Pierced
Ok this is weird but i want to get my ear pierced and my friend has a peircing gun. But my parental unit had a problem with it. But i am 17 i should be able to pierce my own ear. So the question is should i just go pierce it and come home to see what happens or not?

How desperatley do you need this piercing?
My parents made me wait till I left school...(but that was for my belly, not ear) and I'm glad they did, when I got it I was sure I wanted it because I'd waited for so long. Also, you are going to be deciding thing like what you want to do for a career soon, if you are wanting a single, high ear piercing, this might comprmise your suitability for a job, especially in a conservative field.

hey i would get your ears peirced by a profesional because if you let your friend do it the ear could get infected but i think your old enouh to get your ears pierced but you have to convince your parents that you are old and mature enough but i hoped i helped and please rate

If you want it that bad then go ahed and do it but i'm warning you , as much as you might trust your friend you never know she could mess up! Your right you should be able to pierce your own ear, but are you sure she knows what she's doing? And are you sure you won't get an infection or anything from it? Also, are the consequences worth it? I just think it'd be safer and probably smarter to do it professionally, but ultimately it is your decision.

I dont think your parents really have that much of a reason to worry..tons of people younger than you have their ears pierced. If your friend knows what hes doing with the piercing gun thingy then i would say go for it.

Okay, your parental unit's worries might not be so illogical. You're 17, not a legal adult yet. Don't go against their word because when they find out, you're going to get into trouble. It's a parent thing, so insanely predictable. You've waited this long, you can wait a little longer. That or just talk to your parents about getting it done in a safer, more professional manner. For the sake of your own social life, don't go against your parents.

I say yeah...go for it. your 17..damn near grown, and its your ears. I really dont see the problem with getting ears peirced. I got mine done when I turned 1!

Yeah you seem old enough. If you are really close to being 18 then i would do it. If you are not that close to being 18 then i would listen to them for a lil bit longer. Cuz then you have a longer time to cover it up. I got my belly button pierced and im only 15 so i have to hide it for like 3 more years :) but its my belly button and not sceen very much not during the winter anyways. but yeah if you can keep it hidden then all the power to you!!-trix

If your old enuff... than go for it... but go to a store & get it done professionally instead of using ur friends gun... doin it yourself increases the risk of gettin an infection... & it just doesn't sound like a good idea

Well you are old enough, i think you shoudl just get them pierced, but remember they can get infected and it is not good at all to use a gun b/c i read somewhere that it is way better to use needles then guns.

You should talk it over with parents but first do u knoe the consicuinces of getting your ears pierced? They could get infected just talk it over with them!

Do you parents oppose it because they don't want you pierced or because your friend would be doing it? Unless your friend is a trained professional you should not let him or her pierce you. Only a professional can reduce the risk of infection or other problems by knowing how to properly use the piercing gun. As a minor, you may have problems getting a professional to pierce you without parental consent (although that depends on the laws in your individual state). I would explain to your parents that you plan on getting it done safely by a professional, see how they respond to a fairly reasonable request. If they still oppose it and you're not old enough yet according to state law, just wait a few months until you're 18. It won't kill you.

well no because you should go get it done by like a tatoo palor if you get it done by your friend then it can get infected but if you get it done by a tatto palor then it might not get infected.

I'm 13 and my ear is already pierced 2 times in each ear and in febuary I'm getting my 3rd hole done. I think you should get ur ear pierced, because my friend pierced her tounge behind her mother's back and she's only 14. If I had a piercing gun, than I would definetly do it!!!!!!
