Rate me! I rate!
Hi, MFS here again...
This is not really a question, but a request...
Can we please stop it with the "I rate" and "Rate me!" crap? Are getting ratings THAT important to you? Does it somehow make your life complete? This site isn't a game, people... ratings are not for keeping score. There is no competition - just advice. The ratings are supposed to be for keeping the bad advice off the site, much like we have the moderators in place to help keep the really bad questions off the site.
I mean, when I see a question that says "I rate!" in the body or even subjet of it, it just screams "OMG! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!" It is getting kind of pathetic, as we're seeing it ALL THE TIME!
Let's give it a rest.

I wish I wasn't so late to read this sooner. I couldn't agree more! Seeing "I rate" "Plz Rate" question's is almost as bad as seeing "I'm 5'1 and weigh 95lbs.. am I fat?"
It's so rediculous. It would be awesome if everytime someone asked that stupid question they got banned for 5 days, that'd make me very happy.

if sum1 asks me to rate them , then i either rate REALLY LOW, or if the advice is REALLY good, then i give em a 3
i did at 1 point say i rate, just because i knew that i'd actually get answers, but i don't do it anymore

thing is i think rate means that they rate u show your that you gave them advice thats help.. not there better anybody.. so u know that you help thats person.. but thing is we dont have use rate use a thank good advice mesasage.. or say people just need more help say I try something like that but i need more help.. Idk it dont borther me..

I agree..I do say "rate me" but half the ppl don't.. it seems like if someone says" I RATE GOOD" or "I RATE" that everyone jumps to it just cuz of those 2 or 3 words.

first off...we do give advice...atleast i know i do...n im sure other ppl try there best to...just not for the ratins...we give ppl advice n in return for that advice we ask for a ratin..whats the big deal? as long as we help it shouldnt matter

i see where your coming from... but sometimes people like to know what people think of their advice so they can learn or grow from what they said. Its good to be rated to be informed, but you are right, it doesnt need to be all over the place. The sucky thing is no matter how much people realize it, there will never be an end to the rating crap... lol... stinx...

Hi i think that people say i rate because they want us to give them a better answer or, like you said, they just want attention.. but i dont pay attention to the ratings i just answer them!

People should be answering questions that are good, and actually really need answeres, not the questions that claim to give good ratings.

Yeah, I agree. It's great if you rate people...but you don't need to announce it. It's showing up everywhere and pretty soon all questions will be saying " I rate." Thanks for bringing that up! -Mandee

I'm tired of seeing PLZ RATE IF I HELPED as well.
I guess it's a popularity thing.
The higher the rating the cooler you are.
It's not like you're gonna get a prize for your rating.
