Many of my friends say that I am a good listener and advice giver. Because I have experienced many good and bad situations, I know what it is like to feel down or confused. I am a mother, daughter, sister, girl friend, and friend. And if I can't figure out how to answer a question, I'm sure I know someone who can. And I've come to notice that most of the questions people ask they already know the answer to, they just need a little reassurance. But I will warn you that my policy is, if you ask a stupid question, you will get a stupid answer. But i will say that it is my joy to help anyone with a real problem, so ask away!

Okay is it true that laxatives help/make you lose weight?? and also, if you take too much, is it dangerous?? thankx

yes they can make you lose weight, but that is not their purpose. Laxatives bascially wipe out everything in your stomach and bowels. Because of the effect they have on the body, they are not meant to take on a regular basis, only when you are constipated. If you take them over accessively, it can be evry dangerous and harm your body. Its just like purging or making yourself throw up, just in reverse because things will be going down instead of up. i don't recomend this as a way to lose weight.

i used to go out with this guy.. we went out three times and he broke up with me saying i dont want a relationship right now and stuff but like i want him and i like him and he likes me and he asked me out.. what do i say? i dont wanna get hurt again..

Its plain and simple... if you don't want to get hurt again... tell him no.

How can you tell the difference between normal discharge and a yeast infection?

normal discharge is a whitish color, isn't very thick, and usually has no smell. Yeast or nay infection will be thick, yellowish, brownish, or even greenish, and have an odor.

Just out of curiosity, what does "hooking up" mean to you? It seems to mean something different for everybody...

As far as I'm concerned, hooking up is making out, but you're right so many people have different interpretations of it, thats why I just don't use the term.

NO its not wrong, age is just a number, but be careful, becasue if you guys have sex and your parents or some authority find out he can get in alot of trouble. Once your 16, your at an age of conscent,as long as the guy is the maximum of 4 years older than you, which he is, sp if they tried to get him in trouble but you said you were willing, nothing could happen to him. but since ytou are only 14, he could get into to trouble. If you guys decide to stay together, I suggest you ride it out til your 16, and not let anyone know you guys are having sex if you are, until then.

im 13/f and my sister whose 19 moved out about 1 1/2 yrs ago nd recently moved back in. She had a really controlling boyfriend and they were hooked on heroine. My mom had agreed to let her move back in if she stopped doin in. She moved back in about 2mnths ago and got rid of the old boyfriend. She got a new boyfriend but she's still using drugs. it's not just a once in a while thing either, its everyday, and as i said, my mom doesnt know and shes always saying how proud she is that my sister stopped doing drugs. I don't want to wreck me nd my sistersn relationship, but i think my mom needs to know because im afraid my sister will hurt herself.

You're right, you do need to tell your mom. And you need to telll her ASAP. Heroin is like one of teh worst drugs to be on, it is so addictive, so i can believe that she hasn't stopped, because it is very hard to stop. You need to tell you mom becasue she needs help.

you can get it from weariong tight jeans or underwear. but you can also just get one form nothing. sometimes your hormones get all messed up and thats a way your body lets you know.

I'm playing a character in play where i have to keep a straight face while someone sings to me in German... does anyone have any advice on how to keep a straight face and not laugh or giggle during the performance?

Try thinking of something serious. or just not thinking about the person singing to you at all. Like don't look at the person, look behind him or something, but still pay attetion to whats going on around you so you dno;t miss any lines or anything.

hi. im in 9th grade and theres about 5 or 6 girls who are obsessed with me! they are ny best friends but they treat me differently than everyone else ib our group. they fight over who gets to sit next to me, who gets to b my partner and stuff like that. like if i ask someone to do me a favor they jump to it like their life depends on it. im glad they love me n all but its kind of annoying and obsessive what should i do?

tell them to stop being that way. Let them know you are just a regular person, and you don't need that special attention from them. they will still be your friends either way, so they don't need to try so hard.

ok well my mom told me last week she thinks its time i go see a gyno. well i dont have a problem with it b/c i am sexually active and i think i might need to go. well im guessing she obviously thinks me and my boyfriend are doing stuff if she's making me go there. well im really scared to tell her so im going to keep it from her as long as i can. my friends have told me that the questions they ask you are confidentail.. well is there any way i can ask the gyno if i can get birth control and they can give it to me without my mom thinking anything like can they tell her she should probably put me on it to regulate my period? i know this is weird but what do u think?

You could hav ethe doctor tell her it is recomended to regulate your period, but I'm not sure if teh doctor will do it. But no matter what, if you want to get birth control, and its from your like doctor/gyno, which your mom knows, she will have to know you are on it, because it will come up when your insurance pays for it. If I were you i would just get all teh stress off my back, and be honest with her. Since she was the one suggesting to see a gyno, she must think you are sexually active. if you can't just flat out tell her that you are, try easing into it. Go talk to her and ask her "hey mom, why exactly do you think its time for me to visit a gyno? and what is going to happen when I go, and what will they ask and offer me?" if you do it this way,it might be easier to tell her the truth. Its no good to keep secrets from your parents, especially your mom, you wanna keep the honesty there with your mom.

I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 17. We've been together for 16 months and i truly believe that we are madly in love. I somewhat believe he is the one for me. He's a senior and will be graduating this year, I'm only a junior. I'm really scared of whats going to happen when he graduates. I've seen movies and shows where the couple breaks up because the one goes to college and never sees each other or whatever the deal is. He's not sure where he is going yet but i really hope it all works out. he mentioned something before like "if we're still going out next summer before i go away to college, i'll propose." It's scary how i feel like i could run away and get married with him right now. what do u think about this situation?

I think you should sit and talk to him about whats going to become of your future together when he goes to college, just because of the fact of him saying "IF we're still going out next summer..." What does he mean "if"? Talk to him and let him knwo you want to know exactly where his heart is at, no beating around the bush. because it would be really sad, if after all that time, you just broke becasue he's going to college.

well on saturday the 18th me and my bestfriend went and take pictures at the mall and her cousin is my ex boyfriend and she gave a pic to her aunt and her cousin (D = ex boyfriend) saw it and his bro (a good friend of mine) saw it and was like "D" hey look and he was like "whos that?" and his bro recgonized me but my ex boyfriend didnt..then later on the phone my ex was all "you kno you look really good in your pic"... what am i supposed to think of that..because he still says he loves me and misses me but he didnt recgonize me?!

Umm... if he loves you so much and misses you so much like he says, he would've known what you look like. He probably doesn't even remember what you look like, and is only telling you he cares and stuff, becasue now he saw your pic, and you looked good, so now he's realizing what he lost. If I were you I wouldn't give him the time of day.

My boyfriend is at war, and I miss him very much. I need advice on how to get through this tough time without him at home. The kids keep asking about him and I haven't answered them yet. I'm not sure what to tell them when they ask why they're Dad is over in Iraq. This can be a very difficult situation. It is probbaly really hard on you since you have children with your boyfriend. If I knew how old your children were, it might be easier to tell you what to tell them. If they are very young, you should probably just tell them that thier Daddy is at work, becasue technically, that is what he is doing. You don't wanan deveistate a young child with talk of war. But, if they are old enough to understand what is going on, you can be honest and say he is Iraq fighting for our country, trying to keep the bad terrorist away from us. Let them know to have faith and, and prey for him. he will be home soon.

Just tell his brother where he is. I mean, yeah he's gonna be in alot of trouble, and he may be mad at you, but oh well. All in all, its for his own good.

you can try and see what his problem is, but chances are he won't budge. when a guy doesn't like you anymore, he juts doens't like you. there is no way you can make him or anyone like you. they just do or don't. if i were you i wouldnt be all up his ass about either, because then you will just seem desperate and he will probably not like you even more. you're just gonna hve to get over him. i know its hard, but it will gte easier wit time. guys are jerks... i know.

13 is still kinda young, your Mom is probably being over protective becasue she sees all these 13-14 yr old girls on tv, that are out having sex, and having babies and stuff, and she probably paranoyed that soem boy may pressure you and you be stuck in those type of predicaments. What you need to do is is sit and explain to your mom, that you are not that type of girl, and you won't make those mistakes, because you are not intrested in those things. Let her know, yeah you like boys, but no you are not stupid.

sO...i've been a vegatarian my whole life... but i never have ne protein! is that bad? what can i eat? (not eggs) and am i really unhealthy?

You can be a vegetarian and still healthy. If you think you are lacking protein, try taking a daily vitamin. Also, beans, peanut butter, and all nuts have protein in them too. There are also protien shakes, but I'm not sure if thats an option for you because they have milk in them, and you may not eat dairy.
