Miss Lily answered Monday April 18 2005, 1:45 am: No, it is not safe. You are putting yourself at a higher risk of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). You should wait to insert a tampon when you are on your period, and always use the lowest absorbency possible. [ Miss Lily's advice column | Ask Miss Lily A Question ]

Karen answered Sunday April 17 2005, 10:59 am: Yes, it is safe inserting a tampon in when you don't have your period. Just take it out after you do it because there is a type of syndrome that you can get which is Toxic Shock Syndrome if you do this all the time for a long time but there is a small chance of you getting that. If you only do this once for practice, then you're fine. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
