summerGIRL_xo answered Thursday April 6 2006, 4:44 pm: nuts are great, eating just a little will make you feel full. protein (meat, cheese, dairy, etc.) fills you up, too. carbohydrates are NOT very filling (fruits, breads, etc.) it doesn't mean you can't have them they are just not very filling. proteinnnnnnnnnnn is the answer! =] [ summerGIRL_xo's advice column | Ask summerGIRL_xo A Question ]
MikeCFT answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 6:24 pm: Sorry but just about everyone is wrong lol. The recommendations below call for vegetables and fruits which are carbohydrate sources and water which flushes out of you the quickest. The reason why you feel hungry a little while after eating carrots or bananas is because the digestion of carbs begins in the mouth with the amalayse inside of the saliva and it ends in the stomach. However if you want to feel fuller longer you can eat fat but that's too calorie dense at 9 calories per gram so you can eat protein whose digestion doesn't begin until it reacts with Hydrochloric acid in the stomach and ends in the large intestine and it has the same calorie value as carbs at 4 calories per gram. Find the low fat, lean protein dense foods which you like the best and eat them to stay fuller longer. [ MikeCFT's advice column | Ask MikeCFT A Question ]
SeriousAsAHeartAttack answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 12:01 pm: Im trying to lose weight too, and what is working for me is water. it clears up your face, cleans our your system, keeps you feel, and healthy! IF your looking for a certain food, try a few peices of wheat toast. I heard bread expands and makes you fuller. Also eat really slow because it takes your brain 20 minutes to register that your stomach is full. If your trying to lose weight and get a craving, chew some sugar free gum! Hope this helps! sizzlinmandolin answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 10:36 am: Fat makes you feel full. No joke. Sucks doesn't it? That's why most diets tend not to work. People stop eating fats, but since they don't feel full, they eat more food, which defeats the purpose of the diet. The Atkins diet draws from this. If you eat all fatty foods and no carbs, you'll eat much less and lose a lot of weight quite quickly. This diet, however, isn't exactly good for you. What you need to do in order to lose weight is eat healthily and exercise. Exercise is just as important as eating right. That's where you will lose most of your weight. Exercise is what burns calories. Eating healthy doesn't always mean dieting. It means watching how much you eat and eating a wide variety of foods, most of which are good for you. Try to regulate how much you eat by including some fats in your diet. Good sources of healthy fats are avocado, nuts, olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, salmon, tuna, trout, dark leafy vegetables, walnuts, and flaxseed. So, when you have a salad use romaine lettuce instead of iceburg. Include fish and nuts in your diet. Cook with olive oil. Those types of things. You can also have some unhealthy fats every once in awhile too. That will help. :)
x3candiigrl answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 7:48 am: drink LOTS of water and it'll help you fill up more. Also try eating energy bars... they're small and keep you filled for a long time. Some good ones are the Slim Fast bars.
LaidBack answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 4:18 am: I used to carry around a 2 gallon milk jug thing and fill it with water and drink 2 of those a day i ended up losing about 30 lbs. Another thing is eat tostitos and salsa. If you can handle the really hot stuff get that because the acid in the salsa eats away at other food in your stomach and salsa increases ur metabolism! Teza answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 12:33 am: 2 bannana's always fill me up but an hour later, you feel hungry again. Anyways, any food will fill you up if you eat a good perportion and if you eat it slowly. Also, if you put it on a smaller plate, it makes it look like there is more food and it won't make you want seconds. Another thing is that if you watch television while you're eating, you won't even realize how much you're eating because you're not paying attention to it so when you eat, make sure you're not distracted. Eat vegtables and fruits. Exercise and you will lose weight. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
GerardsMine29 answered Wednesday April 5 2006, 12:27 am: Ok, well, you cant go wrong with carrots! Also, almost any food will fill you up, you just have to eat it more slowly, so you will get more out of it. Trust me on that one! [ GerardsMine29's advice column | Ask GerardsMine29 A Question ]
