I'm not saying at first you have to get rid of ALL the junk foods, just do little by little baby steps into weight loss. Once you start to see results from a reduction in your bad foods, you will gradually begin to decrease the amount you eat, just because you will LIKE what you see. To burn fat, perform cardiovascular exercises such as running, or anything that makes your heart rate increase, and gets you breathing heavy. Once again, gradually begin to go into cardiovascular exercise as well. Do a nice-paced, one mile walk, then the next time you do it, increase your speed even if it's just a tiny bit. If you improve on your exercise and eating habits, i guarantee that you will begin to shape your body. One simple rule of thumb to live by is "eat to live, don't live to eat." Just repeat that to yourself before every single peice of food you intake, and think whether your eating this for enjoyment, or for energy. If you have any further specific questions, please don't hesitate at all to ask me. I really wish you lots of luck! :) Dave
19/f - I am in serious need of advice. :(
I've been hanging out with my older brother's friends for about 3 years now. My brother is 25 and his friends range from 21-27.
One of my brother's friends has a New Years Eve party every year, and I always go. I've always liked one of his friends, "B", who is 24 now and we've finally got to know each other. I really think he likes me as well. :]
Well, 2 days after the party, "B" and some of my brother's other friends asked me to hang out. It was already 11:30PM and my mom gave me a real hard time about going, but I ended up going anyway.
After that, I decided to tell my brother and dad about "B". My brother is, I'm guessing, upset with me about hanging out with "B" and hasn't spoken to me since the 5th. My dad is uncomfortable with "B" being 24. My mom is really upset about the whole thing as well because she thinks me hanging out with "B" is gonna ruin everything.
The thing is, me and "B" really have a lot in common and I really like him a lot. I've secretly hung out with him three times since then, because if I told my family where I was going, they probably wouldn't let me.
I've told practically EVERYONE I know about the situation and nobody thinks it's a big deal AT ALL. Just my family.
I have no idea what to do. I just got done talking to my mom about some things, and she basically hates me right now. She said I'm turning into someone she doesn't like. But it's like, I'm 19 and it's my life, why can't I just do what I want and date who I want?
This really isn't fair. I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore, and I'm gonna see "B" when I want. Why are the only people who don't approve have to be my family? Please help. It's got to the point where I doubt it matters what I say, they're never gonna be happy with it, so why not just do what I want and show them that nothing bad is going to happen and that they're blowing this way out of proportion? I don't know, PLEASE HELP. :'[
You are not a child anymore. You're a fully grown, 19 year old female who deserves to make her own choices, especially who she wants to date and share experiences in her life with. It's somewhat understandable to see why your family is worried about you hanging around someone five years older than you are, solely because they care about you and they don't want to see you get hurt. If they weren't worried about it, somthing would actually be wrong with that. HOWEVER, it is not a case in which you are 12 and the other person is 17. Now THAT, is a big difference, but in your case, you are both fully grown adults. That's the part that I don't understand about this, although you still probably have alot to learn in life, as does "B." You shouldn't have to keep this a secret from your family though. To try and get your family aquainted with "B", invite him over for dinner or do somthing where your parents are involved as well. If he is the right guy for you, he WILL show your mother and father respect, and let them know that he wants to be with you. As for your brother, I think it is up to "B" more so than you to consol him. "B" needs to let him know that he will take good care of his little sister. I would still tell your brother how you feel about the whole situation once he decides to talk to you again. If your family truely loves you, they will respect the decision that you follow and they will support you through anything you decide to do in your life. Consider it a blessing though that they care about you and don't want to see you fall in with the wrong people, because there is plently of sons and daughters that aren't cared for. They just need to see the good guy "B" is and what good qualities he has. I don't think your blowing this out of proportion either.. love is a big thing to deal with! I wish you alot of luck in this situation, and hope the right thing happens! :) Dave
has anyone seen results in running in the stomach region? how much did you run and how many weeks did it take you to see results?
In reality, no person could accuratley tell you how long it will take for you to lose body fat in your stomach region. Everybody's body interprets fat differently, which includes the storage of it in more places than others, and burning it in some places faster than others. Some could run for a month everyday, and burn fat in their legs but they might not see a reduction in their stomach area as fast as others. It all depends, but to answer your question, running will reduce the body fat on your stomach. The time will differ from others, but it will happen eventually if you continue to follow through it. Eating is a huge part in burning fat though, as youu must eat well AND run if you plan to lose body fat effeciently. Running is a form of cardiovascular exercise, which is a great fat burner. It gets your body sweating, your body breathing hard, and causes your fat to burn. Some other great forms are kickboxing and boxing, which really get your body breathing heavily. If you can purchase one, a heavy bag would be a good investment in burning fat. If you want to do it most effeciently though I would suggest running to burn your body fat best. You can always start somthing simple such as a nice, easy jog for a mile, and thhen begin to work your way up to faster speeds and greater distances as your body begins to get into shape. To sum it up for you, running WILL burn body fat in your stomach region, so if you stick to it, you can do it :) Wish you lots of luck! Dave
I got so upset at my english teacher for giving me a bad grade on my project that i worked so hard on, so i sent him an email about it. it didnt seem rude at first, but when i went back and read it after i had cooled off, i realized that it does sound a bit rude. what do i do now? i dont want to appologize because i still dislike my teacher (i'm really not sorry) but i do feel bad. i dont want him to hate me now. what do i do?
By reading your e-mail that you wrote to him it will show him that you are a student that is concerned about your school work, which regardless or not that he changes your grade, it will build respect because you care about your work. Sometimes it's better to stand firm and possibly even be a little curt just to get your point across. I can understand your point especially because you worked hard on your project and you want your fair share out of it, which he might poissibly realize that. If you change your mind about an apology (if you feel it's even necessary) just consol him and tell him you didn't mean to sound rude, just that you were really frusturated because you worked hard on your project. Just relax and don't let this stress you out, because one way or another, your concerned about your well being and that's a great trait to possess. Hope everything turns out well for you! :) Dave
i have a lot of hair on my stomach...its light blonde so i dont need to shave or wax it and most of the time you cant even see it...but when im in a bikini and im standing at a certain angle in the sun it makes my stomach hairs like really stand out because they will be shiny. am i over-exaggerating? should i not worry about it that much? cuz ive heard so much about how i see things way worse in my own eyes. oh yeah and my upper thighs i dont shave, but the hair always sticks out so it looks longer than it actually is, is there something that i could do to make it lay flatter?
thanks:)
I would say for the most part that you are realizing this more just because it's you (like you said in the middle of your question.) In most cases, the hair on your stomach is really fine, thin hair. Alot of people probably wouldn't really notice it unless you pointed it out to them. I actually think that the light blond hairs would make your stomach appear more tan (the gloss and shine from them) then having a "hairy" effect. I wouldn't worry about it :) Dave
i am not fat. i know that. however i have what my mom likes to call a "buddah belly" which is like the area where my belly button is a bit big. ive tried crunches and ab work outs. is there a certain diet i should start? or a specific work out that will make my stomach flat? i would really love to get in shape before summer =] thanks so much !
One side note I must cover before I give my advice is that abdominal exercise alone CANNOT create a six pack. You must be doing extensive cardiovascular exercises too, which in turn burns the fat covering your abdominals. Dieting is said to be 80% of your overall formation of a firm six pack, when trying to define them.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, everybody's body interprets fat differently, and stores it where it wants it. In your case, your stomach, probably the most frustrating area to have body fat. However, there is many exercises you can do to tone this region, so many in fact that i know if you eat properly and commit to cardiovascular exercise as well as defining exercises, you will be able to see some difference by summer. I agree with the advice below about getting rid of any poor junk food in your diet, mainly because this is probably what is causing a fat building on your stomach. Once you commit to exercise and diet, your body fat will begin to decrease and your muscle definition will increase, especially because this is in your abdominals, an area very suseptable to definition. If you do abdominal exercises that will tighten up your abdominals, they will begin to protrude more so, and cause the "buddah belly" effect to decrease, especially if you are burning body fat as well. More lines will begin to show and it won't look like a region of body fat. Some good exercises to begin with are decline and incline crunches (decline for your lower abdominals and incline, for your upper. If you want to tighten up your obliques as well (the muscles directly left and right of your abdominals, perform many "twisting" exercises that make your torso rotate. A nice example would be somthing as simple as a broom twist, where you hold a broomstick or a barbell behind your neck with your arms on either side, and rotate your waist left to right (slowly to prevent using momentum to help you.) I'm sure there are dozens upon dozens of sites that will appear if you type in "six pack" on a search engine that will aid you in abdominal exercises. As far as fat loss, you cannot lose fat where you want to directly, you only lose it as a system. In your case however, you say your body mainly only stores fat in your stomach area, so i believe that it will minimize with your proper dieting and exercise. Wish you best of luck at getting the body you want before summer! Dave
my bf and i last night talked about what we daydream and stuff not exactly text sex/sex put like him taking off my shirt and where i would touch his back and chest and stuff like that. we both really liked it and got turned on and thought it was sexy but the thing is we are really good Christians and we are wondering if it was wrong that we did that. can anyone tell me what they consider this? its not sex but is it 'unholy' i think it might have been kinda bad but i still really liked it. what should i do?? thanks so much :]
If you are getting tempted by these daydreams, then yes, it technically is a sin. God even tells us that if a person looks at another human being and has sexual desire or lust, that alone is a sin. We were made to be attracted to the opposite sex however, and it is hard not to sin when it comes to that sort of thing. As long as you know though that what you're doing could be wrong, that's a good step in controlling temptation. Don't get me wrong, it isn't easy at all :\ He knew we would commit sins like these, which is one reason why he forgives us. Good luck to you in whatever choice you decide to make! Dave
Hey im 16/f and in the past few weeks i have noticed that my butt and boobs have shrunk dramatically. (they were quite small to begin with lol) I really dont know why, I quit basketball this year so i am between my normal sports that are in the fall and spring, i also have been eating more, but i would think that would only make me fatter, right? (my stomach got a bit bigger) I also play indoor field hockey on a club team which is about twice a week so im not completly inactive, but my pants are sagging and my bras are too big now.
What could be causing this?
What can i do to stops this?
What can i do to make my boobs and butt bigger?
sry this was kinda long
thanks in advance for your help!
Since you are 16 years old, you're body is still growing everyday and your cells are reproducing in ridiculous amounts. It may just be a stage your body is going through and your hormones could be affecting where body fat is being stored. If it is a hormonal issue, theres a chance that your body will stabilize soon enough and everything would return to how it was. As far as making your chest and your butt bigger, that could be a rather hard task to accomplish, if it is possible at all. Everybody's body interprets body fat differently, which results in a storage of it in different parts through your body. Chest presses and dumbell flys I know, can increase the muscle in your chest, but it may not look the same as they were before. If you just tone that area up using small weight they might enlarge solely because your muscle would become defined, causing them to protrude more. For your legs you could do the same thing, doing squats and lunges to tone your glutes, once again using lighter weights to define. Using heavier weight with less repititions makes your muscle larger, while using lighter weight and more repititions makes your muscle more toned. If it is a hormonal issue, right now there is little you can do about it, except of course supplying your body with the nutrients and vitamins it needs to do it's thing. Since you are active, you could be losing fat in those areas, once again just because of how your body removes fat and stores it. If you have any specific questions that I didn't cover, I would be happy to do my best to answer them for you. Wish you lots of luck! :) Dave
i want my butt so strong and big and nice shape, i do have nice and big butt, i want to look so sexy and shaped, how i do that?
Well one thing I can think of that you could try out is free weight training, using light weights but doing more repititions. When you use a small amount of weight and do more repititions, you tone and define your muscle rather than using heavier weight and less reps, which makes your muscle bigger. However, you can use heavier weight for awhile to make the muscle larger, and then use smaller weights to tone it up nicely. If you're looking to do your legs and butt, squats will certainly do the trick for you. When performing a squat, don't arch your back and use your legs and butt to raise the weight instead of your torso. Lunges will also work pretty nicely to help define your legs. My best advice to get shaped would be the use of light weight, and more reps, but remember, if you want to enlarge that muscle, use heavier weight and less reps. If you use heavier weights, just use caution not to injure yourself. Stretch before you start any exercise. Wish you great luck!

It seems so far that you are on your way to slimming down in time to wear a bathing suit. First of all, do plently of cardio to get your heart beating, get yourself sweating, and burning unwanted calories. Also, since you like to do your exercising at home, (by the way, I do all my exercising at home too as well :) you could invest in a punching bag so you don't have to run outside. Using a heavy bag is actually a fantastic cardiovascular exercise because it gets you breathing well and definitley makes you break a good sweat. A treadmill is also another indoor option, but that is definitley a more pricey peice of equipment. Since you want to tone your thighs and bottom, you could try doing some free weight exercises. Lunges are great for defining your glutes, as well as your legs. To tone your legs, don't use a heavy amount of weight. Use lighter weights, and do more repititions, to define your muscle instead of building it bigger. With cardiovascular exercises being executed in twine with your toning routine, you should start to see yourself shedding some body fat and showing your definition. Dieting is a massive aspect to losing weight and toning as well. Diet pop is definitley a thumbs up in comparision to regular pop, but it still isn't a great thing for your body. It's still a carbonated beverage that contains aspartame, a potentially toxic artificial sweetner. It actually creates a drug-like effect in your mind that makes the drink taste sweet, when naturally it really isn't at all. Try eating anything with a diet pop and you'll notice the aspartame even makes the food taste sweet, regardless to what it is. So what does it all mean? Diet soda's make you CRAVE CARBOHYDRATES. Hence you will be more tempted to eat sweets while you are trying to diet. Fruits and vegetables are quite possibly the best things you could take in to lower your body fat. Use this rule of thumb. If it's ever been canned or frozen (with the exception of some frozen vegetables) don't eat it. That is a great rule of thumb for minimizing body fat. If you have any more specific questions or anything, just let me know and I will help you out :) I wish you great luck in achieving your goal!
i know this is a weird question haha but how come guys always do that thing where they put there ankle on their other knee? do they sit like that and with there legs open because of their 'male parts' lol thanx :)
Lol, I think this is actually just out of persoanl comfort whether or not a guy sits like that. Im a guy, and I actually find that really uncomfortable so I rarely sit in that position. Women sit with a somewhat similar posture putting their leg over the other leg, but closer together. I think it's actually easier for a female to do this because of the pelvic region being wider, and the femur's (the large, upper leg bone) point in at the knees. I also notice men and women mostly sit in those positions on most talk shows so maybe that is considered somewhat of a formal posture? Lol, i guess your guess is as good as mine :D
i need ways to stay on track, idk why i cant.
like i start to lose weight, then i gain it back because i just like eat abunch of stuff.
idk why i do it.
i need ideas to keep my motivated.
and really good songs for working out, that get you pumped and keep you going.
Right now I think this is more of a mental situation than a physical one. Alot of people go through this actually, it is almost as if it is a reward-type deal. Some people percieve it as "I lost five pounds, so I deserve that peice of cake." In reality this is a negative way to think, and people who do it will most likely do it more than once, eventually leading to that lost weight being gained once again. When you have a craving for food just think back to how hard you had to work your body until you lost that weight, and how easily it gets put back on just because your mind wants to feel the pleasure of tasting good food. Pleasure recieved from food just won't last. I used to think this way somewhat, but then I realized how much pleasure I get from seeing what i've done to my body. When you see youself beginning to lose weight once again, try to think about how your hard work is paying off and how it is showing. I'm also glad you brought up music in this too! :) It all depends on what type of exercise your doing too. For somthing you find challenging, put on some alternative rock or somthing that makes you feel somewhat "angered" inside. Physchologically it does make you angry for a short period of time, enabling your body to do what it needs to do to get that particular exercise done. If your doing some cardiovascular exersices such as running try listening to some Hip-Hop or Rap, or somthing that has a good beat that you can try to run with. It can actually be fun to play a game and try to get your steps to match up with the music! All in all, just experiment with your music as you exersice and find out what you enjoy best. Always remember, if your giving somthing, you almost always will recieve somthing in turn in some way, shape or form. All of your hard work and determination will pay off, you'll see! :) Wish you lots of luck!
I have a local GNC near my school and i was wondering what one would recomend for a highschool football player in the sense of protien shakes. I was thinking cell-tech but after some research and seeing the price i decided to forget that idea. I don't want any creatine or drugs, i want something with protien, vitamins, and that works. any ideas?
If you want to start out with protein shakes, GNC carries a brand called Optimum Nutrition. When I first started lifting this is what I purchased, and I still use it to this date more than two years later. Each serving is loaded with balanced amounts of essential amino acids, giving it 24 grams of unadulturated whey protein. It is a very top quality product, and with that being said it doesn't run cheap though. They sell two pound containers which are around $30-$40 dollars each, and five pound cases which run about $65-$70 dollars. The five-pounder has 77 servings though, and will be worth your extra money if you are serious about building muscle. The two pound cases provide 28 servings, so you are getting more for your money with the five-pounder. Although I don't really buy it for this reason, Optimum Nutrition however has some pretty good tasting shakes. They have a good consistancy and aren't chalky, and generally mix really well in water or Nonfat milk (I'm sure they mix well in 2% and Whole milk as well, but I wouldn't suggest drinking it with that because of the high saturated fat it contains. Nonfat milk still contains the protein that its counterparts of 2% and Whole milk do, without the saturated fat) GNC also carries a GNC Pro Performance brand called Mass XXX, which i'm pretty sure will still run you the same price. I'm pretty sure that I can safely say I won't use much other than Optimum Nutrition when it comes to whey protein. It has many added benifits to it also, such as HYDROWHEY, which makes the protein faster acting once you take it. My advice to you is to go to the GNC near your school, and just browse around for a bit. Try to find what will benifit you the most out of your training regime. Best of luck to your lifting man and I hope you find the right protein for yourself!
Can ankle weights slim your thighs? or do they just make them bulkier?
As Mulva said before, you cannot pinpoint areas of the body that you want to slim down. Everybody's body interprets fat differently, so it will get stored on certain areas more on others than say it would your own body. The only way that you can "slim down" certain areas, is by working your whole body. Eventually your body will minimize fat in all regions if you are persistant and determined enough. A little insight though about using ankle weights. Be VERY cautious when you use them, because most people actually don't know ankle weights can do your body more harm than good. Over an extended period of time, ligament damage can occur. If you are planning on it, don't use them back-to-back all day long. Only use them if you are planning on exercising, and for only some specific exercises. I wouldn't recommend that you do any sprinting with them, or many other forms of running. Ankle weights aren't all bad though, they can increase your foot speed and attributes such as power for kicking. Many soccer players wear ankle weights and yes, it can improve their performance. If you aren't planning on playing a sport, I don't see a reason to put yourself at risk for injury.
To sum up the answer of your question, ankle weights do not slim your thighs. If anything, it would make them larger or more toned depending on which weight you have selected. I wish you luck at making your decision!
how can i lose weight in a week say 6 lbs? i need help im not over weight i just wanna lose 6 lbs in about a week i will try almost ne thing!! plz tell me what i can do!
Sorry to break the bad news, but it is almost impossible to naturally lose 6 pounds in a week. The only way that it could be possible is taking in no food whatsoever, which is somthing you definitley DO NOT want to do. By doing that you can put your internal organs at risk (not right away, but over a period of time they will become malnourished.) By doing that also creates a mental error in your mind that tells you "well if i can do it one week, one more won't hurt." This can lead to serious eating disorders, which is somthing that you definitley do not want to put yourself through. Just stick to healthy food options for a few weeks, keep a good exercise schedule for yourself, and get plenty of sleep. Trust me, it will be worth it down the long road if you do it right, you will feel alot better about yourself. I wish you good luck!

Well, you actually might be in a great position right now to define your abdominals which is great news. Probably one of the biggest obstacles keeping people from getting a six pack is the body fat that forms on the stomach. Fortunatley you don't have that problem, so that's one major barrior out of the way! Many abdominal excersices are done mainly using your own body resistance (for example, a crunch or a sit up), which generally don't require equipment to exercise with. Resistance and accurate execution are two very important aspects in defining your abdominals. You can apply more resistance by doing somthing as simple as laying on a declined slope, somthing as simple as setting up a peice of plywood up against your couch and laying with your head facing the lower part of the wood. Accuracy is important because you might not be getting the fullest out of your routine if you aren't executing an exercise properly. Take somthing as simple as a crunch nice and slowly, making sure you can feel your abdominals tense up when you are doing it. The crunch is probably the most benificial exercise you can do for your abs, as well as the sit up. Once you start to find those easy to do, you can start doing other abdominal exercises such as "6 inches," which involves you laying flat on your back and raising your legs straight up, generally trying to keep your shoes 6 inches off of the floor. As long as you are determined to achieve your six pack, I know you can do it man. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away, and stick to it. Eventually all of your pain and hard work will pay off, and there's no doubting that! Like I said, you are already in good standing to start working on your abs, simply because you have low body fat, and you don't need much equipment to define them. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me! Best of luck to you man!
