HUGE zit

Question Posted Wednesday September 14 2005, 10:18 pm

I`m 13 and I get alot of zits. I have this HUGE (and I mean HUGE ) like almost the size of a nickel sized zit. It is in between my eyebrows and it has no head on it. ( It looks like a large red bump ) It really hurts if you push on it and it is all red. I don't know what to do. Is there anything I can get to clear it up quicker?

Put toothpaste on it. No lie, it works.

yes for one thing quit squeezing it, that makes it more red and can double it in size. it might not also be a pimple it could be an in-grown hair. but if it is a zit and has no head i know there are kinds called cystic pimples. they are small cysts and can be very painful, ive had them before, and unfortunatlythe only thing you can do is just leave it alone, now if it is a reg zit, toothpaste on it overnight can work great.good luck, and remeber you notice it more than anyone else will.

Hello,

It sounds like your face wash isn't exactly doing the trick, eh? Don't fret now, mine wasn't either. You just have acne. [yes, it's JUST acne.. it sounds okay, but it's awful to have.] I went to my doctor and she perscribed a face wash. Okay, so I didn't go just because my face was breaking out, but whatever. She also perscribed a medicine called Retin A.

Some doctors will give you an antibiotic for your acne because it kills the bacteria BEFORE it makes a pimple. Of course, many girls and women who are on an antibiotic for extensive periods are likely to develop a yeast infection. Though, if you only have acne during "that time of month," your doctor might give you an antibiotic. If you're like me and have acne every part of the month, not just those seven days or so, an antibiotic is not for you.

To help keep pimples from forming :

Wash your face very well two or three times daily. Perhaps good times for you would be when you wake up in the morning (you know, brush your teeth, wash your face, get dressed...), when you get home from school, then right before you go to bed. If you'd like to help prevent pimples even more, take some acne face pads in your purse with you to school, and while you're in the restroom or whatever, you can wipe your face off with one of those.

Try using an astringent. Washing your face then using an astringent will really help get all the dirt and bacteria off of your face. If you use an astringent or a harsher face wash, you'll probably want and need a moisturizer. Clean and Clear makes a good moisturizer.

Raid Wal*Mart or CVS or Walgreens for a simple, over-the-counter acne medicine. Wal*Mart sells one that is simply called "Acne Gel" and if you put it on the pimples you have and on the places you're most likely to develop a pimple (where your face is most oily), the medicine will help dry the oil / pimple out.

For the pimples you already have [best done at night] :

Wash your face really well with a medicated face scrub if you have it. If you don't, just use a basic bar soap like Dove. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. If you have an astringent, put some of a cotton ball and wipe it over your face. If you have a simple acne medicine, put it on the pimples and allow it to dry. Then use a gentle, non-oily moisturizer. Now, break out your tube of toothpaste and put a dab on each pimple. Go to bed. ... When you wake up, wash your face using the same medicated face scrub or bar soap. Pat your face dry. Use an astringent, acne medicine and moisturizer. The pimple should be smaller and less red. With a little concealer, no one will ever know you have a pimple. :)

If you wear make-up, be sure that it is a non-oil based make-up. If it is oil based, it can clog pores, causing pimples. Some foundations are oil based and clog your pores. I'd stay away from that if I were you. A gentle concealer from NYC or Cover Girl, something non-oil based, natural with your skin tone, will help cover the pimples. Several companies sell a green concealer powder, and the green will help hide the redness of the pimple because red and green are opposites on the color wheel. Also, NYC and Cover Girl (and I'm sure others) sell concealer that helps absorb oil, and if you have oily skin, that would probably help too. :)

Good luck.

Well. That's quite unusual. Not to hurt your feelings but I'm actually getting a very large laugh out of this just trying to picture this.

Hahah.

first of all DONT TOUCH IT lol. touching your face is really what causes pimples in the first place. also alot of sugar, but that shouldn't be a problem if you wash ur face and don't put your hand on it. something that you could use is proactive. it really does help. if you dont have time to buy proactive you can always just wash it. dont scrub but cleansing is always good. and drink lots of water. it should be gone in about a week. hope i helped ♥ Juliette
