A noun. Have you ever heard someone say "Let's sex!"? No. The verb in that sentence is a helping verb. Sex is a noun.

RockStoleMySoul answered Wednesday November 9 2005, 6:11 pm:
It is considered both because sex is male or female. It can be considered a noun because it is a thing that occurs. It's considered verb because it's an action as well.
