how come people say it is bad for a 13 year old to be friends or have a realationship wit a 16 year old?

Because in the general sense, guys are assholes. Older guys are bigger assholes.
Such is not always the case, however. I was 16 when I first started dating the girl I still love. (She was 13 then.) And no, it was never about sex or anything like that. With true love, age is of no importance. She just happened to be younger, that was all.
But I'm a rare case. So yes, it is usually somewhat bad.

i totally know what your going through...my best friend is going out with a 16 year old [[ shes only 13]] and i had the chance to when i was 14 but i 'wasn't allowed to' i guess the 16-year-old has MORE EXPERIENCE and your oarents or whoever doesn't want anything [[you know what i'm talking about]] to happen between you two... ya know there are a lot of teen pregnancies now [[ but i'm sure you've heard or have been told this any times before]] but adults are like that...it sucks i know and im sorry

uhh becuz it kinda is..depending on the type of person.
older people tend to take advantage over younger people. iguess its just because people are worried about what would happen to the 13 year old.

well it's not bad to be friends with a 16 year old ( i'm friends with this girl and she's 16) and well to have a relationship with a 16 year old and your 13 well i wouldn't do that if i were 13 but i'm 14 so yea i would date a 16 year old, But if your parents were ok with you dateing a 16 year old but (i dought that any parent would be ok with it), but couldn't he get in troubel for dateing a 13 yearold at 16, i think he could.

i'm not sure, I'm 13, and I asked a question about my 16 yr old boyfriend, and a few answers I got were, he's just a pedophile, and I was like BS, I love my boyfriend... yet I'll be 14 in like a month and 5 days, so it doesn't really matter.
By the way, just incase you don't know what pedophile means, it means child molester, I didn't really know what that meant until just a few weeks ago, I'm so smart, aren't I lol

A 13 year old and a 16 year old is very different. Those 3 years are very important. At 13 your in 7th grade and just beginning to get a little freedom. At 16 your a soph. or junior in HS and your getting your lisence and a lot more independent. Its fine to be friends but relationship wise its too much a difference, your in 2 different worlds.

There's a large difference in the mentality of a 13 and 16-year old. A mentor-type friendship can be good, but although 3 years is not a big difference to adults, let's think...
3 years, to a thirteen year old, is almost a quarter of your life.
3 years, to a sixteen year old, is about a fifth of your life.
3 years, to a 30 year old, is only a tenth of your life.
Those years represent a huge amount of experience and maturity (or lack thereof) between 13 and 16. It can be a mess if you try to be equals, as in relationships.

There's nothing wrong with hanging out with a 16 year old. But some guys take advantage of girls (having sex or telling them to do something they don't want them to do). But not every guy is like that. They may really love the 13 year old and wouldn't do that. You just have to be lucky to find that guy. But, some people will call the 13 year old a slut or something because they just think you are since you're with someone older and not your own age (and you're at a young age.. 13). I don't think there is anything wrong with dating or hanging out with a 16-yr-old! Whoever thinks it's bad will get over it!Some people just think you are more likely to get into trouble around someone older and they may think that you should just hang with people your age.

Because generally the 13 year old is significantly less mature than the 16 year old, or the 16 year old has designs on taking advantage of the 13 year old's naivete.
