Problem with answering "Why do you like me?";
I'm terrible with words. I must be terrible... I don't know how to put it into words that well.
I don't want to say something like
I like you because you're interesting... dot dot dot.
Then she'll be like only because of that? etc.
I really love my girlfriend but she keeps assuming that I'll go for another. She's like no other girl I've known, I highly doubt I would go for another.
Have any ideas that could help me think on how to word my response on that?
I think it wouldn't be a good idea to ask someone to type out.
And I know. If I was a good boyfriend I'd know how to answer this. I want my response to be perfect. Apparently I am not a good boyfriend or close to being perfect. (link)
|
Dear Unsure Boyfriend,
Do not worry! I think all girls are worried that their boyfriend will go for another girl. Even I worry about that. I've been with my boyfriend for almost nine months, and I still have fleeting thoughts about how maybe I'm not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, thin enough, fun enough, outgoing enough etc., etc., etc.
Try to make your girl feel loved and confident around you. My boyfriend does this by telling me how he feels. I really appreciate this - I'm quite sure your girlfriend would too. If you love her, tell her! If you think she looked nice, let her know. If you appreciated something she did or said, thank her. Tell her exactly what you told us -- "I really love my girlfriend..." "...She's like no other girl I've known..." Those simple words alone would be enough to make her feel quite confident in you. Don't even leave room for another girl to come in, let her know how genuinely special and unique she is to you, how lovely, sweet, and wonderful, how much you love her.
Now she still might be afraid that another girl will come in and take you away from her; that's really what we're all afraid of. As girls, we have these terrible fears (or so they seem to be terrible) that we are not pretty enough, or thin enough, or smart enough, or funny enough, or interesting enough, or tall enough, or short enough, or rich enough, or shy enough, or outgoing enough, or forward enough, or withdrawn enough, or comforting enough... etc. The list goes on and on. We want to be perfect for the men we honestly love. We try really hard too. She's simply afraid that she's not pretty enough, thin enough, smart enough, strong enough, feminine enough [etc., etc., etc.] for you, and another girl who is much prettier, thinner, smarter, stronger, more feminine, bouncy -- whatever it is -- will come in and snatch the best thing that ever happened away from her. [That would be you.]
Comfort her. Tell her how much she means to you and that you love her greatly and love everything about her.
I wrote a list of 100 things that I love about my boyfriend. Oh, it was so simple! There are so many things I love about him that the hardest part was choosing which ones to put on the list! You could try doing that, anything of that sort will make her heart sing and become renewed and have greater faith in your love for her. I'm sure she knows you love her, but try to calm her fears.
Girls are just like that. We don't know how to control it really. Hopefully I've helped you enough to know what to say to her.
Best wishes,

i need to know is right...is it right to get your cat declawed...i rate 5's (link)
|
I don't think it is. Do you want your toenails pulled off, never to grow back? Think about how painful that is. Sure, you'll have pain meds... the first day. Your cat doesn't get pain meds - it takes up to 4 weeks, I do believe, for your cat's paws to heal. During those four weeks, do you think your cat will just sit around doing nothing? No, they have to walk SOMETIME, walking on those feet that just had nails ripped out of them. My cat lost one nail in a fight with a dog and he was in extreme pain all the time for around 3 weeks. He's still sensitive about that paw, doesn't like us to mess with it, etc.
Instead of declawing your cat, try alternitive meathods - such as training your cat. Each time you see your cat scratching its claws on a piece of furniture, spray it with some water (in a spray bottle, wide range spray, not stream. Just a little water). The cat will get the idea pretty quickly - if he scratches something he's not supposed to, he gets sprayed with water.

Quick question... What sites do you visit other than advicenators? I tend to get bored on the internet and I am looking for some cool places to go. Thanks. (link)
|
I like to browse through the icons on http://www.iconator.com/. Besides this, http://www.homestarrunner.com/ is a hilarious place - not just for kids! http://www.stupidvideos.com/ is hilarious, but this is real people doing real dumb stuff, which is awesome. I like to play the skateboarding game on http://www.disney.go.com/, but none of the other games interest me. If you like RPGs, then check out http://www.runescape.com/. If you're into SIM games (specifically about horses) check out http://www.horseland.com/
Other than that... try Google. Google simple key words like "RPGs" or "Role Play Games" or "SIM games" or "arcade games" etc.

i have like this cold sore kinda thing on my lip. what should i do to get rid of it? i'm already using this product called zilactin. how long will it last?? (link)

Zilactin B is what I always use when I have a cold sore or fever blister (they are virtually the same thing). Just keep the Zilactin on there and it should go away in a few days, 3-6 days usally.

when people say word what are they replacing ? what does it mean ? yes I know im kind of slow when it comes to these. I'll rate (link)
|
When someone says "Word" they are replacing "Yes," "Sure," or "I agree." I'm using the names "Amy," "Leah," "Holli" and "Jake" in my examples.
[Amy] : Jake is hot.
[Leah] : Word.
[Holli] : Amy has a cute jacket.
[Leah] : Word.
[Jake] : Want to come to the movies tonight?
[Leah] : Word.
[Amy] : Jake is a great guitar player.
[Holli] : Word.
You get the idea. 'Word' is the response, replacing 'Yes,' 'Sure,' or 'I agree.'

im 14/f and the guy is 15 okay so i have liked this guy for about a year now but like last night after i left church (he goes to my church) i dont know but i had butterflies in my stomach and like i couldnt sleep well at night and like this morning i had butterflies and now i get to see him (i dont talk to him in person but just online) does anyone know what that means? (link)
|
It means you're excited about getting to see the guy you like. Simple as that. You are just ... excited basically. I get that way too! I've been going out with my boyfriend for almost nine months and I still feel the butterflies flitting and fluttering around in my stomach, and some nights I'm so excited about seeing him that I can't sleep at all.
It's normal.
-FunnyCide
|
Today when I went to change my pad ( I'm on my period) the blood was a dark red pretty much a brown color. Is this normal? (link)
|
Yes. Darker reds, browns and such are normal. "Clumps" are to be expected as well. This is just part of the whole thing. Your uterus lining isn't one color, so a few variations of a few, closely related colors can be expected.

I know everyone gets sick of these "I like him, but I don't know what to do!" questions, but I'm desperate here. :o)
Anyway, I like this guy. He's kind of hard for me to talk to, as he is not in any of my classes (so I don't see him often), plus I'm too nervous to start a conversation. What irks me is that he is a friend of one of my (female) friends, and I think he likes her (She doesn't like him like that). He talks to her a lot, and barely ever talks to me. It bothers me so, SO much!!! This (female) friend of mine is such a boy magnet and the guys never take a second glance at me. What should I do? Thanks! (link)
|
I think.. I know how you feel. The whole boy magnet friend thing.. yeah. And I've got a double-hitter here! Whoo! I've got a girl magnet and a boy magnet as friends. Wow.
Well, try talking to your "magnetically charged" friend and letting her know that while you love her - a lot - it still bothers you that none of the guys talk to you while she gets all their attention.
You know you're worth more than that. Boys may go for the pretty face, but a true boyfriend will go for what's on the inside - your character, personality, your mind.
My boyfriend... yeah, he once had a thing for my magnetically charged friend. She's... well, she's got a VERY pretty face, as well as a great personality. Anyway, long story short, she hurt him - she wasn't used to sensitive guys - and we became better friends... blah, blah, blah. Ok, point? Point is, he can't like me because I'm pretty. He can't like me because I'm thin. He can't like me because I have a great body. There is no way that he could like me because of how I look. It is simply impossible. But because I realize that there are girls who are so much prettier than I am, and he's here with me, I know that he must be attracted to my character and personality and mind (who knows why, though!?).
I'm sure you're gorgeous, a beautiful girl with her whole life ahead of her, who simply isn't shining to her full potential because she feels lesser than one of her good friends. I know how this is... well, not being a beautiful girl, but being lesser than one of my good friends.
Try being more bold. Try starting a conversation for once. I'm sure you could do it! Just smile and say 'Hi!'. If he doesn't respond... well, I would go up to him and say it more clearly to his face. Ask your boy-magnet friend to cool her guns and help you to get started on a great friendship (relationship, maybe???) with this boy! If she's a good friend, I'm sure she'll be willing to help you. Try asking her to include you in a conversation with this guy.
Some people don't reach their full potential until later, when they realize how much they're worth.
It's better to realize it now -- you are worth so much more than you think!
Now, if I have the story straight... this boy likes your good friend and your friend doesn't like him 'that way' and he talks to her like five times more than he talks to you. Ouch. That hurts. I know how you feel, though.
If you don't already journal, try keeping a diary.
"Paper has more patience than people." -- Anne Frank, in Anne Frank, A Diary Of A Young Girl
Think about what Anne went through. Her story sounds much like this boy magnet. She must've been a very pretty girl with an astounding personality. But maybe it's not so easy to have guys all over you... maybe it's not as hard as it is to have the guys totally ignore you either.
Just realize, God made a man for you. Maybe his time hasn't come to see who you really are and how lovely and wonderful you truly are.
Talk to your friend, and don't lose heart.
It could be so much worse.

i weigh 200 pounds...and i'm 15 and a girl is that fat? ((this is serious))
please helpā„
i dont want advice on how to lose the wieght, cause i didnt ask for that advice.i just want to know if that is seriously overweight. (link)
|
Your height and weight are directly related to each other. If you're close to six and a half feet tall... nah, that's not a big deal. [To put this in perspective, my best friend and my boyfriend are both about 5'10'' or so. They both weigh around 140 pounds. They are both guys -- obviously.] So.. yeah, I would say that's overweight.
Go to http://www.am-i-fat.com/ and put in your height and weight and it will tell you your BMI (Body Mass Index) and if you should stay how you are, eat more, or lose weight.

My parents have been telling me Santa Claus is real..I mean I am trying to believe but my parents have given off to MANY clues. I asked my mom the other day and she gave me the whole pep talk. Is Santa Claus real or is it his "helpers" who live w/ me? (link)
|
I'm sorry... how old are you?
Let's put it this way. I'm one of "Santa's helpers" at my house.
Both of my sisters still believe, but they are not prompted to believe, they believe out of their own choice. They are both younger than me though. [11 and 8]
I "found out" that Santa was not real when I was about 8. I don't exactly remember how old I was, but around that age. I am a very logical person (well, most of the time. ;]) and put together the facts. There is no way that one man could possibly distribute that many gifts in one night - he'd have to be moving faster than light! And that's one heck of a sleigh, to hold that many gifts. And what about all the homeless children, or children who don't live in families who are as comfortable as others? They don't get gifts. 'Santa' shouldn't be picky, if he were real, he'd give gifts to all the children. Not just the ones who have more money.
St. Nickolas was a very real person, who Santa Claus is named after, in fact. But Old St. Nick died a good while back.
Believing in Santa may be fun, but he's only as real as the Tooth Fairy is.

if my period wasnt late at all and its only just started and not really really heavy does that mean that im pregnant? (link)
|
Okay, obviously I'm assuming that you had sex. That's a no brainer.
Second, I'm assuming that you didn't use protection and he did not pull out.
Now, I'll relieve your fears.
There is very little chance that you are pregnant. Your period will fluctuate in how heavy and light it is up until your late teens and into your early twenties.
Your body is having a period - the period "blood" is the uterus lining that your body does not need because the egg that was produced was not fertilized. There is a very small chance (VERY small) that a sperm cell could survive until you're off your period, but if you take good care of yourself, take regular showers and such, you'll not get pregnant.
If you are going to be sexually active, and you are not prepared to care for a child, you should consider being on The Pill. Always use a condom too. Although neither are 100% safe, it's better than nothing.

okay i have cut myself in the past and kinda still do...i am anorexic and get upset easily...when my mom found out i was cutting she said "Dont be a stupid f***"...and i asked to see a therapist and she said i dont need to..she jus doesnt understand...i dont know what to do...i am so anorexic ive lost my period and i am starting to cut again ((along with suicide poems)) and i obviously cant ask her...school counselours dont work..i've tried..please help! (link)
|
Yeah...
I don't know what to tell you.
I'm with you, sister. Same.. same thing.
Okay, maybe not exactly the same, but close. I've cut in the past, and I've recently started again. Heavy cutting.. shaving razors, knives, the kind of razors used to clean windows.. I'm not proud of it, but I can say that I know how you feel. Hah, ironically, anorexia is teamed with the cutting for me too. I've lost like five pounds in the last month... which may not seem like a lot, but for a five-foot-nothing girl who weighs around 90 pounds... that's alot. It shows. I haven't lost my period, not yet. But I know how you feel. Hmm... [gets evil look in eyes] I should just continue to not eat in order to not have a period. Woudln't that be nice. ... Just kidding.
Today a class that I'm in went out for brunch at Chick-Fil-A. My boyfriend and my other two best friends were both there. Everyone around me was eating - but not me. My boyfriend and best friends know about the cutting and eating problems. They tried to get me to eat, but their tries were futile. Yesterday I had half of half a chicken sandwich. That's it. Today I've had a piece of toast. That's probably all I'll eat today too. I'm so full right now it's not even funny.
We're in the same proverbial boat.
My mom wouldn't understand if I tried to tell her. She wouldn't let me see a therapist or anything. I doubt she'd call me what your mom did.. though she might say I was full of "it." [You know what "it" is.]
Can I suggest seeing a Pastor? Perhaps a youth pastor? They are trained specially for teens and our life problems. If not a youth pastor, maybe a senior pastor (the guy who preaches every Sunday). I'm... thinking about talking to my pastor. Not my youth pastor, of course, but the senior pastor. He's a little older (like.. oh, say, 30 years or so) and a little wiser.
Confide in a friend. That's what I'm doing. My boyfriend and I ... yeah, we talk a lot. About this. I showed him the cuts on my ankel and shoulder this morning. I think he was pretty astonished, didn't really expect to see it that bad. My best friend, who is a guy, is also someone I turn to alot. He is really supportive and sweet about it. He can really help lift my spirits when I'm down. What I do whenever I REALLLLLLLLY want to cut ... I talk to either my boyfriend or my best friend. If I can't talk to either one of them, then I try to draw, snap a rubber band on the already present cuts or put ice on a specific area of skin (like leg or arm) until it turns red. If none of that works... well, I give in. Which is sad, but I do give in sometimes.
I spent four hours yesterday drawing. One picture. 11x14 inches. I took a picture of my own hand, holding a knife, put the chip in my computer and blew the picture up. I drew my own hand and the knife, added some blood dripping off of the knife onto an ever growing pool of blood on a table. The hand, knife, blood and table were shaded enough to make them appear realistic, but the rest of it - the background - was dark grey. But that was a little dull, so I put in black (I mean BLACK) zig-zagged cut shapes in the background. Like cracks in a wall or something, only smaller, like it was done with .. a knife.
I showed that to my boyfriend too. He said it was so good that it was bad. Haha.. sadly, or ironically, it's one of the best I've ever done. Amazing what you can do when you're depressed, huh?
Poetry is also a good way to express your feelings.
I would confide in a friend or two, and whenever you feel tempted to cut, try snapping rubber bands, singing your favorite songs, reading a funny book (lifting your spirits, you know), calling the friend you confided in, or putting ice on an area of skin.
Try to eat a little something.
Do you have a boyfriend? Try telling him, if you have one. Unless you think he would reject you. Thankfully, my boyfriend is also the best friend I have. I don't hesitate to tell him anything. I love him. But it hurts him when I cut, and when I don't eat, so I'm trying to stop for him.
Other than that, I'm not sure what to say. Other than... well, you're not alone.
God bless,
-FunnyCide

Can anyone translate the line from 'Romeo and Juliet' for me?
Romeo, Romeo. Wherefore art thou, Romeo? (link)
|
I love Shakespeare!!
Common misconceptions lead people to believe that the line "Romeo, Romeo. Wherefor art thou, Romeo?" truely means "Where are you?" Which is wrong. What Juliet means is "Romeo, Romeo. Why is your name Romeo?" Because the next line is like 'deny thy father, and refuse thy name' or something, and that's talking about his last name. She's a Capulet (I'm not exactly sure how these are spelled.. it's been a while since I read this one) and Romeo is a Montegue, and their familys are fuding. They aren't allowed to be together. Juliet is asking why he has to be Romeo Montegue and why she has to be Juliet Capulet, not where he is.
I sometimes use these books called "Shakespeare Made Easy," they have the old English version of the text on the right and the modern English version on the left. So you can compare them side by side. I like them alot, they're not expensive, a few dollars a piece, and if you buy them you can write in them.. which I like to do. Notes, yeah. They make everything much easier.

Yes, the E-mail address is required. However, if you go to your Profile Settings, you can adjust HOW many E-mails you recieve. For instance, you can set it so you get E-mails where there's "a fascinating update in the site" or "when someone asks you a question" or when "someone answers your question." Or you could set it so you get no E-mails - that's what I did.
But the E-mail address is required.

Honestly, I think it is. My family is not as well off, apparantly, as yours is. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, but that sounds like more than the amount of gifts I might recieve from ALL of my family (extended, aunts, uncles etc.) for Christmas.
However, if that's what you want.... well, you can't really STOP him from getting it for you.

What is the difference between goth, punk and emo? Also, can you be christian and goth, or punk. (link)
|
Well... I just got called 'punk' or 'maybe gothic' a few minutes ago, and I'm a Christian.
Gothic : Black. Black. Black. Depression. Lots of depression. Usually has an addiction of some sort (cutting, drugs, anorexia, etc.), think... death. Suicidal. Heavy metal or hard core music, with some screamo and emo music. Baggy clothes. Makeup, even on guys. Black fingernails, even on guys. Skulls. Spikes. Lots of them.
Punk : Black. Black. Black. Depression. A good bit of depression. Sometimes has an addiction of some sort (cutting, drugs, anorexia, etc.), think.. heavy music. Death. Usually are skateboarders. Into extreme sports, something dangerous. Chains. Either baggy or tight clothes. Makeup, even on guys. Black fingernails, even on guys. Skulls. Spikes. Not as much as with gothic.
Emo : Short for EMOTIONAL. Wears their heart on their sleeve. Black. Black. Depression. A heck of a lot of depression. Easilly heartbroken. Think... tight T-shirts, band T-shirts especially. Girlpants on boys, boypants on girls. Think.. scene. Scene hair. Scene shoes. Scene jewelry. Emo music (such as Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Green Day). Music is depressing. Whining, sometimes screamo music. Black nails. Dark makeup.
That, is all stereotypical. STEREOTYPICAL.
You set your own rules for whichever you please.
Can you be a Christian and any of those above things? YES. I think you can be.
There are suicidal Christians. Moses and Elijah are two good examples of suicidal Christians. They weren't gothic... but suicidal nonetheless.
If you're going around swearing, living life for the next high, or the next party, or the next time you'll have sex; or if your life is centered around evil, I'd question your faith.
Can you enjoy dressing like a goth, punk, or emo kid? Yes. It's perfectly normal.
I wear alot of black, my nails are black, but I'm not depressed. I don't wear makeup at all. I listen to a wide variety of bands (Skillet, Superchic[k], Piller, Underoath, OC Supertones, Three Doors Down). But I do NOT label myself as ANYTHING other than ... "unique." Hehe. Maybe a little crazy too.
You realize that sometimes people will go around talking and dressing like something because they need (or just want) attention.
Yes, sometimes you NEED attention. It's ... really important to your well being. Trust me.
Do whatever YOU think is right. Remember, all that stuff ^^^ is from ME and not YOU and is all based on stereotypes that I've seen and heard.

whats pros
and
cons?? (link)
|
Pros = the good things in a certain situtuation.
Cons = the bad things the same situation.
Examples :
The pros and cons of skateboarding :
Pros : you're having fun, it's great exercise, you hang out with your friends.
Cons : you could break your leg and you'll get labled a "skater" or "punk."
Pros and cons of having a cat :
Pros : a cat is a small pet, usually travel friendly, loyal, and can catch mice for you.
Cons : you have to clean the litter box and perhaps a "present" or two.
You get the idea.

So, I'm 14 (female) and I've never had even the slightest crush on anyone. I've never done anything with a guy (not even a hug) before either (hense the "ms.innocent" part). Is there something wrong with me? I think I might like someone now, but I'm not sure. You see, I'm extremely shy around people so those butterflies could just be anxiety for me. I was also wondering if there's a way that I could tell if i truely like someone??? (link)
|
Oh, sweetie! You're totally normal! Some girls won't feel the "tug at their hearts" that shows that they like someone until they're in their later teen years. Frankly, those girls may be better off. I have friends who are so obsessed with boys that you can hardly talk to them because .. ugh, they're so obsessed! [Funniest thing, the boy-craziest girls aren't friends.. they can't stand each other!]
It's okay that you're still innocent. That's fine. You know, it's good. I've never done anything with my boyfriend of eight months past a hug and holdin' hands. And holding hands is rare. Very, very, very rare. I think that's a ... two time only rare thing.
Being innocent is nothing to be ashamed of, though the world will try and tell you otherwise. Everywhere you look, you see beautiful people, all sleeping around, doing drugs, drinking, smoking, making out etc. But really, do you think those people are happy? Hmm.. I don't know. I wouldn't think so. If you have to continually rely on sex and drugs to make you happy... no, that's not genuine happiness. I know this from .. well, almost experience. I'm a virgin, never done drugs, drank or smoked. But my cousins are not so innocent. My sixteen-year-old cousin gave her virginity away at fourteen [:O] and is uber popular. She's pretty and thin, has had her share of drugs and booze.. but she's not happy. She could have her choice of guys, but the one she wants won't have her because of the things she's done. She messed herself up. She will, hopefully, be able to find happiness someday within herself - not having to rely on others.
There's nothing wrong with being shy either. I know I am! I was SO shy before I started going out with my boyfriend. It was almost funny how shy I was. I didn't talk to anyone face-to-face. I was like "you wanna talk to me, IM me. Here's my SN." I couldn't talk to people face-to-face because there's so much you can see by reading people's eyes. Facial expressions are dead giveaways. My eyes... My eyes are the window to my soul. I know that if someone can see my eyes, they will (unless they're just stupid) know what I'm truly thinking. That's why I often look at the ground. ;) When I started going out with my boyfriend, it was so amazing at how much I came out of my shell. It was like... utter acceptance. [That's something BIG for me.]
Hmm... do you ever find yourself thinking about this person? Dreaming about him? Daydreaming about him? Worrying about him? That's something I did.. when I liked a guy (I've only liked two, so yeah, I'm not really experienced either) I'd always worry about his safety. His wellbeing. Is he okay? Is he sick? Etc. Do you ever think about what it would be like to hug this boy? Or kiss him? Or maybe more than that? Marry him? Go for a long walk with him? In a beautiful meadow or perhaps on the beach? Holding hands? Etc. Those are signs of liking someone.
Only you can guide yourself into knowing if you truly like someone or not.
Though your heart is on the left, it is always right. :)
Trust yourself.
Believe in yourself.
Trust your friends.
Believe in your friends.
Rely on your friends.
Depend on your friends, family, and yourself.
Seek spiritual guidence. That's sometimes what you'll need to come out of your shell.
You'll know when it's the right time. There is a time for everything.

Yes! Wear them! I made a shirt once! Well.. I didn't make it, really, I just painted on it. :) I loved that shirt. I think you should be proud of the talents you have, not afraid of them.
