MAK answered Tuesday June 19 2007, 6:42 pm: I would like to add to everyone else: take two q-tips, and press the area around the blackhead. If it is ready to come out, it will, but if its not, don't push it, or a scab or even a scar will form. Taking a bath or a shower before you go blackhead-squeezing helps a lot too. EasyPeasy answered Tuesday June 19 2007, 2:53 pm: See a dermatologist, or get a mini facial. They can help you out with what products are actually safe and effective for your skin.
Blackhead nose strips can damage your skin, and strip it of natural oils, creating more oil. Not to mention they can only take out 2-3 blackheads.
Extractors, if used incorrectly (and they most often are!) can do real damage to your skin creating red marks, and scars. Although, these are very effective when used properly.
Too much scrubbing will not fix blackheads either.
See a dermatologist, or get a mini facial. She will probably do some extracting (safely). And you can ask about how exactly to use an extractor and which are some good products to use. These products probably won't get rid of your blackheads, but can keep your skin clean and healthy. [ EasyPeasy's advice column | Ask EasyPeasy A Question ]
killerface answered Tuesday June 19 2007, 2:46 pm: Like ygsgirl says, pore strips are fantastic. Try the Biore ones that have like, eight in the box, and cost $6. You use them every three days and they work wonders. :] [ killerface's advice column | Ask killerface A Question ]
