Hello. I don't really know how this works, but I am taking a crack at it. Lately, I have been reading many sites that teenage girls like me have been making about anorexia. Most often then not they are praising it, but I have found few who tell me to look away. I am about to be 15 years old in a month. Soon, I am going back to school. I weigh 204lbs. Everyone tells me I don't look overweight, but its not just the way I look. I feel heavy. I feel sick and digusted, but I when I read these websites I get inspired to lose weight. Though, never to such an extreme as to starving myself. Are there any diets or tips out there that can help me? I'm feeling really inadequate.
babyxo answered Saturday August 6 2005, 6:33 pm: thats good that you wouldnt think about starving yourself. its really unhealthy. its also unhealthy to convince yourself that your fat, so dont do that either. first off, i would start by being happy with yourself. you can always improve your image but your attitude has to come first. these are two sites i've used before..i have more if you need them.
SoNotLegal answered Saturday August 6 2005, 2:27 pm: First of all, you can be anorexic even if you're overweight. Anorexia means that you're depriving your body of the nutrition that it needs -- you don't have to be 85 pounds for that.
Go to a gym and get a trainer and a nutritionist to help you. Let them know that you want to safely and effectively lose weight because you want to look better and feel better about yourself. Have the trainer create an exercise regimen just for you, and get tips from the nutritionist on what types of foods you can eat to stay healthy and lose weight.

alisonmarie answered Saturday August 6 2005, 10:53 am: It's important to get the right mindset about your body - how you feel, how you think about your weight, how you deal with food/exercise. Reading webpages that are pro-anorexic will not only stop you from getting into the right mindset, but they could actually start you heading down a very dangerous and potentially deadly road.
There are no easy solutions to losing weight, and your doctor is probably the best person to talk to about nutrition, healthy weight goals, and exercise. Generally, a healthy weight loss is about 1-2 pounds per week - any more than that and you could be putting your health at risk.
It took years to gain the weight, and it'll probably take quite a long time to lose it. But weight that is lost slowly and safely is weight that will stay off - which is just as important as losing it in the first place.
And once you're thinking the right way? Then you need to understand the simple key: eat less, and move more. Find exercise that you enjoy, and just eat less crap. Once you start losing weight, hopefully your increased energy and healthier positive hormone levels (from exercise) will motivate you to continue.
xOcourTneyOx answered Saturday August 6 2005, 9:55 am: ok here's a diet that is a healthy way to lose weight . . .
*eat 6 healthy meals a day! small proportions, preferably 1-2 cups!
*drink lots of water! no soft drinks!
*don't eat a lot of salt bc that makes you retain water wich means water weight!
*if you do get hungary have a little snack like fruit or veggies!
*run,do crunches, swim, or any other excercises everyday!
bsktballchick45 answered Saturday August 6 2005, 9:30 am: You can't lose a lot of weight right away. But you should cut out all pop and junk food. Eat salads and fruits and healthy stuff like that. And drink lots of water. Like 5-8 glasses a day.
Exercise every day. Go running or walking for like 1/2 hour every day or every other day. Or go biking. Starving yourself is not the way to go, it's not healthy.
twistedsister17 answered Saturday August 6 2005, 8:54 am: Losing weight takes time and effort and requires the proper balance of Excercise and Nutrition. For Nutrition, you should eat light, such as fruit, vegetables, crackers, fish, tofu, and deli (white) meats. Stay away from too much dairy or red meat though! And as far as exercise goes, try to find a personal work out plan that suits your body, depending on what muscles you want to tone up. For example: Obviously if you want to tone your abs, do situps every day. Below are some websites on nutrition and exercise.
not-ur-ordinary-gal answered Saturday August 6 2005, 6:15 am: well.. avoid having in-between-meals.. for short snack and when eating meals make sure you are full so your dont have to eat snacks lessen the in-take of carbohydrates and sweets... if not you can have snacks but lessen the food you are taking per eating session.. of course you have to burn some fats.. which means you have to do some exercise.. if not you can just dance around for about 30 mins.. that way youll have fun while losing weight.. or you can simply do anything where in you burn fats.. hope i helped..
deathwillcome answered Saturday August 6 2005, 4:14 am: You should excercise more. I like to find a park that has a trail that goea all the way around it. and try to go there every night. Each night you make it harder. Like Each night I go around one more time than I did the last. then you need to watch what you eat. I didn't say don't eat, I mean "watch" what you eat. Less starch.(noodles, bread, ect.) you get the piont! Some food tips, when you feel like having a snack, have an apple or bannan. Fruit is a lot better for you then candy and sweets. Make sure your meals arn't one thing. So try to get a little bit of each food group. Milk is good too! I think you have the idea. I hope I helped, and remember, my inbox is always open. You don't have to rate if you don't want to, but it would be nice if you did. Thanks!
P.S.
When you exercise, or whatever you do to get healthyer, do it every night. If you don't do it regularly, it won't work. It doesn't necicarily have to be every night but it would work better. Good luck, and tell me how it goes! [ deathwillcome's advice column | Ask deathwillcome A Question ]

***the following is from a website***********
join a track team and train for sprinting and jumping events. You can also start inline skating every weekend, and swimming once a week (any kind of stroke will work).
As far as exercises that will help, karate kicks are a very efficient way to tone your thighs. To do a crescent kick, stand with your left foot slightly in front of the right. Swing your right leg up into a 90-degree angle and angle it slightly to the right. Kick your right leg out and across your body in a semicircle, then return it to the 90-degree angle. Do three sets of 10 kicks for each leg. To do a back kick, start with your legs slightly bent and shoulder-width apart. Raise your left knee to chest level, keeping your upper body straight. Lean forward as you kick straight back, then return to your initial standing position. Do three sets of 10 kicks for each leg.
Also try sprinting, skipping, adduction and abduction (squeezing your thighs together or apart, using props like balls or bands, or exercise machines), and lunge walking.
HawthorneHeightsFreak answered Saturday August 6 2005, 3:29 am: Heres the thing when you loose weight from being anorexic you put on more weight then you ever were and way faster all you need to do is eat less eat healthier and drink like just water no sweets no soda and no juice unless it is fresh squeezed from organic fruit and organic fruit is really good for you.
i hope that helped
