It depends on how much you work out. Girls who train really hard and who have a low amount of fat on their body are more likely to not get their period. I think your weight is key to when you get it and if you are to low under normal weight then you probably won't get it. Hope I helped!

Hmm well if you have an estrogen disorder naturally or from muscle-builders or stimulants, than yeah.
But you know what? Don't let that stop you. Don't turn into a lazy fat ass. Stay strong. Be a strong female. And you know what? Who cares if you don't get it? It's nothing but pain and blood and mess. Until you need it, who cares? Be strong. Work out. Build yourself up so that you could kick a man's ass, if you want to. Unless you'd rather be some jiggly, helpless, bleeding mound of flesh.

xOchErrytWistOx answered Saturday April 9 2005, 1:33 pm:
Yes. If you are athletic, especially if you are a gymnast, you may not get your first period until you are 17. After that, your periods will probably be random and hardly ever occur. Don't worry, you will get your period eventually. Don't go wishing for it because it sucks.

The thinner and more athletic you are, the later and less often you'll get your period.

If you're really athletic, you are probably going to start later. You may also skip them altogether some months when you do start.

You are more likely to get through your period faster, because the movement of your body helps shed the lining.

well ususally like the tennis players and the track runners ect, they somtimes lose their period because the excersize so much so yea you could lose it if your really athletic and excersize like crazy doing a sport or something.

JazzY answered Friday April 8 2005, 10:38 pm:
Hey, in a book I read it said that athletic girls won't get their period as soon as girls are aren't totally athletic. It'll be just the same as an unathletic girl getting her period, it'll just take a little longer. But who knows? You may get it earlier than you think!

xXxpinky615xXx answered Friday April 8 2005, 10:26 pm:
No. If you get your period already and you're athletic, you won't get it as often or as bad. The first 3-4 years of your period it will not be on an exact schedule, you can pretty much get it at any time. But just because you're athletic doesn't mean you're less likely to get your period. You're going to get it no matter what but it just won't be as often or as bad as less athletic women.

okay.... being athletic really has no effect when it comes to your period... periods are just things that girls have to go through and there is no way around it unfortunately.... but staying fit i think does help your body alot... but not when it comes to periods. If you need any other information at all just im me at XxBLOsurferNDExX. I dont mind at all. Hope i was of some help!

hey! being athletic doesnt really have to do w/ if you get your period or not...its pretty much neither. you will probably have a much healthier lifestyle when u are on your period b/c you wont get as much (if any) cramps and whatnot. but i really dont think it'll make it come later or sooner. i hope i helped!

love always,
*rachel*

grly_tough_chik answered Friday April 8 2005, 9:28 pm:
Actually it's neither. If you're athletic and exercize appropiatly, you won't get your period sooner or later. But, if you are losing a lot of weight or gaining a lot of wait, your period might change. I hope this helps!

Karen answered Friday April 8 2005, 9:18 pm:
That myth is not true. Being athletic can cause your period to be irregular sometimes but it doesn't stop you from getting your period. I am athletic too and I got my period at the age of 12 so being athletic doesn't affect you from not getting your period.
