I have Bipolar 1 Disorder. I hate taking all these medications and always going to doctors appointments, but life is too short to let mental illness get the better of me.


Often times life is a challenge, and nobody knows that better than me. I wake up wondering if this is going to be a day my illness overpowers my meds, and either sends me flying like a bat out of hell, or leaves me laying on the couch like a wet dish rag.


Thank all that is good in the world that I have an excellent support system at home.

Today i went to the gyno & got a papsmear because i have HPV & i need to be tested every 6 months... so ... now i`m spotting. i`m supposed to get my period at the end of the week so i`m either pregnant, or could it have something to do with the papsmear.. i`m freaking out.

When I was pregnant and had to have my cervix checked regularly, my OB/GYN told me that spotting is normal after a cervical exam.
I would assume the same goes for paps. You should call and ask your OB/GYN if this is normal for you.

I was suppost to get my period on like the 13th and it's the 19th and it still hasn't come. I've only had my period for a year so is this normal?
I'm scared to go anywhere like the beach or something because it might come then and I won't be able to do anything about it.

And I also want to start shaving "down there" but i'm scared my skin will get like irrated or i'll get like an infected hair when it grows back and I don't want to have to go to the doctor for that. Any tips?

Through your teen years, an irregular period cycle is quite normal. Sometimes one month it's on time, the next month it's late, the following it's early. No worries.

Hey all:]
My father has a Mercedes Benz, and he was washing his car yesterday. Now, when he goes to turn his car on, it will not have a strong engine, then turn off. It was fine before he washed it. It isnt the battery, and the motor was new.

Any ideas what it could be?
Oh, and he hooked up a fan to blow under the hood of the car, and nothing happened.

Well, if there was semen on his fingers, then it is a possibility.

If you become 2 weeks late for your next due period, get tested. Why? Because if you are a teen, your periods may likely still be irregular. If you are not a teen, 1 week will suffice.

Also, because you want to allow enough time for the pregnancy hormone to be strong enough in your urine for the test to accurately read it. If you take it too soon, you run a higher risk of a false negative, which is far more likely than a false positive.

The one I have is an Epson Picture Mate.

I just print photos off of my computer's printer. I don't even own a photo printer.
I just put in picture paper rather than typing paper. It is just best that you get instant drying photo paper.

ok well people say that you can train a dog to hump things. is that true? and another question, why would people want to train their dogs to hump things???

Well, I would imagine what they mean by that is that since it is natural that a dog wants to hump things, you can train them to hump a particular thing (like a stuffed animal) to keep it from humping something like your leg or your cat.

A dog doesn't hump only because of hormones- that is just half of it. It will also hump to show power. For example, if you see one male dog humping another male.

As for if they mean they teach dogs to hump certain things for the fun of it, well, that's just twisted.

I went to my myspace and opened up a bulletin. This person posted something saying that I'll die in 3 days if I don't repost. And it was serious! It even said. And nobody ever posts I'm serious unless they're serious! I'm so freaked, I locked all the doors, windows and everything. My parents are so busy they don't notice. You should know what that means. Ok, you obviously don't realize that you are seriously flipping out right now for no reason what so ever.

Just because some anonymous bulletin on a website tells you are going to have bad luck or even die, doesn't mean you should take it seriously.

That's kind of like being superstitious over chain letters, or horoscopes that say something like "Do this or you will have oodles and gobs of bad luck for the next 60 days."

Or, it's like me telling you: "You will have green toe nail fungus that will spread to your earlobe in 3 days! I'm serious!" Now, surely you don't believe me, just because I tell you I'm serious, right?

It isn't something to be taken seriously, and if you are sincere in saying you are going to these extremes to ward off a death that is just make believe, then you should seriously consider not going to such places on the internet. Ok? No since freaking yourself out over something that isn't worth your adrenaline. :)

Well, because realistically, we can't tell a person what is the best gift to get for their father. We don't know the man, where as the person asking does.
See, the best we can give for an answer is probably the age old things such as a tie, for example. We can't give an idea of something that has a personal touch when we don't know him from Adam.

recently i have been getting lightheaded really easily.. like when i work out really hard or when i just get up too fast in the mornings.. i'm thinking its my blood sugar.. but i am not sure

if you have any ideas on maybe what it is or what i need to eat to make it better than fill me in... it is just weird becasue i always have a ton of energy i just have been getting light headed.

The only way to know if it is your blood sugar, is to see your doctor.

If they think it is a sugar problem, they will have you take a glucose test. You will drink a sugary liquid at their office (generally on an empty stomach, but it just depends) and you will be asked to wait for 1 hour, consuming nothing but water, and when the time is up they will test your blood sugar.

So, sugar problems or not, you should see your doctor anyhow.

i'm on iron supplements twice a day for my anemia. this is causing, yep, you guessed it- constipation! i haven't pooed in about 4 days, but i haven't had any painful cramps yet. what should i eat that has good fiber and when should i eat this? thanks!

Well, in a couple days, you'll be hurting. Call your doctor to see what would be best to take along side your iron supplement. I'd get on the phone right now, considering it may take them a day to return your call.

I thought i had a miscarage a couple months ago. My period has been really messed up and ive been getting it every two weeks and this time ive had it for over a week. recently someone told me yu can be pregnant and have yur period threw yur pregnancy. is this true should i go to the doctors and see if i am?

I just had a baby and my OB said that yes, spotting can occur during pregnancy, but any bleeding should be reported to her immediately, considering such things are generally big warning signs.
I suggest you set an appointment with your doctor or OB/GYN and make sure you don't have a problem.
I would guess that you aren't pregnant, but you should see your doctor anyway. They'll tell you if you are or not.

i have a brownish lump on my breast like half inch from my nipple and im 13 most of my relatives and family died from cancer. could i have breast cancer?...my mom said there was a very high chance id have cancer but i never told her about it cuz ive had it about 2 days so far.....any doctor out there or anyone willing to help mee

You should see your doctor if you have a lump in your breast, as soon as you can. Never let such a thing go with merely the assumption that you are too young for breast cancer.

On my paternal side of my family, all but 2 people have died of cancer, and that is more than 10 people who have died of cancer- most of them women with cancer that started in their breast or cervix. Ever since I was getting physicals for sports in school, (Junior High...) I have been checked for lumps in my breasts and pap/pelvic checks for my own protection.

Early detection is the higher chance you have of nipping it in the bud if it does happen to be cancerous. If you were to assume you are too young to have cancer, and happen to have a cancerous lump, it could spread to your lung, your bone, your heart, your brain. You know, places where it may be inoperable.

Better to be safe than sorry, for certain. If you feel a lump in your breast, you should have it checked no matter if you are 13 or 30. That's no joke.

Keep in mind one thing: You get your lump checked out and it is a cyst, or something that isn't cancerous- think of how relieved you would feel rather than continuing to not know, wondering and worrying.

Go to the doctor, ok?

Well, a mole can be just a mole, or it could be a suspicious mole. I don't think that it being itchy diagnoses it as skin cancer, but you should see your doctor if you feel it is suspicious.
They will cut it off and send it to the lab for biopsy, and then you will know for certain either way.
That is all you can do.

well me and my mom we have our moments where we dont get along very well
i really dont like her that much, well at all and i dont want to live here anymore

Well, I can't help you with all the things going on in your life, but I can tell you one thing- joke fighting comes to a screeching hault when you slap someone in the face. Weather you meant it to be a joke or not, people take offence to being hit in the face. I know I would, even if it was playful like you said it was. Next time avoid that, ok? Your mom likely took offence to that. Your mom is someone you NEVER slap in the face, joking or not.

And it is a good thing that you love yourself, because you are realistically the only person in this world you know you can rely on. The only person you SHOULD rely on. It gets you nowhere in this world to rely on others.
