Hi i'm a sophomore and my boyfriend is also a sophomore and we've been dating for a year and a half. Only juniors and seniors are allowed to go to prom, but they can take freshman or sophomores as dates. This girl who is my friend and is also my boyfriends friend asked him to go to prom with her, but he didn't know what to say. So he asked me if he should or not. And I dont really want him to go with her because she always flirts with him. And I just don't feel comfortable with him going with her. So I guess my question is... Is it okay to tell him that I don't want him to go or is that too controlling? Because i don't want to be a mean girlfriend who won't let her boyfriend do anything, but I just feel bad if I don't let him go. Thanks!
You can tell him how you feel, but you can't tell him whether to go or not. Ultimately it's his choice, but hopefully after you tell him how you feel, he will make the right one.
And when you tell him, don't be like "I don't want you to go. If you go I'll be so mad". That comes off really threatning and controlling. Explain that its uncomfortable for you, and ask him to think about how he would feel if the roles were reversed.
If he ends up going, don't get jealous about it. If you've been dating for a year and a half, you should be able to trust him, and while it may suck for you to think about for awhile, things will more than likely be okay after all is said and done.
And one more thing-- Did your "friend" ask you before she invited your boyfriend to prom? If she did, did you tell her that you would prefer she ask someone else? Because if you didn't tell her, they probably have no idea that you are upset at all. And if she didn't ask you... Well, if I were you, I wouldn't call her friend much longer. She should have at leasts ran it by you first.

i really like the hair type that people have when they go to the beach and swim if you know what i mean, its like wavy. im not sure how to explain it. but if you think you know what im talking about do you know of any products that can make your hair look this way without it being crunchy from gel or anything, just a natural beachy look. thanks!

I have naturally strait hair, but i would like to buy some kind of mousse that i can put in my hair after i shower that will make it really curly. does anyone know any good mousses ?

what's body butter? lotion? can you put it on your face?
Its really thick and makes your skin really soft. I just got some from Bath and Body Works the otherday in Midnight Pomegranate (smells amazing!). I wouldn't reccomend putting it on your face, because its really meant for extremely dry areas, such as elbows, feet, and knees.
Does tanning lotion give you quicker results or is it just a fad. Some of my friends say that it helps make you darker quicker than not tanning without it. And others say it the other way around. So any advice would help.
It helps. Some even have bronzers in them to help you look tan faster, with out looking fake.

any tips on how to write a hook for the first sentence of any essay?
I usually use something totally off topic, then relate it to what I'm writing about.
For instance, in the last essay I wrote for my AP Lit class, I wrote about how Saw 3 led the box office on its opening weekend, and that the Saw movies are famous for being extremely gorey and bloody. Then I went on to say how the publics intrest in blood and gore was not a new development, that Shakespeare's Macbeth is one of his most popular, AND one of his bloodiest. My paper was on the blood motif in Macbeth.
You can also start with a quote, definition, or surprising comment.
i finally invested in money to buy a cute pair of sand UGG boots. but now that im thinking about it, i want to know if there are other cute boots out there for a more affordable price. i'm looking for sand colored boots, furry on the inside, and a little bit below knee length (have to be flat!) also, can i have your opinion on UGG boots, are they still even "in" anymore? plus, when summer comes around, i want to wear them with jean skirts. what do you think, and do you suggest any stores that carry the types on boots im looking for? thanks! :]
American Eagle had some boots that were ugg imitations, and they were a lot cheaper. They are out of season now, so they are not on the website anymore, but some stores may still have them left over.
My opinion on UGGs? Well, around here, they aren't exactly "in" but they aren't really "out". Meaning, they aren't trendy, but they aren't "fashion don'ts" Personally, I think that they are comfortable, and I would maybe wear them during the winter, but I don't really like them. And wearing them with a skirt isn't cute in my opinion, but lots of girls like it, so if you think it's cute, I say go for it!

ok well ive been friends with this guy for about 6 or 7 years maybe even longer and well ive had feelings for him since the 4th grade but i didnt say anything because i dont wanna ruin our relationship. But my feelings for him are getting stronger and idk what to do. I think there might be a chance that he likes me...He talks and messes around with me on the bus and on the way home from school when we are walking together he pushes me in the snow and other stuff, And when its rainy or really cold he will give me a ride home...

It's hard to say whether he likes you or not, but I think it sounds like he might. Plus, if you think he does, chances are he does have some feelings for you.
I say definitely tell him how you feel. If you don't, you'll always wonder what could have happened.

there's this guy that i really like, but he has a girlfriend... but we're still pretty good friends. so this weekend i want to hang out with him and some of my other friends... everyone says that if i invite him over i have to invite over his girlfriend as well, but the thing is that she's a total b**** to me. and i don't know, i just wanna hang out with him... so is it so wrong to want to hang out with your guy friends if they have a girlfriend?
If other people are going to be there, no you don't have to invite her. It's his choice whether he wants to come or not, and don't be hurt if he chooses not to (she could be telling him not to go). Feel free to hang out with him, its fine for a girl and a guy to be friends. But don't hang out at each others' houses alone, because that will start a whole bunch of rumors and gossip that you don't need. Also, keep in mind that you cannot take it farther that friendship while he is taken. Even if he initiates it, its disrespectful to her (No matter how mean she is) and you wouldn't want that done to you! With that in mind, keep being friends, there's not a problem with it =)

i moved to my new school in the start of the year; and i still have like no friends!
i mean i have people i talk to in class and stuff and people are always like "we should hang out!" but when i ask them if they want to they already have plans...even if i ask them like that monday for the next friday...
i dont wanna seem too clingy or like im trying to be "popular" or whatever by asking people too much and i dont want to be a tag-along at parties...cause i feel like i need to BEG people to let me go and i dont want to do that...

I know what you're going through. I went to a new school for high school, starting my freshman year. I made some good friends, but I still felt new all year. I didn't really start hanging out with more people until the end of the year. When my sophomore year came, though, I finally felt like one of the regulars.
You are right, it takes time. It's hard going to a new school because people already have their friends and groups set, and sometimes they're reluctant to let others in. But just keep being nice to everyone, and keep inviting people to hang out. If the same people keep rejecting you over and over, and never try to make plans with you, then they probably don't have any intentions of getting new friends, and I'd say move on. But when people tell you they're busy, just say something like "Oh, okay. Well we always have fun in class, so call me when you're free sometime, I'd love to hang out."
People will come around.
I have a feeling that this guy, who knows I like him, might diss me in the middle of the school cafeteria... dont ask why i know this.

Honestly, act super confident. Don't let him see you break. Don't fire back at him. Don't cry.
Maybe stand there and listen to him, try to look bored with the situation, then when he's done, smirk at him and just ask "Are you done?" then walk away. Or something like that.
Maybe even giggle a little bit at him while he's talking. He'll think his plan is backfiring and start to feel embarassed. If you look like you're not bothered by him at all, he'll be the one that looks rediculous. If people ask you about it, say "his immaturity was a little pathetic, but I can't help feeling a little sorry for him". It shows YOU are the bigger person, and it will make him look like a petty little kid.

I'm a girl, but I sit at a lunch table with 9 guys (me being the only girl) so I hear a lot of conversations about girls and what they look for in them.
According to them, They like a girl who isn't overweight, but isn't really skinny. They don't like "fatties" and the don't like "Little girls".
So yes, they like some hips on their girls.

To get the URL of the picture, right click it, go to the bottof of the menu that pops up to 'properties', then copy the address (URL) and put it where it says URLHERE.
Then, look down at the bottom of your edit blog page. There will probably be a little box that you can check that says 'view source' or 'Edit HTML' or something like that. Check that box, paste the code into the blog, then uncheck, and the picture should show up =)

I got that from googling it. And that's what I was always told. That its a clever, witty remark, sometimes sarcastic, that is funny, and usually told in a serious way.
My english teacher last year told us that he had a dry sense of humor. Someone asked what it was, and he basically said what that says above.
That's the only way I have ever understood it... I've never heard that it means you don't have one
