historygrl4no1 answered Saturday September 17 2005, 6:21 pm: I would try to do what I'm doing, eat as much as you want. The only difference is I gave up soda and gave up snacks. I only eat Breakfest Lunch and Dinner, sometimes I don't eat Breakfest and Lunch, but other times I do. I've lost 10 pounds in about 2 weeks already. Hope this helped.
shrink2be answered Saturday September 17 2005, 10:24 am: your more than just fat. you are a person you have feelings and you should not hate yourself because of it.
definitly dont die. thats the only decision you cant redo or anybody cant undo for you.
start walking around the park or neighborhood nice and slow just even to get your heart going. then after you get used to that, walk around a little faster, or start doing sit ups.
anything that gets you moving. but do try eating healthy.lots of veggies, less of bread. for one week, i only ate 20 carbs a day, and in that one week, i lost 15 pounds. and i have a friend that tried it for two months and he lost 60 pounds. [ shrink2be's advice column | Ask shrink2be A Question ]
hElp_For_YoOh answered Friday September 16 2005, 6:21 pm: Dont hate yourself for it. i know alot of people who are obese.. and it doesnt matter what you look like.. it matters on how you act.. Just try and lower down on the junk food.. and when ur eating at the dinner table only get a little bit of everything then maybe take it away from the rest of the food in the bowls so you wont be tempted to eat more and more it's going to take time. but dont give up!!
angelmcclain answered Friday September 16 2005, 12:38 pm: well maybe you need to think more of yourself than just being obese. you know when you have a negative outlook on yourself, others will feed off on it. try doing things that make you feel good, or take up a hobbie that could be bennificial to your situation, such as walking, youll feel better and look better. i wish you luck . GANGStAhBAbiiEx answered Thursday September 15 2005, 4:12 pm: well first of all I have to say if you hate yourself you're not going to want to do anything maybe you can stop eating as much as you are now but DONT starve yourself you can also walk a lil each day and walk more and more each other day
Michellex3xOo answered Thursday September 15 2005, 3:25 pm: ok dont hate yourself! to start losing weight u have to be postive. the way that works is less salt, less butter, and drink water all the time instead of soda, instead of junk food and chocolate eat fruit or vegetables. DONT STARVE YOURSElF!!! please dont!! eat breakfast like cereal Kashi Go lean Crunch is good or oatmeal, or cream of wheat, dont add extra ugar to food! start trying to eat foods without sugar, salt, butter, they are all super high in fat! and they are horrible for you! this rlly works because my mom did it she lost soo much weight! she lost like 40 ibs in a month!
another way...
go on the carbs diet this works! a friend of mine had a overweight family member and she lost all her wight in a month and she is very slim now! she used to be very huge! she lost it all! and u have to believe in yourself and believe you can do this!
SweetxxIntoxication answered Thursday September 15 2005, 3:17 pm: i am going through the same exact problem here.
im not going to tell you to diet, but i am going to tell you to choose what you eat wisely, and only have one helping at each meal.Sure, it sounds like a diet, but its the smart and "healthy" way, and also, when your thinking of something that upsets you, dont eat to try and feel better. now, im not saying to cut or do any harm to yourself, or harm anyone else,..BAD IDEA! you will regret it later in your life if you do. just try to exercise when something is really bothering you, its a great way to release stress, and its as simple as just going for a walk in your area. i have noticed that even just walking a short amount every day makes a difference in your weight, and the way you feel. and don't hate yourself for it, it isnt your fault even if you may think it is, its something that just happens, and you can change it. you just have to step up and do it. orphans answered Thursday September 15 2005, 2:22 pm: well first of all I have to say if you hate yourself you're not going to want to do anything except die!!
Now here's the thing... I know you said not to say diet and that is true! It would be very unhealthy to change your eating habits straight away! all I have to say is when you eat things associate them with horrible things if they are fattening and you know it for example chocolate? well the machines used to make them often get spiders in them :) so yeah that may put you off!!
I would also eat plenty of fruit and veg cause it boosts your metabolism causing your food to be digested quicker ;)
also you should build up a routine of exercise... walk for five minutes one day or go swimming for a while and then double that each day...
AlienHumanologist answered Thursday September 15 2005, 1:09 pm: I suggest moving to a planet or satellite with a lower local gravitational field strength. Although space travel is relatively undeveloped on Earth, historical records indicate that trips to the Earth's natural satellite have occured within living memory. If you relocated there, you would lose approximately 84% of your weight. [ AlienHumanologist's advice column | Ask AlienHumanologist A Question ]
truadvice answered Thursday September 15 2005, 10:58 am: running everyday , like for a week do an 8th of a mile and build your self up , lift weights , dont use the southbeach or atkin diets because there bad for you . cutting out things like carbs and bread is no good for you . for your system to work you have to have variety or when you go back to regular eating your body 's metabolism wont work as fast . get your thyroid checked . the best diet is to under stand what a portion is and learn to count calories . for you to lose weight you could eat about 1,100 calories a day and less will make you VERY sick and you WILL end up in a hospital . stop soda ! stoping soda will make you feel better and water is much better . learn your body fat percent not your weight . if you are male 14-20 % if your a girl 20-25% . every 2 weeks fast for a day to give the metabolism a rest, it works ! if you have a craving for something sweet dont go low fat or no sugar added because no sugar added means they added more fat to make it taste good and vise versa . have pudding , eat 1/2 a piece of cake instead of a whole one and add strawberrys or blueberrys on the side . dont deprive your self because its OK to save sweets sparingly .remeber the diet doesnt really end because if you go back to your old habits you'll just gain the weight back . You may want to see a therypist because many people who are over weight are stressed or have something bothering them that to get rid of the feeling and to make them selves feel better they eat . Hope I helped . [ truadvice's advice column | Ask truadvice A Question ]
AnneNonimous answered Thursday September 15 2005, 3:53 am: Hi there. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling depressed about the way you look. I think most people have been there at one point of another. I have a couple of suggestions:
First of all, I think you should talk to your family doctor. 70 pounds overweight would probably be considered medically obese. Which means you could be at a point where your health is in significant and immediate danger. You need to be monitored by a medical professional to be sure the measures you are taking to lose weight are not going to put your body in limbo for the sake of losing weight.
Also, don't try to do EVERYTHING overnight. It's going to be a process for you. Denying yourself of every food you enjoy all at once is only going to make you miserable and ulitimately, binge. Start with small steps such as:
-try to drink more wanter and cut out soda
-Try following portions recommended on the packaging... (the two cookies that are considered a serving as opposed to the whole box)
-Try to eat more small meals per day instead of a couple of large ones
-make an effort to do ANYTHING active for a half an hour a day. Maybe it's just dancing to music in your room. Maybe it's walking your dog around the neighborhood. It's SOMETHING.
You might also consider joining some sort of organization for support, or even speak to a private counselor. They say that the reason places like weight watches and jenny craig are so successful for long-term weight loss is the fact that they have meetings with other people in your same situation. You can see that you're not a lesser person and find others to be there for you when things get hard.
You need to find someone you can confide in because suicide is obviously a serious, serious matter. You're not alone in this... many people are struggling to lose weight. Help is out there and there are people who understand.
lulabelle answered Thursday September 15 2005, 1:51 am: First of all you might work on your mental attitude. The reason I say this is if you keep telling yourself that you hate yourself, your subconcious will believe it and act upon it. When you set a goal your subconcious will do things to sabotage you because of this belief. Start practicing "I Love Myself" afirmations. Hug yourself every morning and let your body know that you think it is beautiful. Picture it how you want it to look and start believing that you are there. Don't let anyone else's comments bother you (I know this is hard). Simply know in the bottom of your soul that you are a beautiful person and keep that vision of the new you always in mind. Mental attitude plays a big roll in how we view ourselves and how we view ourselves is what we become.
Now for diet. It's just a few things you need to do. I know you want to be able to still function among friends and family w/o standing out too much. Here's some suggestions. Start adding more raw fruits and vegitables to your diet. Do it slowly so that it isn't some drastic change. You see eating cooked vegitables is like eating dead food. Cooking kills vitamins and enzymes (fountain of life). What your body is doing is craving the nutrients that you are not getting so you keep eating and eating but your body is never satisfied. I'm not telling you to give up cooked vegitables, just add more raw ones to your diet.
As for sweets. You can fix fruits in a number of ways that can be tasty. What I like to do is make smoothies. I freeze bananas, mangos, pinapples, stawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc. and then put them in a blender, add a little water and blend away. It's really good and filling. Also, stay away from processed sugar. Sugar depetes your body of nutrients, especially vitamin c. There is a great natural sweetner called Agave which is the juice of a cactus. It has a slight caramel taste to it and it is 30 times sweeter than sugar is. The great thing about it is if you know anyone who has diabetes this is a natural sweetner that they can have.
Something most people don't know about. Virgin Coconut butter helps to speed your metabalism up and helps your body to build more muscle mass instead of fatty tissue. In 1948 farmers wanted to fatten their cows so they gave them coconut butter. Instead of getting fatter the cows started slimming down and became more energetic. This was not what the farmers had in mind. They then took cows off of coconut butter and started feeding them corn. Corn made them fatter. So, stay away from corn as much as possible. Also, commercial meat is full of steoids, harmones and antibiotics. Steroids are for the purpose of fattening the cows up so what do you think it is doing to us? This is one of the main reasons obesity is an epidemic today. You can't loose weight easily because the foods contain substances that promote bulking up. Chicken now has it in them as well. What I suggest you do is find a local store that sells organically raised meat. These animals have been raised humanly and they don't have the additives in them. You will find that you like the taste of it better as well. If the stores in your area don't carry it, ask them if they will order it for you. Sometimes stores will do this.
Start walking a few times a week. You don't have to make it a big huge workout deal. Just start off slow by walking around the block and then add on to it from there. However you feel. Let your inner guide show you.
advice~gurl answered Wednesday September 14 2005, 11:54 pm: First thing. Learn how to spell.
Second of all, you know what? Most my friends are heavy, Only a select few are thin.
Right now in this day and age there are more over weight people then thin. Its because of the food we have advantage of and we show no self control.
You aren't alone, and i'm not saying this is your fault what I mean is you need to watch what you eat. Don't binge because you're depressed and then feel even lower after eating all the food. Instead go for a walk and take some sort of healthy snack. Learn to curb your food cravings by doing something else then just thinking about your stomach.
My friend at tap is heavy and she was even heavier last year. She has been going to Curves for women and let me tell you she has lost alot of weight. She doesn't think so but she has.
So thats my suggestion to you, go to some fitness place local, get a schedule going so that it becomes a part of your daily life. Losing weight takes a while. When anne started working out 3 times a week she actually gained a couple pounds but after a while she actually started losing weight. It wasn't fast but it was steady. She still keeps it up and she looks good.
XXXtaco answered Wednesday September 14 2005, 11:35 pm: if you hate yourself as much as you say you do, then you would do something about it. not so much of a diet as limiting what does go into your mouth. Dont eat differently, eat less. do a few situps each day and you'll lose the pounds eventually. Just be more active and eat less. [ XXXtaco's advice column | Ask XXXtaco A Question ]

DangerWench answered Wednesday September 14 2005, 11:05 pm: Don't diet. Dieting can make it worse. But do drink lots of water, dehydration can make your metabolism sluggish and fat just sticks around.
Find some activity that you like to do, and do it regularly. Like swimming (some places have indoor pools so you can swim year-round) or tennis, or a team sport, or bicycling, or even weight lifting / body building.
Activity will burn fat and build muscle. Building muscle will pretty much take care of everything, in time. Muscle burns fat, raises your metabolism, and just makes you feel better, period. [ DangerWench's advice column | Ask DangerWench A Question ]
sunnyville answered Wednesday September 14 2005, 10:57 pm: Yeah I know someone who lost weight by running like 40 minutes daily and eating a lot of fruit and vegetables and small meals as well. But then she decided she wanted to go to the gym and so she did it took like a few months when she got skinny. But I know it will be hard fro you but you can do it as well.Get rid of junk food you may have, drinking fat free milk,a lot of nutrition, workout such as situps, crunches, try to avoid eating sugar and salt.Another option rather than the gym you could also go to a special program such as la weight loss which I'm sure you seen on commercials. So start taking some action don't waste time!
