my foster kitten is a biter! ahh!! he does not know what to do with himself if he is not biting something..including me! What can i do to stop him from doing this?
xoMarisox answered Wednesday August 4 2004, 9:51 am: Try to train him. Cats are harder then dogs but just try. If that doesn't help I would give him up. Or go somepleace where a vet like person could poss. tell you whats wrong! [ xoMarisox's advice column | Ask xoMarisox A Question ]
BeastFromTheWeast answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:48 pm: Your kitty is just sort of teething. My friends kitten does that all the time and it drives him nuts. You cant stop the kitten from doing it..most kittens go through a biting stage, and once they get a bit older they will stop. Just hang in there. Mercy_x_Me answered Sunday August 1 2004, 3:12 am: Well if hes a kity, hes probably teething. GET HIM LOTS AND LOTS OF TOYS THAT HE CAN CHEW, BITE, AND SCRATCH UP. You can obviously get these at a local pet store, or even supermarkets have them sometimes near cat foods. Everytime he does bite your or something he shouldnt be biting, pick him up and scold him, then blow into his eyes, cats hate it, it wont harm them, just show them who's boss. For the days where he goes without biting anything he shouldnt, feed him little treats at the end of the day. He will eventually figure out whos the boss and whats acceptable... hope i helped :-D [ Mercy_x_Me's advice column | Ask Mercy_x_Me A Question ]
crystal200022us answered Sunday August 1 2004, 1:26 am: This is very typical in kittens so really there isn't a whole lot you can do for this. If it really bugs you that much, though, if you have a Petco or some pet store near you then there is this stuff for no biting (which usually is used for dogs) but it has a bitter taste to it and you can spray it wherever. It might work but just give the kitten some attention too. I hope this helps and good luck!

xo_dream answered Sunday August 1 2004, 12:52 am: A lot of kittens go through that stage .. try playing with him when he starts to bite, and if he keeps doing it, get a spray bottle and put it on the mist setting, and spray him with that every time he bites something .. it works wonders! :o) [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]

Sweetie2oo4 answered Saturday July 31 2004, 11:10 pm: give him toys to take his attention off biting you and things he's not allowed to bite..they also have toy blocks for animals at the pet store that are made to stop the biting..they're suppose to start to only chew on the blocks after so long instead of biting something or someone else...hope i helped..xO`lexi
