well, you said punk, and emo punk. but if he is in the emo scene he probably wont like a whole lot of punk. however, some good punk bands are:
-sex pistols ("anarchy in the uk")
-the misfits ("die, die my darling")
-adam ant ("beat me")
-the exploited ("sex and violence")
some bands that are considered emo include:
-hawthorne heights ("ohio is for lovers")
-secondhand serenade ("its not over")
