QtWithAbooty answered Sunday August 15 2004, 8:57 pm: unless theres an ver the couter type of thing i dont think there is any other way but the doctor. n im sure the only way to geet them is a doctor just for reasons that they will prolly ask the symptoms for how much u will need. i would feel worried to tell my parents too. keep off the drinking maybe inform a friend to help u out. but all u can do is really get help from a doctor. otherwise ther is not much left to do bu wait it out [ QtWithAbooty's advice column | Ask QtWithAbooty A Question ]
TucanFullOfHoles answered Thursday August 12 2004, 9:56 am: ok, unless there are some over the counter anti depressents that i don't know about, no, you have to see your doctor so he/she can right you up a prescription. Now, your doctor isn't allowed to tell your parents, because of patient confidentiality, and if you do chose to go see your doctor, which i highly recommend, just remind him/her about that confidentiality stuff.
its good that your looking to help yourself, but keep in mind that you might just not be able to do it alone. asking for help is not a bad thing. i'm not saying go to your parents, because thats obviously not going to work, but maybe your friends, or a trusted adult. snowwalker69 answered Tuesday August 10 2004, 10:31 pm: Okay, you can rate me 1 for all I care, but you need some help. Now, I know how you feel ... i don't like telling my parents anything either ... but what your doing is soooo serious. When you start getting depressed, and drinking, and then start stabbing yourself, you HAVE TO TELL SOMEONE. You need to go on medications!!!!! And you can't go on those unless you go to your doctor .. where they can help you ... they'll recommend you to therepy, or a psychiatrist that can diagose you with depression and give you medications for it. Just please, I beg of you, get help. Your parents will find out eventually. You'll have scars, and they will wonder where you got them from .... LoStNcOnFuZeD answered Saturday August 7 2004, 2:19 am: You can make an appointment for a doctor without your parents knowing. Or say you don't feel good and get them to take you, than ask to see the doctor by yourself. Your doctor can't say anything to your parents because of patient/doctor confidentiality. SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Saturday August 7 2004, 1:55 am: to get help u are gonna have to tell ur parents to take u to see a therapist or sumthing... and they can prescribe an antidepressant... u cant get anything without a prescription, u cant get a prescription without seein a doctor, and if ur under 18 u cant see a doctor without ur parents... u need to see a doctor ASAP... they do have emerygency sessions for people that need help asap... just tell ur parents that u dont feel good emotionally... and go from there... once u talk to sum1 u will feel a lot better... and im sure you'll be fine once u get an anit-depressant... good luck [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]
girdy_goo15 answered Saturday August 7 2004, 1:29 am: i don't care how you rate me but you need help. you need to tell your parents. this isn't minor it's serious and you need to talk to someone. and if you do get ahold of some zoloft you will regret it because they don't help they just supress your emotions until it gets to be too much. so talk to someone [ girdy_goo15's advice column | Ask girdy_goo15 A Question ]

xo_Meg_ox answered Saturday August 7 2004, 1:07 am: if you can't talk to your parents, then maybe you can talk to another adult such as a teacher or a coach or something? and i know you don't believe this, but your parents might react differently than you think - sure, it may shock them at first, but their priority is you and your health, so they are bound to make decisions to keep you healthy! sry if that's not the advice you wanted, but it's the best advice i can offer [ xo_Meg_ox's advice column | Ask xo_Meg_ox A Question ]
BeastFromTheWeast answered Saturday August 7 2004, 12:59 am: Well i really dont know what to tell you there. I myself am taking Zoloft, and it made me into a much better person. There arent really any sort of anti-depressents you can get without going to a doctor. I didnt want to tell my parents how i was feeling so i avoided talking to them about it for a long time. If you care enough out yourself and getting better than you NEED to talk to someone. You cant try to find ways around it. Your parents need to know whats going on..and they are the only people who can get you meds. Like it or not..thats what you have to do. I dont care if you rate me a 1 or whatever because i am just giving you the truth. Its your choice whether to take it or not. I am sure your parents would much rather help than find you passed out in a puddle of your own blood. Think about it.
rockchik41 answered Saturday August 7 2004, 12:48 am: yeah...i doubt you can get zoloft without a prescription. just a question though...didn't your parents notice the blood everywhere, or the wounds in your wrist?
but yeah..anyway, i've heard that st. john's wort does work, and i think you can get that over the counter without a prescription. even if you were getting a prescription for an anti-depressant, i'd be hesitant, because in some cases it just makes it worse. MFS answered Saturday August 7 2004, 12:34 am: This is NOT something you can just up and decide on your own - you are not a medical professional, you are not a psichiatrist or psychologist. And NO, you can't get such drugs without a prescription - and they will likely NEVER sell such drugs without a prescription due to the nature of those types of drugs.
Don't talk to your parents - that's your choice... but it sure as hell sounds like you need to talk to someone... find an adult you can trust and talk to them. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
