I have huge zits on my face. I have [insert event] in [insert amount of days]. I'm stressing! How do I get rid of them?

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=507367

From there:

Hey. I know this sounds weird, odd, strange, etc., but what I'm about to say to you ACTUALLY works:

Get some lemon juice. You got the lemon juice? Alright- now take the lemon juice- and take a Q-tip and dab some lemon juice onto your zit with the lemon juice. Just a thin layer- not the whole bottle, silly! =D

Alright- so doing this at night is the best thing to do- it will really reduce the size and shape of the zit- and you won't know it was there in a few days.

Make sure not to touch it with your fingers after you put on the lemon juice- the oils from your fingers will stop the effect.

Relax- everyone gets zits- so you're only normal =D.

And here's a forum discussion from one of my friends on here that talks a lot about acne:

http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmetopic.php?t=368&userboard_id=35415

From there:

Acne pretty much sucks ass and we all hate them.
I'll pretty much share what I know and my experiences.

So, I used to have really bad acne for like 2 freaking years. It sucked and I hated it. But now I'm better and here are my views on stuff:

Dermatologists are hard to get an appointment with and very pricey. They don't do much except look at you once, then they have their assistants take care of you after the dermatologist her/himself prescribes you acne medicine. It's usually Differin [sp?] and Benzaclin [sp?].

OTC Medicine:
Not all medication work effectively on all people. I've learn that it doesn't work for me or for anyone with sensitive skin. It may work for some people but as soon as they stop the use, acne comes back. Whether it's a cream, gel, or oral medication, they all suck! They dry out your skin, irritate it, increase sunburns/tans, and enlarge your pores. Not your dream skin, huh? And ironically, they sometimes make it worse. And you know what the 'best' part is? They're freakishly expensive! And once you stop the medication, acne comes back and parties like there's not tomorrow. Oral medication also makes your insides bad =/

Acne Products:
Acne face wash, gel, cream, whatever. Proactive seems to be a big one, too. Anywhos, as I've mentioned above, some work for some people while it makes everything worse for other people. It all depends. But most of the time, all those products dry your skin out, irritate it, and/or makes your acne worse. And it enlarges your pores too. Again, not very dreamy. And if they do work, as soon as you stop using them, they come back. Same line second verse.

So what the hell are you suppose to do?
Go the natural, cheap way.

Washing your face:
Wash your face gently only twice a day. Once is okay, I guess. But washing your face when you get up and before you go to bed is a good idea. More than twice a day could irritate your skin. Also, do not scrub your face, wash it gently as if you were washing a baby. Use face friendly products, too. I recommend a brand called Cetaphile. It's gentle on your skin and softens it. PAT your face dry with a clean towel.

Towels and pillow cases:
Try and change them as much as you can. Every day would be PERFECT but hard to do sometimes.

Squeezing:
Not only does that sound disgusting, it is. And it leaves nasty scars. Don't touch your face at all unless you have a slight itch. Don't rest your chin/cheeks in your hands or your arm. Just leave it alone as if it was a $10,000,000 mask that if you touch, you'll get arrested for. Oh, and try to keep your hair out of your face.

Sleeping:
Sleeping plays a big, huge role. Your body starts to renew its skin starting around 10PM and ending around 2AM. So be sure to be sleeping somewhere in between or the entire time. Sleeping early helps, and getting adequate sleep improves your skin and its tone.

Eating:
Milk makes acne worse. It's scientifically proven. Junk foods, sweet, sugars. ALL BAD FOR YOU PERIOD. Avoid/limit them along with sodas even if they're diet. Sports drink contain loads of sugar. Juices, too. Instead, eat healthy foods like veggies and fruits! I've noticed that my skin improve immensely when I turned vegetarian. So maybe give a shot to eating lots of veggies and fruits and other healthy stuff and cut down on meat? Also try and drink green tea [tea bag with no added sugar] or green tea with aloe [again, tea bag with no added sugar].

Masks:
Home made masks are probably the best. Here are few that work and softens your skin:

1. Red ginseng syrupy liquid thing mixed with warm water and a bit of all purpose flour. Make a mask thing with that.

2. Green tea [tea bag] cooled down to room temperature. Splash it on your face for 5min or so. I know it sounds weird but it helps. Or mix it with a little bit of all purpose flour and make a mask.

3. Mix warm milk, honey, and all purpose flour. Make a mask with that.

Only do the mask right after you washed your face. Make sure you don't put on any lotion and what not. Do not leave it on for more than 10-15min because bacteria will become attracted to the mask. Do not laugh, squint, whatever. Just keep your face neutral or you'll get wrinklies. Do not peel the mask off. Slowly wash it off GENTLY with LUKEWARM water. Keyword: GENTLY.

Lotions and make ups and what not:
Lotions/Sunblocks have products that won't clog pores, are fragrance and oil free. I suggest you buy from either Neutrogena or...some other renown company. I use Neutrogena's Oil Free Moisturizing Face Lotion and Neutrogena's Oil Free 55 SPF Sunblock. And Aveeno's 50 SPF Sunblcok [oil free] sometimes.

Make up should be limited to only eye and lip make up. No foundation, no concealer, not blush, no powder. Get my drift? Good. If you MUST wear make up, limit it down to special occasions [School does NOT count] and take it off as soon as you can. Whatever you do, do NOT go to bed with make up on!

I'm writing a story...don't want to say too much!
Ask these few questions with detail and THANKS!

1. Do you think your spoiled and why?
2. Do you think if you got everything you wanted, you will be happy?
3. How would you explain the word TANTRUM?

Thanks! If you have any ideas for my story, I would appreciate everything! Plus, I this book won't publish but if it is...i promise to give cred to the people at Advicenators.com
THANKS EVERYONE!

Hello.

1. I don't think I'm spoiled. My parents make me pay for things on my own. Heck- I have to pay for school clothes [even if its just one pair] all on my own. I have chores to do all the time. I don't get special privileges over my siblings. Sure- when I get to hang out with a friend- it may be until after midnight or later than what I said- but only because I don't lie to my parents and they trust me. I actually think that I have a great relationship with them. So I don't think I'm spoiled.

2. No. I wouldn't be happy. I don't think anyone could honestly say that they would be. Seriously- isn't it more fun to imagine things you want- rather than ACTUALLY have them? Haha- maybe I'm just weird.
Sure- I want to have a lot of things when I'm older [including a sufficient amount of money], but just having that stuff won't make me happy. What will make me happy is having friends and family that love and care for me. I want to have a wife that I can talk to- not just be there. I want to have kids that will grow up to be great people. Seeing my dreams come true will make me happy [one of those includes becoming a heart surgeon]. Material possessions won't ever do that.

3. Tantrum is when a person just gets so frustrated and angry with everything- they just can't help but scream and throw a fit. This mainly happens with younger kids- but sometimes I actually have tantrums.. I get angry sometimes- its sort of funny, actually.

I have an idea for your story- name a character Jack. =D

And when you get that book published- come back and tell us all! I will read it!

what is flixster???

You probably expected this, if you've been on this site for awhile.

only search advicenators.com

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flixster:

[[Flixster is an online database of information about films and actors. It includes social features such as the ability for individual users to review and rate films and to compare their ratings with invited friends to assess compatibility in film tastes.

Started in January 2006, the site administrators avoided heavy promotion until November 2006 in order to improve the service.[1] Between November 2006 and January 2007, the number of daily page views by Alexa Toolbar users rose from fewer than 20 million per day to around 50 million per day.[2]

As a consequence of this rise in popularity, the website has been discussed on numerous Internet blogs. More mainstream commentators are also starting to mention the site.[3]]]

Please read all of this. I really do need help and a second opinion, and I have no one to talk to.

I'm 15, 5'1 and 135 pounds. I have a petite frame, and obesity runs in my family. I used to weigh less, and I know it shows that I am heavier than I used to be but when I look in the mirror I don't see myself as fat and obese. I just don't know if others see me that way and I just don't realize it. I went to the doctor three weeks ago when they told me how much I weighed and how tall I was. The nurse said my weight was perfect for my height, but the frantic research that I've done says otherwise. Sometimes I get really down on myself and begin to see it, but I don't know.

I think I've gained weight because during school I ate a lot because of stress and the cafeteria, but this summer I've been cutting back A LOT. I've been ordering healthier items when I eat out, I've stopped eating between meals, and I've stopped eating when I'm not hungry. Sometimes I slip, but... overall I think I'm doing a decent job. Hopefully, I've lost at least 2 to 3 pounds but I have no way to be sure since I have no clue where the scale in my house is.

Bottom line is, I don't want to beat around the bush or anything so I'm just going to ask. Do you think I'm "fat?" I've been really sad lately because I've been accessing these internet BMI calculating websites that have been mostly saying "I'm at risk of being overweight." One even said I was overweight by 25 pounds. But according to one of my friends, they thought I looked around 110 or so.

I don't know if it's all relative or not. Do people just carry their weight differently? My friend is 5'6 and weighs 140. She also eats much more unhealthy than I do, and no offense at all to her, but she does look somewhat heavier than I do. Not but much, but she does. But she only weighs 5 pounds more than I do and she's 5 inches taller. I just don't understand.

Thanks in advance, God bless.

I'm no expert- but I think you're not fat.

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

According to that- your BMI is 25.5. So- apparently you're overweight. But that's by .5, really. I think that you shouldn't take that number and beat yourself up about it. I think you're right in saying that "people carry themselves differently".

I think that your height is the only reason that you're considered "Overweight". You have less height to distribute weight- so the BMI calculator sees it as you having a lot more weight per inch or whatever than you should have.

If you wear a 0-2.. I think its safe to say that you're NOT fat.

And you shouldn't worry about it- live life and be happy- eat what you want- but do what you want.

Personally- that motto of "eat what you want" hasn't helped me out much.. lol!

Hi, I'm [insert age]/f and I weigh [insert weight] and am [insert height]. Am I fat?

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

Go to that page. Insert your height and weight.

This will give you a number in the heart. This number is your BMI [Body Mass Index] and it can help judge if you are underweight, normal, overweight, or obese.

BMI Categories:

* Underweight = less than 18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Which ever you fit into is what you are.
So take me- I'm 5'10" and weigh about 150 lbs.
My BMI is 21.5- therefore I fall under the "Normal weight" category and am not fat.

Here's another website which shows you where you lie and will tell you instantly with a picture. It works really well:

13/female

I think that i'm in love with my best guy friend Ryan again. We have gone out off and on for about a year seeing other people in between each time we broke up and I am worried that I am in love with him again. The only reason I am worried is because I am currently in a realationhip with someone else who I really enjoy being around and who I can tell anything and he loves me and I say I love him too its just i'm not sure if I mean it sometimes because I keep thinking about Ryan and then I feel like I don't love my bf anymore I love Ryan. I can normally tell if someone likes me and occasionaly it feels like Ryan still loves me but then at times it doesn't (these love hate feelings have been going on since September 06)
Is it possible that I love them both? How do I stop loving Ryan? I don't know what to do. Please don't tell me to listen to my heart because my heart is saying Ryan (has always been saying Ryan and Ryans heart hasn't always been saying me.) And my mind is telling me Mark, my bf and I know for a fact that his heart and mind are saying Miranda(me). Please help any advice is needed and appreciated. Thanks.

First- I'm going to tell you that if you are EVER unsure about a current relationship- its not a good sign. So if you're telling Mark that you love him- and you are unsure whether you do or not- then you probably don't. So I wouldn't continue dating Mark. It really isn't fair to him, is it? I know that when I broke up with my ex- it was because I felt it wasn't fair to her that I didn't love her- I just liked her as a more than a friend- not LOVE- and I didn't feel right saying "I love you".

So I think if your heart is telling you that you love Ryan- then you love Ryan. I think you should tell him- that way you could possibly get a relationship. Maybe this time you can stay together =D or you can be good friends for awhile and then maybe he'll start to like you again.

okay so like ive moved recently and i met this guy ((no names)) and i think that i like him, there is a problem, i am a sophomore and hes a senior...i mean hes not the hottest guy i noe but i like him bc he can make me laugh. and like hes not afraid to b himself. but i dont know if he lieks me back bc i never really talk to him, but when i do tlak to him he seems like he wants to talk to me back, so i supposed that he does. and i was just wondering like should i take the time to like talk to him and like get to know him, or like just forget it bc it wont work out?

please help!!!

Number one rule with love lives and relationships: GO FOR IT!

You don't want to look back on your life and wonder "Wow- what would have happened if dated him?". You should definitely just keep a friendship going with him. Get to know him. Who knows- he could end up liking you like you kind of like him.

Obviously since you haven't talked to him much- he can't just suddenly have a crush on you. You have to get to know him before anything happens. Love takes time.

But anyway- go for it- become his friend. You won't regret it!

umm how does youtube/google choose videos to feature???

I could be wrong, but I think it goes by the views it has and the number of ratings it has...

http://youtube.com/browse?s=rf

From http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=55751&query=featured&topic=&type=:

YouTube's members rate videos they like, and we review highly-rated and recent videos for consideration in the "Featured Videos" section of the home page and the featured videos on the "Categories" page. hey. well, i'm getting ready to go into high school. and i'm sooo scared. i'm scared about all of the upperclassman, but the most thing i'm scared of is the work. i know it will be much harder. and i get soooo nervous on tests and stuff, and i'm really scared for finals. i HAVE to graduate. i can't fail. what grades do you have to get to pass classes? can it be an A,B, or C? cause i always thought that if it was D or lower, you couldn't pass your class. in middle school i always got A and B's, but i don't know how, cause i never really understood the work. and i don't remember stuff very well, so everything that i learned in school, i probably won't remember a lot of it. i really don't want to go to high school. on a scale of 1-10, how hard is the work?? i'm not smart, but i'm not dumb eathier.lol. and, i can't figure out my schedule at all. i've asked my cousin, and i'm going to ask my sister when i see her, but i've already asked a couple of my friends, and they don't know eaither. what do i do?!?! i'm freaking out right now! please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks!

R-E-L-A-X!

You'll be fine. The more you freak out- the worse you'll do. Every high school is different with requirements/work load. At my high school- failing is getting an E- which is the equivalent of an F- which is for Failure. So if you get a D, that isn't failing. To pass- you have to get a D or above. If you want to know for your school- you'll probably find out when you get the school policies and code of conduct with your planner/agenda/handbook.

I can probably help you figure out your schedule if you post in my inbox.

The work really depends on your classes. Are you taking honors/AP classes? If so- the work will probably be a little tougher than your other classes. If you pay attention and keep up with lessons and ask questions if you don't understand something- you will succeed. If you don't understand something- but don't want to feel embarrassed in front of your classmates- you can ask the teacher for help after class or after school. They will help you if you ask. They don't bite =D.

If you have trouble studying- maybe get a group of friends together for a study group. Studying with friends is actually very helpful. If you all know parts of a topic in your class- then you probably know all the information as a group- so if you don't understand something- maybe your friend can help.

If you have a test on Friday- don't wait for Thursday to study for it. Cramming for tests and quizzes is NOT smart. Start studying on Monday. If its for Math, for example, study one concept on Monday for 30 minutes, another on Tuesday for 30 minutes, another on Wednesday for 30 minutes, and review it all for 40-45 minutes on Thursday night. When you're doing homework or studying, make sure to take frequent breaks. If you try to sit down and do homework for 5 hours straight, you'll be stressed and overworked. Take a break every 30 or 40 minutes. Get up- do some jumping jacks, get a drink of water, do something just to get off of your feet for about 2-3 minutes. This way- you keep alert and you'll feel less stressed.

All in all- if you work hard, pay attention, and ask questions [remember- no question is a dumb question- except some on here- not yours!]- you will do absolutely fine.

If you need further help- my inbox is OPEN!

Here is a bit about upperclassmen and other aspects of high school from http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=504785:

I was a freshman last year- and I have to say.. it was one of the most scary things I've EVER experienced! I was thrown in the trash can on the first day and it was horrible. Some kid even had to go to the emergency room! It was the WORST first day of school of my entire life! I almost didn't go back!

Haha- so hopefully you didn't take that seriously- because it really wasn't like that at all. I always play that trick on people who ask this question. C'mon- I gotta have a little fun! High school is NOT scary. It actually is a lot more fun. You have more freedoms than middle school and you can take REALLY awesome classes. If you have to chance to take a Speech class- DO IT! You think it will be the dumbest class ever and you'll be really bored- but you get the chance to get really good at speeches- and you'll learn really awesome things! When you get to be a Junior/Senior- take AP and Honors classes- these will impress colleges and they will want you to go to their college if you do well enough on them.

People may tell you that Freshmen year doesn't count for anything- so slacking off won't matter until you're an upperclassmen. This is wrong. Colleges will look at your cumulative GPA- and that includes your freshmen year. Don't slack off; you'll regret it later.

Just to debunk the rumor- There is NOT a "Freshmen Friday". Sure, this used to exist back in the 60s and 70s, but it doesn't anymore. Any school that actually still does it will probably end up getting sued by a bunch of parents. So most don't do it. Chances are, your high school won't do it.

Here is my list of DOs and DON'Ts:

Do:
-Do all of your homework.
-Make new friends [some old ones will naturally just fade away] and do this by just starting up simple conversations with people- and it will eventually lead to a great friendship. Ask someone you may want to get to know for a pencil in class.. that's a classic. Sit with new people at lunch.
-Ask the teacher for help if you need it.

Don't:
-Don't talk to seniors.. they most likely DON'T like you. The won't give you any respect.
-Don't wear revealing clothing- seniors will automatically hate you.

All in all- if you just be yourself- you'll be fine. If you have upperclassmen in any classes- you'll get to know them over the course of the year- and you may end up meeting some really great people. I know that some of my best friends I met at school last year- and most of them were 10th grade or older. Not all seniors hate you- some will be welcoming- but just assume the worst in them, at first. After awhile- you'll know who to avoid and who to warm up to. You'll be fine. Don't worry.

my boyfriend is kinda starting to act different towards me, but then sometimes he acts the same.
and the same is being sweet, caring, wanting me ect.
but then somtimes he acts like he doesnt wanna talk or something, idk. i cant explain it.

but can some one tell me why he would be acting like that?

Maybe, and quite possibly, he's bored of the relationship. That doesn't mean you, specifically, just that the relationship is losing its "spark" it may have had when it first started.
This is COMPLETELY normal- don't worry.

It isn't anything to really worry about- but, like the person below said, he could be cheating [emphasis on could]. This is pretty unlikely- or he'd be acting different all the time.

Just try talking to him- you should be able to since you're dating. Maybe try doing new things together [not necessarily sexual things]: go new places, talk about new things, do something both of you have never done. Anything will work. Just mix it up a little.
