Hi, I'm 14, soon to be 15 in 13 days, female.

My family has recently become poor. I've never been a person to shop at Hollister or anywhere that expensive, buttt, according to my mom and dad, we're almost in debt, and we can't pay our monthly bills. We can't afford my school clothes, so I'm having a yard sale.

My dad, tonight, just told me that we might not have enough to send me to Drivers Ed this September. I got really upset, and he still has to look into the finances.
I told him I was angry because we were poor, and he said whatever and left. What do I do about all of this? I think I hurt my dad's feelings, and yet I'm literally crying because we don't have enough money for anything anymore, I can't stop crying.

... please help. What should I do? My birthday will probably be the worst ever.

I know it SUCKS that you might not have drivers ed for a while but sometimes, it's worth the wait. I had to wait over a year, and my family wasn't poor. i'll share my experience with you so you can see what i've learned. I was 15 and in ohio you can get a permit at 15 1/2. well, my mom got sick with a rare brain condition and had surgery. not only was i not able to drive then, i didn't have rides anywhere...sometimes not even food because everyone was busy. once she finally recovered, we moved to a different state a month after my sweet 16 [which i didn't have any kind of party for]. where i live now, you can't get a liscense until you're 17. i had to take drivers ed as a class at school so it all got delayed so my liscence came a month after my 17th birthday.
what i've learned: driving will come eventually. in the mean time, enjoy not haveing to pay for gas.
also, don't give you parents grief about it. i did [with somewhat good reason] and it didnt get me anywhere. so don't dwell on it. you don't need alll new clothes for school. if you do want to get clothes with the money you get from the yard sale, do what i did [this week actually] and go bargain hunting! i promise you it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
tjmax: i got hollister & a&f jeans for $7 & $10 on sale. 3 pairs for $27.
target: flats on sale for $3.75...they go with everything.
plato's closet is amazing too..
so really just look...you can make it through. get a raincheck for the whole birthday thing... get a cake, blow out candles and open a few small gifts. birthdays aren't meant to be huge parties like on tv..just a gathering with a few people you care about can be so meaningful.
cheer up.. things WILL get better, i promise. this will only make you stronger!

so my boyfriend got drunk one night with his friends and girls were there of course.. i found a hickey on him and he was like "aww baby im sorry you really cant control yourself when your drunk" so i forgave him.. then his friend told me that he almost had sex but his sister came in time to stop him.. should i break up with him.. or was it just a mistake that he did and i should forgive him..

dump him... drunk isn't an excuse to do things with other girls. the fact that you found out instead of him telling you is bad too. it wasn't "just a mistake". you deserve better.

Does this actually work?
Any before and after pictures? I'm kinda skeptical about it. I don't want to go out and buy it, and not have it work.

My friend has it and i asked her the same thing yesterday. She said it works to make zits look not-so-bad but it feels like you're burning your skin off. "my iron can do the same thing". she wants to return it. BUT it could work for you.

could having side bangs ruin your eyes?? like if the side bangs covered one eye partially could you like become partially crosseyed in one eye and the other one is fine?

that is a really good question. I guess it could if someone had side bangs all the time for a really long time but i've never heard of anyone having that problem. [haha in a few years i can see harvard releasing a report that bangs are bad for your eyes.]

Is that the same as "id bare minerals"? I use that at sephora almost everytime i'm there and it works great.. i like the way it looks.

Im going to a private school next year for the first time, and i have to wear uniforms which is basicly a skirt and a collored shirt. We have to have our socks showing, but not like all the way to our knees. My question is, what do people usually wear for shoes?! I wanted to just wear flats, but socks with them would look pretty weird. And i dont want to wear tennis shoes because that would look ugly. They say the color has to be black brown white or blue... and i have no idea what people wear! any help!? I start school Monday.

I went to private school for 10 years..
look at your school handbook or wherever they put the dress code rules...any other specifications about shoes?
When i was at mine, we HAD to wear gym shoes.. i went to all girls so no one really cared if it looked ugly or whatever. you could wear very feminine sneakers [ralph lauren had some a few years back...idk if you've seen those]. sneakers don't look bad with socks. a lot of people i know wear calf-high socks for fun or seasonal socks [the ones with santa on them, etc]. if you can, ask other people going/that already go to that school what shoes hey are wearing. get a facebook and add a random person [make a friend!] and just ask them. they probably know best what the trends are there. oh, another possibility is uggs. you could always wear those with knee high sockes. [they're still in style in some places.] if you need anything else, let me know.

I smoked weed about 6 weeks ago and today I took a drug test. It was my first time to ever do it. Do you think it's still in my system or not? I have a fast metabolism and I drink a lot of water, I heard that makes it get out faster. Thanks.

The test will say you're clean..usually it's out in a month for people that do it often so i'm pretty sure 6 weeks is more than enough time.

alright so me and my boyfriend have been dating about like 6 months and we wanna move up a step. he wants to finger me which im fine with..but my only problem is the whole discharge factor...i get it alott. and i dont want him to be all like eww..so is there anyway i could get rid of it before it happens. thanks in advance (:

he won't mind the discharge.. it's like cum so it's actually a good thing. when you're "wet", the fingering won't hurt because it will just slide right in. if he can't take the female fluids... he's too young to finger you. he won't be grossed out...

i'm going to cedar point and i'm the type to go on big rollar coasters....i want to take my camera and some money w/ me. but i dont know how to hold the camera and the money. i cant put them in my pocket cause it'll fall out. i dont want a dumb fanny pack or somtin..any ideas?

i recommend one of those back packs that are just like a bag with 2 stings to put everything in. they're out of your way and don't look dumb. if you're a girl, put the money in your bra. [i'm serious, it works]. that way, it won't get lost or wet.

For Christmas, I got the LG VX5300. [As did me, my sister, and brother]. It's an okay phone, it does everything it had to. But there are a few minor glitches-I can never hear it ringing, it has very few options, and since i take so many pictures and text a lot, the memory fills up quickly.

I want the Strawberry Chocolate, for I know for a fact the ringing is louder, there's a lot more options [such as mp3 player], and the camera's cool. Not to mention it's just an amazing design.

I don't get a new phone until October '08...but I really am yearning for this phone. I think it's a good idea to get, especially because I want a new mp3 player [mine broke], and this PHONE has it built in!

So my questions are...
-Do you have to pay to download songs onto it?
-What are your ideas on the Chocolate?
-How much would it be if I didn't buy a new plan?
-Do you think it's practical for me to get it?

I have a white chocolate & i absolutely love it. i know a few people that have gotten it and then exchanged it for another one because they couldn't stand it. i guess you either love it or hate it.
-no, you don't have to pay. i have music on my computer from cds, etc so i just put it on my phone. i had to buy a cord thinger for $30 to do so tho.
-you have to buy a memory card. without it, the phone only holds about 15 songs. usually it's enough for me & i change the songs every week but if you want it to hold all of your songs... you're gonna have to get one. [theyre not cheap]
-i'm gonna say around $150 [sometimes they have offers]
-maybe not practical... but if you have the money and want it THAT bad..sure.
it's a great phone but it might be better to wait.

When i run i see my boobs like jiggling everywhere. I dont want to lose my boobs, like the bigness of them i guess you can say. I know i know when you run or exercise you lose fat all over but if my boobs were not jiggling as much it wouldnt be as bad right? Should i buy a training bra or something? Can i just wear my normal bra?

well it depends how big you are... some people are fine with just a regular bra or a sports bra. i wear both when i work out. i'll wear a racerback underwire bra and then a tight underarmor type shirt with a built in bra to hold me together. it really depends on what's most comfortable for you.

So today my mom threw out all of my makeup and brushes (even the expensive stuff and the brand new stuff) because she says it could have mono germs on it from when I had mono last month (i know.. wtf?!).
It was about $90 worth of makeup that was mostly given to me as gifts. So now that I need a whole new makeup supply, I kind of need suggestions because I have never really gone shopping for makeup before. I would like a mid-range product, not quite MAC, but not the $4 foundations either...
I am fair, with dark brown almond shaped eyes and medium-a little dark brown hair.
I would like to get--
-Mascara (just to lengthen and curl)
-Eyeliner pencil
-Loose powder, or liquid foundation
-Eyeshadow
-Blush (powder)
-Concealer
and any other products you swear by.

If you have any suggestions of your favorite products, I would love you forever!

this is what i use or have that i recommend:
foundation: neutrogena
tinted moisterizer: neutrogena (i love it)
mascara: max factor or the green & pink maybelline
eyeliner: outlast by covergirl or unstopable by maybelline (same thing... it's smooth)
eyeshadow: physicians formula (they come in sets) or victoria's secret. i've been wanting to get sephora... theyre colors are awesome.
blush: victoria's secret mosiac ones
concealer: neutrogena
tools: medium blush brush.. i have an onld one from revlon
eyelash curler!

They put them in closets in the back of the store in chinatown because they're illegal & you really have to look so you get a "good" fake.

i have heard so many different things and i just wanted to know exactly what it meant.

I used to think it was the boob thing but later on i heard that milkshake really meant the mixing of "juices" if you get my drift. I could be wrong but it's another thing to consider.

I just want some opinions on what everyones favorite cell phone provider is. Such as, cingular, verizon, tmobile, etc. Can everyone please just tell me which they prefer, and why. It's alot easier having people tell you what's best when they actually HAVE the plan, rather than researching on their websites... because most give biased opinions and really aren't as kind as they seem. I get service almost everywhere & they have a lot of good phones to choose from. I have the chocolate & I'm very happy with it.

Okay... well I'm not trying to get any religious views, or have anyone change my mind or anything like that... but I've always had a hard time figuring out what to believe in. I went to a Catholic school when I was younger [only cause it was right down my street though, haha] and neither of my parents are very religious... infact, they hardly are at all. But I never know what to believe. Like, I don't want to not believe in God... cause if there even is a "Hell" I don't want to go there and burn for all of eternity haha. Now, I don't really think there is [well I'm not even sure what to believe... there's so much I can learn about] but what if there is? I'll never know for sure. So basically, I'm just always worrying about things like that and I never know what to think =/ now don't like, try to call me stupid and naiive or anything, cause it's not my fault that there's 9857285 religons. Usually I just try to live my life being a good person... cause there's really no religon that looks donw upon that... That's what my mom always says anyway. "If there is a God or a whatever, as long as I spend my life being a good person, I'll be fine" So that's what I try to live by. [religon-wise]. What do you think?

I have about the same situation as you... my mom is old fashioned catholic & my dad is not at all.
bascially you have to figure it out for yourself so believe what you think is true, not what you learn. as long as you live a moral life (& not steal, kill, do any "bad stuff" & repent when you do) you are good to go. find information and form you own beliefs. if you need anything else, let me know.
