gakkuhideto answered Monday February 28 2005, 12:41 pm: You're embarassed to tell your mom? That's kind of silly, isn't it? She's been through it before, she is the only one who can help you! She'll tell you how to use the pads, and she'll give you painkiller for the cramps. And if you're hiding it from her...you must be pretty good. I don't know how I would explain blood-stained panties to my parents. [ gakkuhideto's advice column | Ask gakkuhideto A Question ]
pRiiNcEsS_bRyT answered Sunday February 20 2005, 1:12 pm: why dont you want to tell your mom? but if i was you i would just tell her because your mom has been through it also. But if you want to keep it a secret you can ask to go to the store for make-up or something and just buy pads. Pads are probably the best for when you FIRST start. and when you get cramps just tell her you have a stomach ach in your lower stomach. ♥ [ pRiiNcEsS_bRyT's advice column | Ask pRiiNcEsS_bRyT A Question ]
TheTeenGirl answered Saturday February 19 2005, 5:05 pm: I think you should tell your mom, she'll probably be happy. And you'll be more comfortable with buying pads and tampons, theres really no reason to hide it, because she has it too, and when you have cramps, your mom will be more understanding.
sumpterislovex3 answered Saturday February 19 2005, 4:35 pm: I think you honestly should tell your mom - sure, friends are cool to go to for advice, but your mom has been through it all and she knows the situation better. What your mom went through is probably similar to what you'll go through.
But if you're not going to tell your mom, stick to buying pads instead of tampons. Tampons are dangerous if you don't know how to put them in, so pads are really the safer choice, and wiser for beginners. You can get them at any drugstore, and you'll see ads for various brands in teen magazines.
For cramps, just take a painkiller (or two- it depends on what does the trick for you). If your mom doesn't trust you in the medicine cabinet, then you might as well tell her what's up. It'll save you a lot of explaining later on. She's eventually going to find out.
ThugGirl041790 answered Saturday February 19 2005, 3:39 pm: Well i have to respect that you dont wanna tell your mom cause you probably have your reasons..just go to the store and buy pads or tampons and also in side the tampon it tells you how to use em..and when you get cramps jus dont complain bout it and jus take advil or something..much luv dez [ ThugGirl041790's advice column | Ask ThugGirl041790 A Question ]
xoPandaBabyxo answered Friday February 18 2005, 11:57 pm: Why dont you wanna tell your mom? I mean, you CANT tell your dad. its not neutral. Anyway, I think telling your mom is the only way. By the way, if you wanna get the pad and tampon crap, look in the bathroom in the cabinets and stuff, your mom should keep them somewhere. I mean, I've never heard of a mom who keeps them in their kitchen...o.O
PrEtTyKiTtY0428 answered Friday February 18 2005, 10:57 pm: Hey! I know how you feel, but you should really tell your mom. When you want to go to the store, you won't have to lie about what your going to get. If she knew about it, you guys would feel more comfortable around each other, and when you need pads or tampons, you could just tell her. Mom's usually like to know these things. It's embarassing, but you should just tell her. Since you don't wanna tell her though, I would just tell her you want to buy make-up, or something for school and have her take you and wait in the car. That would work. When you have cramps, just tell her you don't feel good. You don't have to tell her that your going to be starting your period or anything. That's your choice. You should be able to get pads or tampons though whenever you need them. You would feel a whole lot better though if you would just tell your mom!!!! I hope I helped ya out! If not, then I'm sorry. Good luck! [ PrEtTyKiTtY0428's advice column | Ask PrEtTyKiTtY0428 A Question ]

SugaHigh answered Friday February 18 2005, 8:28 pm: Try talking to your doctor or nurse. I didnt want t tell my mom either but you have to eventually. If you need to get that stuff you can borrow from a friend or when your out just buy some. But your mom is the best for support. She can tell you everything you need to know... which is a lot lol. Your health teacher (( if u have one )) would also help a lot. Hope it works
ghostiness answered Friday February 18 2005, 6:31 pm: Why on earth would you not want to tell your mother? This is a big change in your life, and of all people, your mother or a grown up woman close to you would be the best person to tell.
You don't want to experiment with tampons when you don't know what you're doing, but if you need a pad, you could go to your school nurse or purchase some yourself.
ballerina04 answered Friday February 18 2005, 4:44 pm: I think you should just tell your mom. You wouldn't have to worry about hiding anything. Plus, your mom will probably be able to tell. She knows how you normally act, and will probably notice a change. [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
Karen answered Friday February 18 2005, 4:17 pm: You really do need to tell your mom because you have to tell your mom about things like this. Why don't you want to tell your mom? Most moms are happy for their daughter when they get their first period and tell them. If you are moody when you are on your period, she probably has guessed that you have had your period. To get tampons and pads, you need to just buy them yourself or ask an older friend to. When you get cramps, just tell your mom that you did some running today or you ate something that gave you cramps. You really should just tell her to get it over with. Trust me, everything will be easier for you, once you tell her. Hope I helped :)

Rocker`Chick answered Friday February 18 2005, 4:17 pm: The way you can get tampons and pads are from your friends. And when you get craps say "Mom can you take me to the store i have to get something for school?" or say something like that and get cramp stuff. Hope it helps [ Rocker`Chick's advice column | Ask Rocker`Chick A Question ]
jbdreamer answered Friday February 18 2005, 4:12 pm: Uh, why don't you just tell her. Then you get pads for free, and you won't have to lie, lol. Besides, your mom's not dumb, she'll know what's going on. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
