it could be a paniac attack left over the the post stress from the accident. I would ask my docot. It may be something else. when is your next check up..or od you have nay PT coming up?? I would ask them too.

It may be jus the fact that you are still in emotional turmoil from the wreck..which is PERFECTLY noram..there is no set time in which to get over accidents

Yes it is O.K.! you have every right to be freaked out by approaching a car! My mom got in a car accident in MAY, and i am still scared when she gets anywere near a car! You have a right to be freaked out, just know that one day, you might have to get back in a car. But just remember what my mom always told me
"A gaurdian angel is always by your side, if you want it to be"
Think about it, i f you don't make the move, how will you get over it!
Good Luck!
XOXO

It's perfectly normal, and everyone has a different time frame to heal from such traumas. However, if this is causing you to avoid things that mean you need to get in a car, you should seek some counceling services. Some people have a tougher time getting over certain things than others. There is nothing wrong with asking for a little help. If you let the problem go on too long you could develop a serious phobia that rules your life. Luck!

Yes it is normal because it was a traumatic experience.. just take a couple days of vacation chill out and if you're really worried maybe go to someone for counseling

My friends just recently got into an accident at the begining of this week. They will NOT get into a car with anyone under the age of 25. They are scared to DEATH. It's normal to be feeling like that. You're still paranoid because of what happened. I got into an accident and I only got a cut on my face from the glass but I'm still scared to death whenever a car comes even close and this happened 2 years ago. It takes a while to get over it if you even do get over it. If you really are thinking that it's stupid or whatever to be scared when you get close to a car, try going to therapy for a little while. I had to go to it because the first month after the accident I wouldn't get in a car at all. I stayed at home and watched TV for a month. Thank God it was in the summer or I would have missed so much school. But getting into an accident is scary. It's not something you can get over quickly. You're just paranoid and it's okay to be like that. Go to therapy for about a month and they'll talk you through things and you should be better. I really hope you feel better! Hope this helped.

you will be fine....its just shock and you will eventually get over it...thats why driving is so dangerous and should never be taken lightly and driving with friends can be dangerous too if they get distracted easily....all in all its nothing to be alarmed about...you can only conquer your fears if you face them head on......hope that helps

yes that's fine. you're just a little paranoid which is completely normal. Almost the same thing happend to my brother, and he gets like that too. But when you get older, you'll feel more relaxed and used to driving. I hope I helped! :)

You're fine. My dad got hit hard once and had post-traumatic-stress-disorder. He avoided that particular highway for like...a year. The other day I spun out on a highway and I can't avoid it. Driving home I was all shaky and nervous. You just had a traumatic experience. You'll heal in time. Just keep reminding yourself that nothing's going to happen, and that it was a one-time thing. That's what I told myself today when I saw the marks my tires made in the snow and saw where I stopped, driving home. >.< You just have to convince yourself it's okay. It's fine to be freaked out for awhile. It'll heal. Trust me. I've been in accidents a few times. I hope this helps! -Siren =)

It's perfectly normal to react this way after going through something as traumatizing as a car crash. You'll get over it but it just takes time to conquer that "fear". It's different for different people. Some it takes them a few days while others it may take years. If you get too worried about it then you can talk to a doctor or therapist.

xpianogirl89x answered Saturday November 27 2004, 12:11 am:
Yes that's perfectly normal... When I locked myself out of my house last winter I wouldn't close the door without checking it like 50 times first for months... (And I didn't have anything horrible happen to me.. I just froze a little) Don't worry about this I promise you that this feeling will go away. In the meantime just tell yourself that that was an accident and it doesn't mean it will happen every time. If that doesn't work talk to someone you can trust about this.. feel better soon!

Hope I helped
~Lana
