money for school clothes

Question Posted Thursday July 7 2005, 5:09 pm

im 14 years old. My mom isnt working right now so we dont have alot of money. The clothes i wear are american eagle, aeropostale, hollister, and abercrombie mostly. Well for school my mom said i cant get alot of clothes unless i buy them with my own money. i was wondering if anyone knew a way i could make money for some clothes. The place that i live at there arent that many kids, so i cant baby sit around here. Does anyone have any ideas?

You can always shop at goodwill or the salvation army store but if you start like a business or something like if you mowed lawns or had a lemonade stand lol or something like walking peoples pets or pet sitting

Well you could get a job like delivering newspapers or at some stores or restaurants you are old enough to work, like cleaning the tables or washing dishes and stuff.

hope that is what you were looking for!

good luck!

you can get an entire fall wardrobe at kohls/walmart/target/plato's for what it costs for 2 outfits at abercrombie...seriously. but if you MUST pay the extra 200% percent for a label, run a carwash, see old clothes, watch pets, work at a grocery store or find some odd jobs. hope this helps. <3

well, if not in your neighborhood, you could find some kids of the people your parents work with or know. that maybe arent right in your neighborhood, but you could maybe find some other kids to babysit? well besides that, you could.. do a lemonade stand, dog sit, water gardens, and stuff like that. also, aeropostale isnt that expensive, so you should be able to get clothes from there for no problem! i love that store! well good luck!

start some mowing lawns, you could do house work for your neighboors.. there`s lots to do. But the best and fastest way to make some money is to sell stuff! have a garage sale or just sell stuff on ebay, you won`t believe how much money you could get for some old junk you never even knew you had in the first place. So start cleaning your house and look for anything that`s not being used or anything that`s old! i`m sure you`ll be splurging in money in no time!

good luck on your money search!

I don't get it. If your family is having money problems, why are you crying about clothes? I mean, really. There's nothing wrong with buying your clothes at Wal Mart for a little less money. What does it cost at Abercrombie? Like $70 dollars for a shirt that will get stained the first time you wear it and then shrink in the wash? I don't know because I've never gone there, but it sounds to me like a ripoff. My family has money issues too, most do (especially these days, with the end of the world upon us and all). I try not to worry about it, but when I do get really worried, I concentrate more on the fact that my family needs food than the desire I have for a few new outfits and the new Genbu Kaiden novel. I think you can get a part time job at fourteen. I worked at the city library. Try doing that. And remember that there's nothing wrong with wearing shirts you've worn before, buying slightly cheaper clothes, or buying less clothes.

And add to the flyer that you walk pets, babysit them and/or give them a bath. All pets need that but owners hate to do it. Good luck. It is good of you to want to earn money to buy your own clothes. Also you can sometimes find great clothes at consigment shops, espescially if you are skinny

mow lawns, bake sale, work as a camp counselor, work as a bagger in a grocery store, supposedly dairy queen hires at 14, or you could have your own little 'errand service' for your neighbors especially if you have a bike. you could make fliers that say what you are available to do (ex. pick up a few items at the grocery store, drop off stuff at the post office, etc)

good luck!- :)
