Addicted to Gatorade I'm kind of "addicted" to Gatorade. Everytime we go to the store, I buy it. And, instead of buying cokes to keep around the house like I use to, I now buy Gatorade.. and drink atleast 1 a day. Ok, my question is.. Is Gatorade bad for you? And is drinking this much harmful? Should I cut down on any/all/how much?

It has been my experience that too much of any one thing is not a great idea. I would drink gatorade after workouts. For everyday use drink water and juices, but watch your sugar intake. ]
Well gatorade is a great source of energy and if you use that enegery, then its great!
But , it also has alot of sugar.
So keep your portions lower.

Well it depends. If you do an active activity every day and sweat a lot, then gatorade is fine. But it's not good to drink when your not doing anything active; like watching tv or going on the computer and such. ]
Gatorade is a lot better than pop. Wayyyyy better. Anyhow, It's really good to drink Gatorade to replenish your electrolytes, but water is still better to drink on a regular basis. Maybe you should drink Gatorade when you have had a lot of hard physical activity and sometimes normally, but try to drink a little more WATER during the day. Hope I helped! ]
no its not harmful...a lot better for you than coke. it does have a lot of sugar though. you could buy the powder instead of buying actual gatorades its prob cheaper ]
i would think its good for you since it has water in it but maybe drink one every other day or drink half of it..hope i helped

Gatorade was originally formulated as a drink for athletes to rehydrate during and after exertion.
It has carbohydrates (in the form of sugar) and electrolytes (Sodium and Potassium mostly) to replenish what's lost during intense physical activity.
I have heard some unsubstantiated rumors to the effect that people who drank too much Gatorade without having physically exerted themselves had problems relating to the Potassium levels in their blood interfering with normal metabolism and cardiac function.
But I've looked and looked an can find NO examples of such things happening.
A bottle or two (or three) of Gatorade per day certainly won't hurt you. The body pretty closely regulates it's balance of Sodium and Potassium, so you'd have to drink a ridiculous amount in a very short time to have much affect.
Like any sweetened drink, Gatorade can pose a threat of tooth decay and weight gain.
It's probably slightly better for you than the Coke you say you used to drink because it doesn't have Caffeine.
So, if you enjoy the stuff, go right ahead! ]
Oh my Gosh I love gatorate too! I drank 108 FL.OZ. of it in 2 days!...
Don't worry about your addiction to it it is actually quite healthy for you... It hydrates you and gives you energy from good stuff unlike energy drinks which give you energy from sugar... It is a much better choice than soda...just try to get a few glasses of water everyday.... like the gatorade bottle says Gatorade is a smart choice for athletes because it rehydrates, replenishes, and refuels in ways that water can't....
hope this helps! ]
No, you don't need to cut down at all!
Gatorade is supposed to help your body in the same way water does, except for it does even more by restoring proteins and electrolytes back into your body that you sweat our during exercise.
The only bad thing about Gatorade is that it tends to have a lot of sugar in it, but if you only drink 1 or 2 a day this isn't a problem. If you want to cut down on the sugar though, try Propel. It has all the electrolytes and proteins that Gatorade has, except for it only has 10 calories! My favorite is Strawberry Kiwi! :) ]
actually, that's good for you. just don't drink like eighty bottles of it every day. it has all kinds of nutrients and electrolytes and stuff that keeps you going. the only bad part is that there's a lot of sugar, but who cares? gatorade is really good! ]
According to their website it is perfectly alright to drink it anytime you want to. It is not bad for you at all. Here's the site if you'd like to check it out for yourself. :)

Well Gatorade is better for you than cokes but you shouldn't drink it too much. Gatorade is basically sugar water that has added sodium, electrolytes and other chemicals that are supposed to replace what you loose when you sweat. So if you aren't sweating, you're just adding on to what you have. Many coaches even tell you to water Gatorade down (at my school anyway).
One thing of Gatorade a day shouldn't be a problem but you really shouldn't drink more than that if it isn't watered down. Now that's if you're not active. ]
Gatorade is pretty good for you to rehidrate you and put lost electrolites back in your body if plaing sports. Though it's ok to drink them, one every single day is just as bad as a pop every other day. All that sugar can and will screw up your metabolism (if ur a girl) So I would say, yes! cut down a bit. ]
Gatorade isn't horrible for you at all.
Its full of proteins and electrolytes that keep you hydrated, which is excellent for the summer months. However, Gatorade is also full of sodium, so watch out. Make sure you drink about as much water as you do Gatorade, or even a little less. (= ]
ofcourse it isnt bad for you gatorade is just a bunch of protiens sugar and water mixed together so its actually better for you to drink than soda and stuff like that ]
Well first of all if you drink one bottle a day that's not bad at all. If you drank like 3 gallons a day yeah then i'd say you have something wrong with you. And gatorade is really healthy for you and keeps you hydrated. Also alot of people really like gatorade cause I work at my dad's store and people come in and buy like 3 bottle of gatorade. Just don't drink only gatorade ]
