Hi my name is Janie and I am almost 18 years old and going into my senior year of high school. I have been dating my boyfriend for about 8 months now and everything has been fine. I know I have a good life. I have a family that loves me, I have a lot of good friends, I get good grades in school,etc. but for some reason, I still get depressed a lot. A couple years ago, I was having extreme self esteem issues (which led to an eating disorder) and problems with my relationship with my parents and I started cutting myself. And the only people I could talk to about it weren't helping me in the way I needed. My parents don't understand what I went through then. They thought I was overreacting when I tried getting help from them.

Lacking Inspiration

Hey guys.
Okay I love to write and I have a passion for English. I'm going to college to study it in September.
Okay so lately the problem is I'm totally lacking inspiration and motivation.
I haven't written since I finished school which is a good few months ago. My actual English final exam for school went very badly. I put too much pressure on myself because I wanted to do so well that I panicked and ended up doing not nearly as good as I wanted to.
Ever since then I lost confidence in myself.
I started second guessing myself and wondering am I really as good as I once thought? I'm also wondering will I be cut out for studying it in college..

My bestfriend is starting to annoy me. She constantly complains about her life being terrible but I know for a fact it isn't that bad. Her family is so nice and she treats them like shit. okay, I've had this friend for almost 4 years on and off;
well about three weeks ago, she came over and stayed the night; and everything was fine. I took her home the next morning; and we talked a little bit after that;
which is normal; we don't talk every single day; just here and there.
well, today I get on facebook and I was going to tell her I missed her on her wall; and when I did, I realized we weren't friends on there anymore.

So back at the beginning of this year I dated a guy who I thought would never date me for a month. He ended up breaking up with me, but dragged it out for another month. So, i have blond hairs on my stomach and they don't look bad but they show up in the sun a lot and I don't like that. So, i shaved the bottom of my stomach like around and below my belly button. Well, that was a bad idea because now you can tell where i did it because of the hair on the top of my stomach. I dont wan't a hairy stomach but I dont want to shave my entire abdomen either. What do i do to make it look right and it not look so messes up?

Major in Art?

I'm thinking about getting my bachelor's degree in studio art because I LOVE art and always had a passion for it. I took a few classes and my professors told me that they see something in me and that I have natural talent. Although I know that I'll enjoy it, I'm afraid to major in art because I don't know what kind of career options I'll have. Should I follow my dream and go for it or just major in something that I don't enjoy just to be on the safe side? Thank you so much for your responses!

Hey guys. Okay recently I have been having trouble getting to sleep at night. its driving me crazy, as usually I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. The more I cant sleep the more frustrated I get. its like my mind wont shut off. Likw today I fell asleep on the couch at 10pm woke close to 11 and was really tired. So naturally I thought yes I can sleep but once I got to bed widw awake! its now 3am and here I am. Whenever Im close to sleep its like i think great now dont dp aanything to disrupt this..and then im awake again. Its frustrating because Im sleeping until the afternoon then.
