Yes, the E-mail address is required. However, if you go to your Profile Settings, you can adjust HOW many E-mails you recieve. For instance, you can set it so you get E-mails where there's "a fascinating update in the site" or "when someone asks you a question" or when "someone answers your question." Or you could set it so you get no E-mails - that's what I did.

Yeah, I was getting sick of having all these emails from them too!! haha.
Go to profile setting and where it says "Should we email you when someone asks you a question" put No and so on with the other questions.

Lol you have too. But you can just change it so they won't email you. Just go to your Profile Settings. Then under the part that says "Stuff we never show anyone", look under that and it should say "When should we email you" Then you read those things and edit w/e you want. =)

Yes, it's one of the rules that you have to follow on this site. You can change your settings so that messages won't be emailed to you. Go to your Profile Settings, [Link](Mouse over link to see full location), and in the second section, you can check "no" and you won't be emailed.
