chaos answered Friday July 16 2004, 8:51 am: If you have been having unprotected sex and are seeing someone new, you should have it before sex. If you don't use a condom, you shouldn't be having sex at all. If you are ignorant enough not to use a condom, get tested after sex. An AIDs test is to be used to keep from infecting other people, and to take care of yourself. [ chaos's advice column | Ask chaos A Question ]
S_C answered Thursday July 15 2004, 9:53 pm: i would before and after, before so if u have STD's/AID's u don't transfer them, and after to make sure u didn't get them!!
Lizzy answered Thursday July 15 2004, 7:37 pm: You probably want to get tested for it if you don't know the guy that well, because sometimes, people have HIV for five years before realizing it and it gets worse and worse. So i recomend you should go get it tested

If you hav already had sex and have not been cheked yet, then i think that you should get checked b4 attempting to have sex again. [ toughkitty's advice column | Ask toughkitty A Question ]
selectopaque answered Thursday July 15 2004, 6:46 pm: I really wish that people knew more about std's. hiv/aids is an STD... Sexually Transmitted Disease. or STI...Sexually Transmitted Infection. That means that it is TRANSMITTED through sexual contact. (transmitted means it is transfered from one person to another) So you need to get tested after you have sex with someone without using a condom. You can actually get it three months after the last time you had unprotected sex without it showing up on the test results.
This subject really upsets me because if anyone out there would do a tiny bit of research on stds then you would find out that there are SO many people out there who could have an std and not even know it. There are way too many people that have sex and only use a condom if they don't take birth control, these people could have a disease, and end up spreading it to more and more people.
marksbitch answered Thursday July 15 2004, 6:26 pm: When you were born you were most likely tested for HIV because if one of your parents have it, chances are you have it as well. You should get ALWAYS tested after sex, for all STDS, and it's a good idea to go and get tested BEFORE sex with your boyfriend/girlfriend to prevent getting an STD. Also, if you are using narcotics or sharing needles, you should get tested ASAP. And if you are planning on having sex, use a condom or diaphram. :) [ marksbitch's advice column | Ask marksbitch A Question ]
Mackenzie answered Thursday July 15 2004, 6:07 pm: Well it can be transmitted through sex, yep. Also, through an injury of some sort where someone else's blood mixs with yours. [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
Believenchances answered Thursday July 15 2004, 5:33 pm: IF you are sexually active then both. i am so glad that you asked this because it is a great question. More people should take the responsibility and KNOW!
IF you are going to have unprotected sex even though it is not safe and I do not and will not promote it. Get tested. Both you and your partner whether you or they are virgins.
