OK there's a real problem in our school and it's sorta weird. If you get called a whore, people in my school take it as a compliment. Does anyone think this is very disturbing? Oh yea, and the people in our school who are popular are the sluts and the girls and guys who drink in school. I sorta wanna know how to stop this. Thanks!

that sucks..i dont know of any people who would take that as a compliment. thats definitely not something to be proud of. i think someone should let those girls know that, so thats where you could come in. or just let them be gross and get std's and deal with it because they brought it upon themselves. all you can really do is stay away from it. :/ good luck ♥

you can't stop it but next time they take it as a compliment say something like. "that's really something to be proud of" and walk away. it is very disturbing but there isn't really too much to be done

How to stop this? I really don't think you have any way to do that. Sure, it's awfully degrading to bask in the fact that people are calling you a whore- someone who gets money for sex. But hey, it's one messed up world we live in. All you can do is frown down upon it, and state your beliefs and move on.

I'm REALLY sorry to say this but there is no way to stop this by yourself. Maybe if you had help of a school board member, prinicpal, etc. it could work.
People take the terms "whore" and "slut" as a compliment because they know they are one and they are PROUD to be it, even though it's never a GOOD thing to be one. They WANT to be one and if people say they are, it doesn't mean any harm to them because they WANT to be known as a whore.

There's not much you can do, unless the school will do anything about it. If your not in the "popular crowd" in school, its like, you don't even exist to them. Trust me, I know. So unless the school will help, I don't think there's much you can do.

That is in everyones school. The only thing you can do is walk. Stray out and be yourself. Be the alternative to a slut/whore/popular kids who drink. If it is that you are the unpopular and everyone fallows you in being an non slut/whore/drinker then guess what you are now popular. It only takes one to say no.

Holy crap. Dissing people is gonna be kind of hard. I like how you're so against it, though, rather than drinking to become popular. Anyway, yes, it's disturbing that people like being called whores. That's just scary. As for the popular kids, I don't think I'll ever understand anyone who's popular in any school, including mine. I mean, they try to do stuff that they know they can't do for another three to five years just to show how mature they are: "Oh, look at this! I know how to drive an SUV! *crash* Sorry, Mr. Johnson!" or "Whooo... I love drinkin'... of course, I've been old enough to drink for years..." Try talking with your teachers about it. Unfortunately in school these days, the "popular" croud will always be the people that drink. At first they get popular because of whatever it is (sports, dating the right person, beauty, whatever) and then they get sucked right into the Future Alcoholics Anonymous of America kind of shit. You're either in or youre not. I don't see why being called a whore comes as a compliment. At my school, if you call someone a whore - you get punched in your mouth. Next time you hear someone taking "You're a whore" as a compliment, look at them like they have 1O heads and say "You're proud of that?" I garuntee they'll second guess their pride next time.

All that is is the tables turning for the girls who use to be called "fast" 10 years ago. Now they have taken some power back and made it cool to be called a slut or whore.

Well, there isn't much you can but follow the beat of your own drum. Kids set the tone of the morality of the school - not teachers etc. They can try - but at the end of the day, it will have to be a group of influential kids who make it "uncool" again to be called a whore.
Just chill and stand your ground. Look at them like they are bananas when they say something like that. I mean honestly, I don't care what they say - there has never been anything good about being a whore. They know it. You know it. And I know it.

Ask to talk to your school counsler, and principal, tell them whats going on. Talk with your parents, friends and their parents and see if there's anytihng they can do. Make a club for no sluts, and try to stand up too them..It's a hard situation to be in, that's how my school was, finally we got out princapal to change it.. Hope I helped, <3 Jack
