15/f. I have a conflict with my best friend, who is 14/f. First of all, I am not your average teenage girl: I'm artsy, I would like to become a professional musician, I've never had a boyfriend, and I don't consider shopping a hobby. My best friend is the typical prep. I don't have a problem with this at all. My problem is that she is always telling me that I need to get a boyfriend or a date to whatever formal, or that I need to be more like the average teenage girl. But this isn't what I want at all, and I am completely happy with myself at this point in my life because instead of concentrating on boys, I concentrate on what I love to do: music. So it seems as if my best friend is trying to control me. Lately, she's obsessed with having a boyfriend, no matter who it is. And that's her business, but she drags me into crap like that. I never give in to her controlling manner, but it gets freaking annoying to the point where I don't even want to be around her anymore. How can I tell her to not be so controlling, yet still keep our friendship? Thank you!
hmm thats tough. When friends get boyfriends and are totaly obsessive over them and you feel like thats all they talk about and you cant just have fun together. Try to cut down on how much youy see her and talk to her. If she is a true friend she will relize she misses you and come crawling back. Best friends are suppsed to be there supporting what you want to do, like music not controling you. If she bringsup a subject like that then juat tell her that you dont want a boyfriend you want to be concerned with your music if she wont except it she isnt much a friend worth having. I know that it would be hard to get rid of best friends but if its not gonna work out then you have no choice. Good luck with it:)

okay. so i have a bunch of friends..well its more like a clique at my school that im in right? so 3 people in the clique are like reallllllly close to me and the others are my fRIENDS but we're not that close.
Well today i just found out that the clique of friends im in, hung out last friday and are having a MOVIE FRIDAY thing.
When i found out this had happened, i began to ask myself "Do they like me?" "Am i Mean" "What am i doing wrong?"..and this is really driving me crazy bc i feel reallllllly left out. and the times where i try to hang out with the 3 people im close to, they're busy with the rest of the people in the clique.
I cant like move on, bc we've all been friends for so long. you know? & besides the rest of the cliques are filled with wierd nerds hahaha(no offense)

To start of, you might not care but cliques just equil problems. I think they are really a waste of time. Pluse then there is always that one person (like you) who will always get left out. (i have been there before) You may not want to leave them and you dont have to but you can always be friends with outher people outside your 'clique' and hang out with them too if the clique is leaving you out.
If thats not an option for you then just confront them about it. Straight up tellthem you are feeling left out and ask why you arent getting invited. If there making up some lame excuses or lying, or tell the truth and just say they dont want you there, then there not very much good of friends and i would get rid of them. Its not worth hanging on to something useles. But hopefully you will all be able to take care of the problems and hang out together. Try to become closer to the people in the clique you arent close will so then they will like you more and invite you.

I did bad on my midterms so far and Ive only gotten 3 out of 7 back. On my english exam, I got a 93. But on my math exam I got a 59% and my french exam was a 68%. My grades have been good all year..Im just not good at testing. How do I tell my parents? Im really scared to tell them because theyre already worried and they dont want me to go back to my old ways (failing) like I did last year. Any ideas on how to break it to them?
mid terms are hard. Pluse they put so much pressure on you that you get really stressed out during that week. So just tell them that it was really stressing but you tried your best and your sorry and will try to improve on it.

What's a good way of overcoming 'shyness'?
I mean, I have trouble talking to new people, especially ones I don't know. I would really like to be more confident, or what ever will help me with approaching someone. Any ideas or relations to this?
I recently did that and im still getting there but im SO MUCH more confident. You just have to take it step by step. It's definatly a long term goal. You just need to not care and be yourself, people will like you alot more for it. I see these questions sometimes and its hard for me to explain it because it is all on you, you have to justface ytour fear, strike up a conversation and if they dont like you then thats there loss, but more then likely they will like you more for being confident in what you say and not standing behind everyone being shy.

I went to new york for the first time this summer and it BLEW me away its so amazing. Sorry i dont know any hotels i stayed with my freind who lives there. But i DEFFINATLY reccomed going to the palisades mall its not to far from the city if thats were your staying, but its deffinatly i whole day trip because its the second biggest mall in the world. It has amazing shopping.[over 500 stores im pretty sure] Pluse a lot of the stores are cheap. China town is amazing and so much fun. All the little shops with fake designer bags and things. Then at night it get all lit up and its really pretty. In the city there are many things to do. You will find so many different thing just walking around it. Dont worry there are LOT of places to see plays and they are always showing. Sorry i dont know lots of spacifics because i have only been there once, but its garunteed you will have fun no matter what your doing. :)

It depends.
I have both ad i HATE facebook.But that is because nobody in my school really has one anda few people outside my school do but its still not as much popular yet so i only have a few friends and only like 3 people that leave comments. On facbook you can add as many pictures as you want and there is section where you write about youraelf and your music and everythint but you cant comstomize it to be your own. I only sign in mine like twice a week but ita okay to have for people who dont have myspaces because you can keep in touch. But i guess if you had a lot of frieds that already have one and you get comments and there funny pictures of all of you on therei t would be pretty fun. but i dont prefer it.
I LOVE myspace because there are so many things you can do it with it. Change your profile around add bacrkrounds. And now you can have pages of pictures. So i deffinatly prefer myspace.\

okay so i woke up this morning, looked in the mirror & i see this GIGANTIC zit on my nose. i'm not exaggerating. i'm going roller skating tonight with a bunch of my friends including the guy i like! so i need to get rid if it FAST. i have already washed my face like 8 times & used oil free acne wash on it twice. what else can i do to make it go away by tonight??? thank you soooooooo much if you can give me any advice at all.
ekk washing it wil make it worse! i would put toothpaste on it it(i know its werid haha) but it will help the redness and make it less notciable. Then put on some coverup and youll be fine:)

ok,well i have angled bangs that go off to the side. my hair grows suuuppeerr fast and i got my hair cut like two weeks ago,and my angled bangs got REALLY long! i dont know how to cut them so they are still angled, could you help? like in steps? if i mess up i dont care,because they'll grow back in a heartbeat. but could you give me steps so i know how to do it each time? also is it ok to use saftey sissors or regular sissors? cause i dont have hair dresser sissors.... thank you so much!! :]
I've dome mine before. its kinda hard and itmade mine a little messed up but if you really want to this is what i did
-wet my bangs
-then i got sheers(hair cutting scissors, i suggest getting them otherwise it might get messed up)
-Then kinda hold your between your fingers and slant them to the angle you want.
-Then cut.
I suggest cutting off less then you want just incase you mees up you will have seom hair left to fix them. Also if youdont wanna risk it you can go to the hair dresser and have them cut it and its like 5 bucks if that. Or see if one of your friends is good at it and have them do it, cause it hard to do on yourself.

A) Well if you still young thenyou probably will still gorw. If not there is really no way. its just natural. Plus you dont really need big boobs to have a good life you have to live with what you get. but if you that concerned you could wear a padded/pushup bra to make them look bigger.
B) I use to be really shy and i hated it cause i would never talk to people. You have to just put yourself out there stike up converstaion with someone, maybe someone in your classes that you sit near and never reeally talk to. Just start small talk. but that may not be the quickest way. You could try to get more close to some of your friends that arent really close you just talk during school and stuff. Ask them to hang out. Or have your friend and some of there friends all hang out so you can meet new people.

ok so i wear my hair straight & the same way everyday. it gets pretty old. i started braided my hair at night (2 french braids) and then i take it out in the morning and it looks all crimpty . my friends LOVE it and think its really cute, and even my sister does (for a change). but now i ear my hair crimpt at least once a week, sometimes twice. is that to much? do u think crimpt hair looks trashy. i wear hollister and abercrombie and with crimpt hair... i don't wont to look cheap. thanks ;)

Well there is really no way to help it.
you could go to the dermatoligist and thay might beable to give you a cream or something but depending on how bad it is then they might not work. Other than that yu just have to deal with it. i found that washing my hands a lot drys my hadns out more so they dont sweat as much. I do it like 5-7 times a day. If you really dont like it in the long run you can get a surgery to getsweat glands remove but that would be if it was servere and you would have to talk to your parents.
