Well, this really depends on the two people, and the status of their maturity level, ya know? In my experience, 14 to 17 was a perfectly fine age difference. =]

It's something I'd be very careful about. If you are 30, three years is nothing. At 14 however, it's a rather large proportion of your life and the difference in maturity between 17 and 14 is significant.
Of course some 14 year olds are more mature than others, and in fact many girls at 14 are of similar maturity levels of 16 or 17 year olds guys. Nevertheless, I would be very, very careful on this one. Those three years might not seem like a lot, and in many respects they aren't, but at this stage in your life, they do mean that he will be at a different stage in his life, and will probably have different experiences and expectations of dating from you. If he's dated lots of significantly younger girls (and at your age, that's anything more than a year or two years younger than him) then I'd also wonder about his own maturity. If he's consistantly going for people much younger than him, it suggests that he's not capable or interested in having relationships with people his own age, and you have to wonder why that is - probably that he's just slightly immature for his age, but possibly that he likes dominating younger more vulnerable girls, and that's somethign you should be wary of.
I'm not saying it can't work, just that I'd exercise caution and take things slowly to make sure you don't get sucked in to anything too serious before you are ready, because a 17 year old used to dating people older and more experienced than you, emotionally as well as physically, may have a tendency to rush things beyond what you are comfortable with.
Above all, be careful and be prepared to adjust your opinion of him after getting to know him better. He may well be a really great guy, but don't be blinded by the glamour of somebody older and more mature and not see his faults. All the best.

Yes its ok. But just watch out. He could be using you just to have sex. But don't have sex with him ! Because he may be the type of guy just to have sex than dump you. So be careful ! xoOx hope I helped <3

I would question his intentions, guys are often made fun for being 'desperate' because they are going out with a younger girl. It's just common to see older guys to date young girls for just sex.
Other than that, there's nothing wrong with the age difference. The age difference won't sound so bad as you get older either.

I would have to say no..it is so common for girls to date older guys than it is for guys to date older girls..because guys always got SEX on their mind 24/7 and they always go for the easiest fastest way for a peice of ass..which is probably why it is so common for them to be flocking towards younger girls because they think its "cool" to be with an older guy whose experienced and they usually get used and their hearts broken..

True love has no age limit. I say if you really like him then go for it, theres nothing wrong with it, age is just a number. Legally it may not be a good idea but if you guys really like eachother then i don't see a problem in it, just don't rush into things that 17 year old girls would do with him, remember you are 14, so don't rush into it =)..Good luck with everything and i hope you guys have a awesome relashionship! <3

i would say not.. but be careful.. almost every guy around that age just want sex. and if you do and someone finds out you two are basically screwed because once he's 18 he can be charged for rape because you arent legall. Hope i helped

I am dating a guy that is 17 right now and i am also 14. i am noticing that all he wants is to touch me and kiss me and stuff like that. but i am not about to have sex with him!! this will be a true test if he is in it for sex or a relationship!! just be really careful(i know i sound like a mom) but I hoped i helped!

there is seriously nothing wrong with it. you just got to be careful because most guys at that age want sex and nothing else.. it is because of there hermones and tempation. just be careful and dont do anything you dont want to do or anythign your not ready for you. if he doesnt respect that then hun he really isnt worth it. hope this helps you out.

yeah i guess but you should realize that you two date for a year, and the guy becomes 18, it could be illegal. like it'll be a 15 year old girl dating an 18 year old, and i doubt you'll be prosecuted for that or anything but i'm just kind of warning you. i'm sure nothing will happen tho. just watch out because sometimes older guys tend to use younger girls. but if you two love each other, then yeah it's fine. it's only a 3 year difference tho, so whatever =D. hope this helps!!
