OK..I ALWAYS go to bed late. If I try to go to bed early, i still don't go to bed until about
3-4AM. I've tried not to stay on the computer and tried to clear my mind and everything and i still cant sleep. After that i have a tendancy to wake up a tiny bit late (10-11 AM)..And i mean a couple times i may get to bed if I'm lucky around 1AM..i dont know what to do and my mom just thinks that i stay up on purpose so she doesnt wanna help me..what do you thinks wrong?? is there anything to prevent this from happening anymore?? thanks!!!

Maybe give some free advice about: Health? beachhun101 answered Monday July 11 2005, 4:45 pm: its summer. i do the exact same thing, and i had to go to a camp so i had to be put on a schedule before i went. so what i had to do was wake up at 7AM! and not take a nap the whole day and you will get really really tired so your body will be ready to go to bed earlier that night. so i did that for a week and just wake up early and go to bed around 10 every night. i meditate while in bed- (clears your head and bores you so you go to sleep). also if your desperate go to a drugstore and ask for over the counter sleeping aids.hope your sleeping deal works out!

What I do is I try to busy myself cause then I will get tired ( like on vacations I got so tired I fell asleep right away and woke up at 7! ) But anyways, I'll end up getting tired and getting sleepy. Like you can take a quick run around the neighborhood or something before you go to bed. Other things to do are:
-try eating or drinking something. Sometimes people get sleepy after they have milk or their stomaches full.
- watch TV for a bit. That seems to tire me sometimes...or fall asleep listening to the TV but it down on low volume just enough to hear ( this is anotehr problem I have. I hate being in quiet. I need to listen to SOMETHiNG. Thats another reason I couldn't sleep..) but also don't forgot to put it on SLEEP MODE.. so you don't run up your parents bill!! =)
-also sometimes just try laying there and clearing your mind..just think of something and after awhile you'll think about it so much you don't realize you fell asleep! =)
-listen to music while you're trying to sleep. It'll help relax your mind and will make you try and sleep easier. Also, once when I did it, I fell asleep to Jesse McCartney, and I had a dream about him.. hehe it was a good on too haha <3 ANYWAYS...
HyperactiveMiss answered Saturday July 9 2005, 3:57 am: It might not work right away, but it WILL if you pick something keep doing something consistantly every night.
Here are tips to help you:
1. Stay up for a whole 24 hours if you can. If you can't, I'd try to stay awake for as long as you can, taking a quick nap, and waking up. After a day of no sleep, you'll be awfully tired. Wait until the time you'd like to go to sleep (Like 10 PM or something) and then sleep. You'll sleep like a log and you'll be back on track!
2. Maybe you can't sleep earlier because you're on the computer. When I'm on the computer, I can be on for hours and not feel at all sleepy. You should probably limit yourself from the computer.
3. If you're laying in bed and you can't sleep, maybe it's because you have too much on your mind. If that's the case, take a notepad, and write your thoughts down. Clear your head. In the morning you can go back to those ideas later.
4. Listening to classical or boring music might help. Or you can try any music, actually. Whatever works for you.
5. When you're trying to sleep, don't think about anything. Just clear your mind and concentrate on your breathing. Some people think about being on a rollercoaster, concentrating on the twists and turns. You could also try that, however whenever I try that I end up thinking about how fun it was and then I can't fall asleep. Lol.
6. Try reading. Eventually your eyes will get tired and you'll drift off to sleep.
7. Watch TV. You can put it on sleep mode, so it won't be on all night after you've fallen asleep.
8. Eat something and/or milk. You could also try a warm drink, like tea or hot cocoa. After having a full stomach, you might feel sleepy.
9. Take a walk. After a long walk, you'll feel tired and ready for bed.

I only take one before I go to sleep and it usually works unless I'm really stressed. *Talk to your doctor though before you take it*. You can probably buy it at your local food store where all the vitamins are.

You will have only had 4 hours of sleep so you'll be extremely tired. Stay active during the day. You should find that atleast by 10 you'll be more tired than usual. Get to bed and then get up the next morning once again at 7 and repeat the previous days schedule.

I'm sure by the end of the day you will be tired because you won't be use to it and will go to bed early. Try this a few nights. If that doesn't work try to tell your mom that it isn't you and ask to go to a doctor.

The best thing would be to talk to your doctor or take out a book about Insomnia. My sugguestion is that you should get off the computer around 12. Then read a book, watch tv, brush your teeth, etc. Pick ONE time and stick to it. Make up a bedtime ritual to let your body know that its time to go to sleep. (read, take a bath, brush your teeth) I know its hard to get off the computer so early, but just do it! Because you have control about when you get off. Go to bed around 1 and try not to sleep past 12 AM because the later you sleep in, the harder it is for your body to fall asleep at night. Also heres a tip on how to fall asleep: lay there and pretend you are "sinking" into the bed, relax each of your muscles, as you relax them say them in your head- "arm, hand, foot, etc." Good luck! Other then that you may have a sleeping problem, where everything stays on your mind and you cant sleep because of it. If you try and go to sleep and you have lots of things on your mind and you cant sleep because of it you may want to check it out with a doctor, they will give you pills to help you sleep if you do have a sleeping disorder.
