thongs are so IN but my mom is not for them
thongs are like really in and i was wondering if anyone who has used one can give my pros and cons of wearing them since at this rate i'll never where one myself

Why "at this rate"? well that is not important. Ok I have like one i think i'm not enen sure if its a thong and you will get used to it eventually but it might go up your butt that stinks espically if you in a public place, but their really not that bad.

well its a matter of personal preferance. your mom might not like them due to her experience. im sure that if you keep asking you will get it because its not that big of a deal except for when they hang over your pants and you get called a slut. theyre not exactly "in" cuz if anyone sees it its a bad thing (even tho a lot of ppl wear them). i agree with the person that suggested boy shorts to keep the peace. <3

Like what others have said, you should wear thongs, just because there in. Yes, I wear them but I started wearing them because I wanted to, not because it was in. Anyway, I'm not going to lecture you on this because I'm not like that.
The pros of wearing thongs are that they won't show your pantyline, they are comfortable, you are able to wear light colored pants, and that's really all the pros of wearing thongs, basically.
There are many cons of wearing thongs. They aren't comfortable for some people and they give you wedgies, you can get infections because of the bacteria that builds up, you will be called a slut if your thong shows, you can't wear pads when you are on your period but that's only if you wear them, and there are many more.
Just remember, you don't always have to wear and do things that are in because it should be your choice of wearing them.

Wearing thongs! there soo cool but sometimes you can get infections because of the thiness of the thong so when you go to the toilet be careful!
Guys like thongs they think there super sexy! dont have all of your thongs showing above your pants! that will look to tarty!
Any age of girls and woman can wear them id recomend starting from 11 and on wards nothing younger! And over 55 thats a no go!
If your on your period then you will have to wear a tampon if you want to wear thongs because a pad wont fit if its only small thong! Pantylinners to keep them fresh all day and you can get ones that are really thin!

First, I'm going to repeat what other people said, you shouldn't wear them just because they are 'in'. You should only wear them if you are comfortable with it, not because everyone else is. Thongs are good mainly because they stop your pantyline from showing and this is the main pro. Some people find them more comfortable than normal underwear but it's a matter of opinion. Unfortunatly, there are also many cons to wearing them. They can give you vaginal infections because of the bacteria the string will be carrying from your ass which isn't too nice. It also takes a while to get used to them, at first it will just feel like you have a permanent wedgie. If people, especially girls, see that you're wearing one then you will probably get labelled as a 'slut'. Another issue with them is that if you use pads then you wont be able to wear a thong on your period. There are some pads designed especially for thongs but they are a very low absorbancy and aren't very good. Also, if you get your period unexpectedly while you're wearing a thong then it will almost definitely run down your leg. It's not very nice but unfortunatly, it happens. Depite the fact that there are a lot less pros than cons to wearing one, many girls choose them over normal underwear. It really is up to you, most people wont be looking at your underwear anyway.

Wearing them because they're in (which they aren't nor were they ever) is kinda stupid. Be an individual, don't do what everyone else is doing. Yeah, I bet most girls wear them, I do if I'm wearing white pants, or tight jeans or dresspants or something like that, but that's just to lose the pantyline, which as most girls probably would agree, boy shorts will do that for ya. I like 'em. Don't wear 'em all the time, but if ya wanna lose a pantyline and don't wanna wear a thong, that'll do it for ya.

That's about all I can think of. I mean I wear thongs, but it seems that there are more cons then pros, the big factor is the whole pantyline thing though.

they are actually really comfortable! i know you might not think so but they really are! try wearing 1 and if you dont like it at first im sure you'll get used to it. if u dont like it at all the no worries, dont wear one!

Okay, to start with here are the advantages... you get absolutely no unflattering panty-line. They are actually really comfortable, I prefer them to regular style underwear now. Also, thongs are usually lower cut than other styles, so they work better with low-rise jeans and other pants. Also, they are just plain cute. There aren't really many disadvantages that I can think of...I wouldn't really wear them with short shorts, or with short little skirts, for obvious reasons, but other than those things you can wear them with just about anything. As for not being able to wear a pad with a thong during your period, well they actually DO make a pantyliner that fits right over your thongs. I think the brand 'Carefree' makes them. There is a slight problem if you have really low-rise pants, and you sit down, and the top of your thong shows, but quite honestly, I don't think it is that big of deal. Just make sure you are wearing low rise thongs when you have on low rise jeans. Tell your mom that you aren't going to let your thong show out of the back of your pants, if that is what she is worried about. Tell her it is just because you are self-concious about having a panty-line show or something like that. Your mom probably is just hesitant, like all moms are, to let her girl grow up, so just don't press the issue, but assure her that owning a thong does not make you a slut, and that it is purely for comfort purposes. I'm a fan of the thong, but not eveyone is. My mom, for example, isn't a fan. I feel your pain. I'll cut straight to the chase and answer your question:
Pros: They're comfortable, they make it so you can wear tight pants and see no underwear line, and they come in all sorts of cute styles and colors.
Cons: They're not very fun to wear if you're on your period, and if you don't buy the size that you need (i.e. if you buy them too small) they tend to rub you the wrong way...

okay... ummm... i started wearing thongs last year... and of course at the beginning it was very awkward... but i will tell you the truth they are the best.... once you get use to them you dont even notice.... i love wearing them... they are comfortable.... i really think that you should try them for yourself and see but i have to say at the beginning i didnt think i would like them either but once i got use to them they were better than regular underwear.... well if you have anymore personal questions you would like to ask me just im me at kellerblondie28. My mom doesn't think I should wear thong undies either (though now I'm 18, I could if I wanted, but I still haven't bought one yet) She has the impression that they're so uncomfortable.
But I do know girls that thongs are all they wear, and they think thongs are more comfy than regular undies.
And I guess I hadn't heard that thongs are "in," and I don't really understand why it matters... since the majority of people you see do NOT see your underwear.
So wearing thongs for the reason that your pantylines would show (like when wearing dress pants or tight fitting pants or some skirts) makes sense. But wearing a thong just because the magazines say you should- that doesn't seem like a good reason to me.
So one pro is no pantyline, and another is that they're cute to buy

I did't mention the comfort factor in my short list of pros/cons, since like I already said, I've heard various opinions on that one. Some girls I know only wear thongs with dress pants to avoid the pantyline, others wear them almost all the time... I guess it really depends.

Thongs arent "in" their just..thongs. Really whoever owns them just because their in are stupid anyway. Thongs are for jeans that wont show the lining of your underwear and for low rise jeans. But, the cons would be: If a person saw your thong while sitting down..you'd be considered a whore. Not even joking. And thats pretty much it...dont worry about it..if you dont own a thong, its not the end of your life =)

Thongs really aren't "in" anymore...boyshorts are. If you want to be trendy and remain at peace with your mother, definitely get some boyshorts instead. They're cute, comfortable, and like most thongs, they get rid of the pantyline problemo.

oh... you will be able to wear them.... i couldnt understand why my mom wouldnt let me when i was 12. i wear them everday.. b/c i am so used to them.
pros- no line, no underwear hanging out the top of ur pants etc
cons- you can get infections if they are to tight, i think they are comfortable but some people dont.* if you really want to wear them.. explain to your mom that you wont become a with one.. i used to refuse to buy white pants til my mom woud let me.. you could even buy some and wash them yourself..

Hey. Thongs arent really in, people just see famous people wearing them so they do. I dont wear thongs i find that they seem to be very uncomfortable. Also, a con is that people can see them and they'll think ur a skank because your thong is showing. Im not saying that someone would be a skank if they had one on, oh you know what i mean lol. And also, once again they like ride up you but and i dont know who would want a string up there butt. Hun, your not missing out on anything. Be different by not wearing a thong lol.
