Can we please stop it with the "I rate" and "Rate me!" crap? Are getting ratings THAT important to you? Does it somehow make your life complete? This site isn't a game, people... ratings are not for keeping score. There is no competition - just advice. The ratings are supposed to be for keeping the bad advice off the site, much like we have the moderators in place to help keep the really bad questions off the site.
I mean, when I see a question that says "I rate!" in the body or even subjet of it, it just screams "OMG! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!" It is getting kind of pathetic, as we're seeing it ALL THE TIME!
S_C answered Wednesday August 4 2004, 9:34 am: thankyou
i am sick of people that do that
if sum1 asks me to rate them , then i either rate REALLY LOW, or if the advice is REALLY good, then i give em a 3
i did at 1 point say i rate, just because i knew that i'd actually get answers, but i don't do it anymore [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]

Kissxme1121 answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:41 pm: I agree..I do say "rate me" but half the ppl don't.. it seems like if someone says" I RATE GOOD" or "I RATE" that everyone jumps to it just cuz of those 2 or 3 words. [ Kissxme1121's advice column | Ask Kissxme1121 A Question ]

Mercy_x_Me answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:14 pm: i see where your coming from... but sometimes people like to know what people think of their advice so they can learn or grow from what they said. Its good to be rated to be informed, but you are right, it doesnt need to be all over the place. The sucky thing is no matter how much people realize it, there will never be an end to the rating crap... lol... stinx...
Theresababe92 answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:09 pm: Hi i think that people say i rate because they want us to give them a better answer or, like you said, they just want attention.. but i dont pay attention to the ratings i just answer them!

selectopaque answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:07 pm: hopefully people will get the point and actually stop saying it.
Mandee answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:07 pm: Yeah, I agree. It's great if you rate people...but you don't need to announce it. It's showing up everywhere and pretty soon all questions will be saying " I rate." Thanks for bringing that up! -Mandee [ Mandee's advice column | Ask Mandee A Question ]
