Why do people like Like other people?

Ok, i know why someone would like someone [as in you find then attractive, they have a good personality, and they are kind and caring people] that part makes sense. But ive always wondered what it is exactly that creates the feeling of liking a person?
For example there could be two guys: both are sweet, friendly, and good looking [obviously everyone has a different idea of what good looks are but physical attraction is also part of liking a person] So both these guys would be cool and fun to hang out with, but maybe a person would only be attracted to one. I wonder why, what creates this attraction to only one, when the other is just as good? There has to be something about a person that you find special, maybe like something about ...

i've developed stronger than friends feelings for this guy i like. i know you hear this A LOT. i asked him recently to check this restaurant out w/me,and he asked if i've asked anyone else amongst our group of friends,i said i hadn't and he said okay that's better anyway.so i left it up to him to set the date to meet,and we had dinner on saturday night.the thing is,we hung out from 7pm to 3 am!and there never was an awkward moment,we were so comfortable in each other's presence,i didn't even feel time pass until my parents called haha,so then he hugs me and we part ways.oh yeah and by the end of the night(or should i say early morning)i was secure enough to ask of his past relationships:he's only had 1,and that was 3 years ago.he called a f...

(Sorry, it's long. BUT I REALLY NEED HELP!)
Well I'm 17 & my girlfriend is 15. I am currently in college (I started school at an early age)in San Francisco & she's out in Anaheim. I have gotten into some trouble. Therefore, I can't leave school for 5 weeks. & I can't see my girlfriend. While I was out here, she found out things about me that I have never told her. She found out I have a kid, and that I have a criminal record. At first she was mad, but then she forgave me. Well that same week, I was told that if I behave, I can get out of the school in 2 1/2 weeks. I turned out I got into a fight the day after, and so now I'm back to 5 weeks. And my girlfriend got really mad. So mad, that she was about to break up ...

Ok well my problem is kinda weird, but anyways...
You see I REALLY like this guy and well last semester he was in my science class and well I kinda got his msn and we were talking over that and well we kinda had a fight (long story), but then this semester he was in my drama class and he was acting as if the fight never happend so then things were good again and I started to like him again, but now I actually think I like him even more than I did before!
Except the problem is that he got expelled so now he's going to a different school and well I still really like him. I miss him SO much! And I think I'm the only one who misses him because everyone else either thinks it's funny that he got expelled or they just don...

how can you tell the difference in a jealous type boyfriend vs. just a protective one? obviously one is protective and one acts jealous but can you elaborate for me? bc he claims to not be jealous haha but he kind of acts otherwise.

ok well me and my boyfriend have been dating for a bout 7 months will be about 8 when its his b-day...he's gonna be 17 and i have NO CLUE what to get him
i have like no money so my mom will only spend like $25 on him
cant be cologn i bought hima huge thing for christmas and he's got alot.
any ideas?

okay, well i like this guy. we're kind of "talking" now i guess, and everythings good. BUT..hes super flirty - with everyone. it just bothers me. he especially flirts with my friends - even though i know he likes ME and doesnt mean to, i need some help. i dont want to come across as a jealous person and its not like hes technically MINE yet..but what do i do???

hey so i really liek this guy and he is two grades above me and very well liked so it is pretty much impossible that i could ever get with him but does anyone have any advice whatsoever. i'm a freshman while he is a junior in high school. I know this is pretty much impossible but does anyone have anything i can do or say around him to make him think of me in a different way? we arent good friends at all but we have talked before and he knows me. i dont want to like write on his facebook wall or do anything like that cause i dont know him well enough.. anything else?

Well..there is dis boy dat I lyke right and he broke up with his girlfriend 2 years and sumtin months ago right and hes still not over her but she allready moved on and he didnt and i cant tell if he likes me because all the time i see him in school he flirts with me and hes maaaaaddd sweet to me and we hug each other and he treats like a girl should be treated but then again hes not over his exgirlfriend!!

Ok so I do love my girlfriend, I know it will sound weird given the title of my question, but I do love her. She's my best friend and we've been together 15 months, I see her almost everyday and when I don't see her I miss her. We do loads together, we have dinner together almost every evening, go out socialising and have a really good time. I am an 18 yr old girl w/ a bf who i have been dating on & off for about a year now. He asked me back out recently & i really didnt want to say yes but felt obligated to. so we're currently dating. recently, another guy has started to show interest in me. we hung out a few times recently & he actually kissed me. i feel awful because i dont think the guy knows about my bf & i know my bf doesnt know about the guy [they go to different schools] i know i need to make a choice but i dont know what to do... i have more fun with the other guy, but i know my bf is the better 'boyfriend' in the sitatuion. im so stuck!

Okay, so I met this guy last year and right now we're friends. But for some reason I can't stop thinking about him, and I go out of my way to pass him in the hallway at school, and I'm always checking my buddy list to see if he's on..etc.
I'm thinking I might have a crush on him or something..But the strange thing is that i can't actually picture a relationship with him. Like I wouldn't say yes if he asked me out and all I want to do is stay friends.
Can someone explain to me what's going on here? Because I'm really confused. =(

Ok so me and this guy met last summer and we bacame extremly good friends. We even dated for about a month and half but we had to end things because we never saw eachother. The thing is though I fell head over heels for this guy. Just looking at him leaves me breathless I have never felt so strongly about a person before. well i went to one of my bff's b-day party today at this place and there was this really cute guy and i know tht he goes to my skool. but the thing is, is that he;s in the 8th grade and im in 7th [and yes im 13 i just turned 13 this year] and like my friends told me tht they told him i liked him and he smiled but idontkno if he just means im cute or like he acctully* likes me. and i dont see him much at skool. and when i left with my friend he like waved by at him and he waved bye backk. idontknow if he;s just being nice because he knows im in 7th or he thinks im cuttttttte.

So I'm 18/f.
I'm in a long-distance relationship right now, with an amazing guy. He's coming to town for a week on the 14th and I can't wait to see him.
But my mom is being a huge hassle. For one, she's making him stay at a hotel on the other side of town (which is 60 bucks a night.) Plus, she read his blog on his myspace and made him add her as a friend on facebook just so she can "know what this kid's all about". I find myself repeatedly apologizing to him because of her invasion of our relationship (she's always asking me what he meant by blah blah blah or teasing me about what I'll leave him for a comment, etc.) It's getting so annoying. I know she means well, but I feel like I'm under constant supervisio...
