Hi, Jollylollipop! I LOVE your name! Anyways, I need some help: I really want to earn money, but I am not 12 yet to babysit. What should I do? I REALLY want money!

have a garage/yard sale and get rid of some pointless/useless things that you don't want anymore, or have a lemonade stand and sell cookies with it too or something! just go to the dollar store and buy some cheap cookies and cheap packages of lemonade or kool aid or something... and do that!!

But if you REALLY want money then offer to shovel peoples driveways for a few dollars, see your parents about getting allowance for some chores etc etc.

You know their are other ways to make money right? You could hold a book sale with all of your old books that you don't read anymore, or a garage sale with all of your old stuff.

You could find small jobs around your house or neighborhood, like mowing the grass, or cleaning the house, etc. I'm sure you'll find something.

all kids want a way to earn money, my little brothers are always after it..
one way would be to ask you parents or you brother/sister(s) if you could do some odd jobs around the house.. for a little money
when i want money i usually go to the elders in my neighborhood and ask if they need any help around the house.. since it isnt always easy for them to get stuff done, like it is for us! they love to just have you there to talk to, but u dont get paid for that.. so tell them you are just looking for a way to earn a little extra money to spend and im positive that they will have something for you to do! especially around this time of year.. raking their lawns or shoveling their snow helps them a whole lot..
u say your money hungry.. y do u need the money? i think that you should be happy with what you have and think about all the children who dont have near that... just a note.. but really consider that when you quote "money hungry" it will change the way you think about yourself and what you have!

instead of babysitting maybe you could petsit or water plants for people? That's what I did when I was younger. You could also try and wash cars for people or be a mother's helper, and watch kids while the parents are busy but still in the house.

I wopuld offer to do extra chores for your perents and other relatives, on the condition they 'up' your pocket money depending on the omount of work you do.

I should first tell you that my name is Samantha. I am a new columnist here at Advicenators, and I am answering your question because I volunteered to answer some RANDOM questions to get me started. That said, on to your question.
First, just let me say that you have a GREAT ATTITUDE! To be so goal oriented and financially consciencious at your age is very rare, and having the smarts to seek guidance for it is almost unheard of! Therefore, I believe that you will undoubtedly go far no matter what it is that you choose to do in life. Now, to help you get started.
First, you do not specify whether you are male or female, so I can't yet suggest anything real specific, but I'll do my best to give you a general idea of things that you can do.
First and foremost, take out a pen and a peice of paper and write down your interests, starting with your favorite things to, and continuing on to things of lessor interest, but that you still like. List as many as you can, and then think hard! Is there some way that you can do ANY of those things now and make some money at them?
For instance, if you like to mow lawn or garden, you could talk to your parents, and if it's okay with them, put an add in the paper offering to mow lawns or help people with their garden work for either a per hour fee, or a set fee, whichever you like.
If you like to craft or bake, you could make some items, and then ask your parents to help you arrange a bake sale or a craft sale in your community.
Find out what people in your community need help with and then charge them money to help them with it. Wash cars, rake lawns, paint houses, clean houses, feed chickens or groom horses, organize a dog bathing party, or start your own dog walking service, or a dog or cat sitting service. Many people work very long hours and cannot be with their pets when they want to be. Offer to watch their pets at your house for them while they're at work. Start thinking in these directions, and I'm sure you'll find something you can do that you will enjoy.
I know that you are not yet old enough to babysit, but you may be old enough to attend some daycare classes. Have your Mom or Dad look into it for you. This way, you could get your babysitting certificate or daycare license now, so that when your old enough to babysit, you're that further ahead of the game.
And lastly, if you can't figure anything else out for now, go through your belongings. Figure out what you don't want anymore, or what you can do without, and then sell those things.
There are endless possibilities, but the main thing is to keep that great attitude and NEVER give up! Pay attention to your talents and your interests and share them with your parents. Ask them to support you and help you to shape these talents and interests into a career for yourself. The sooner you get started, the better chance you have for a really wonderful future.

Well, in my neighborhood, there is a lot of little kids! But I too, can't babysit! So, when I need money I beome the mom's helper. So when she has two little kids, and she has to feed one and put the other one to sleep, I come in. Or, some of my friends some times babysits pets!

Who says the only way you can earn money is by babysitting? Personally, I couldn't stand doing that job anyway. How about a pet sitting service? You know, walking the dogs, feeding the fish, you get my drift. Try asking your parents for errands you could do for pay.

Mow peoples lawn or wash there car. Ask your parents if theres anythig you could do around the house for some extra money.

Actually there isn't much you can do to get money at that age, unless your the type of person that doesn't mind doing yard work. Believe it or not you can make some mad cash buy cleaning peoples yard and or rooms in houses. Or comprimise with your parents on getting a bigger allowance, but if you do that remember you have to be fair with them about it.

I think that you should make some cookies and sell them to neighbors, or bracelets, key chains, necklaces; something that your can sell. Then you will earn some money while you are waiting to turn twelve.
