ohk well im 13 and colombian (spic) woot woot yeah i know lol. anyways my mom and my dad asked me what i want to have a sweet 15 or a sweet 16.. its kinda early but they wanna start saving up since they wanna have my party at the hilton ... but the thing is that most if my friends that im going to invite are white or black and like 6 are spanish ... and i think that they will enjoy a sweet 16 better , but i mean its a tradition for a spanish girl to have a sweet 15 ? im confused help me out

Being hispanic is a pride....(it is for me). On June 19 it is going to be a year that i had my sweet 15. It is something that is a tradition in the hispanic culture. Dont think about your friends as much. A sweet 15 and sweet 16 is the same thing except one is spanish and the other is english. Your friends will enjoy a sweet 15 as much as a sweet 16. It is the same thing. There is going to be music, food, dancing etc.....in both. It is up to you. I personally think that its better that you have a sweet 15. Its something that you and your family can look at together. Its a great memory. Ask your parents what they think and what they would like.....take it into consideration, they are the ones payin for it. Hope i have helped.

because i have lots of variety ethnic friends. and lots of my Hispanic friends just do like sweet 16. because then they get more joy out of getting car
and you know! if you play your roll right, they might get you a car for your sweet 16 =)
so do whatever you want to. even if you have to throw a coin. and if you really cant decide... personally i think you should go for sweet 16.

i no what your talking about girl..!!!im a latina to.. im cuban...well you shouild do your hispanic tradition..i wanted to do both..but you no..and my parents said it cost like 20 tousand dollars..so my opion you go and show off wjat you are..and you ca do your spanish tradition..im sure your parents will be happy with the spaish tradton..well about the invited people..you shouild bring whoever uyou wnat to bring its your party.. no matter if there white balck purple pink, girl its you party..bring who you want to bring!!!hope i helped...

Well.. both sound fun too me.. a quinceanera is more your nationality.. but sweet 16 is fun too. You could always have it like right in between your bdays! like afer your 15th and before you 16th.. if you dont wanna do that.. i guess its up to you.. but it would be nice to show the other nationalities your culture.. and theyd probly enjoy it. ok so say you would spend $500 on one party so try spending $250 on each and have 2 parties. i dont know why the different races would have anything to do with it, but for me a party is a party no matter what its for. im sure the guests will enjoy either one so pick whatever you wanna do. <3

Could you have a party in between your 15th and 16th birthday? That way you are keeping in tradition with both sweet 15 and 16 by celebrating them both at the same time?!! It's only an idea! x

I think you should do whatever you feel is best for you. Not for your friends. If you want to have a sweet 15 then have that, if you want to have a sweet 16 than thats ok too.

It's not a sweet 15 per se, it's a quincanera (spelling), which, to my knowledge, is more special than a sweet 15 or 16. I recently had my Bat-Mitzvah, and that was instead of a big Sweet 15 or Sweet 16. If you have a quincanera, you usually get to spend more $$!!

Personally I would go with the "Sweet 15" because its tradition. I doubt your friends would have less of a good time, just because its a "Sweet 15" instead of a "Sweet 16". And its not like its such an unknown tradition, where it'll be a "wierd party". TONS of people know what a "Sweet 15" is and they know its part of your background, so it shouldn't be wierd at all. Even if it is a spanish tradition your friends can still go and have a good time.
Its like with me for example, well i'm jewish and my friends who have had bat and bar mitzfas that i know that are jewish have invited non-jewish friends and they had a blast.
A sweet 16 is like a regular party, but a sweet 15 is a very common spanish tradition that is speacial for spanish girls. I would go with the sweet 15 because you could always have a smaller party for your sweet 16. But, it's your choice, and no one can make that choice for you. Good Luck. Hope i helped!

Do whatever YOU want. Don't worry about what your friends think, as long as their at a party, im sure theyll have a great time. Most of your friends will probably have a sweet 16 so you could be a little different and have a sweet 15. Its keeping the tradition which im sure your family will be happy about too.
