Why does everyone dance like a whore at PROM!?

Basically, I am a 17 year old girl and prom is coming up soon.....it seems like all that girls and guys do these days is grind, but I don't really get what the point of grinding is or why thats the only way we dance.....anyhow: do you have any tips or advice for me.....because I'm really shy and don't necessarily want to be all up on a guy....if ya feel me....

i need to know how to bump and grind. i was at a dance the other night and this girl wanted to dance with me and she started bumping and grinding up against me and i didnt know what to do. i felt stupid. and she got really low to like my knees and i didnt know if i should try to get that low either. can somebody please help me?

So i have been with this guy for a while. and we arent bf/gf but we hang out all the time and know we like eachother and would never do anything with anyone else. so there was a school dance that i went to with a bunch of my friends cause he couldnt go and at it there was this guy that used to go to our school but now goes to private school. he is really hot and he was flirting and grinding with me. i wasnt necesarily flirting back but i wasnt stopping it. i told him i didnt have a boyfriend (cause technically i dont) but then after that night he was texting me and we were talking and stuff. and i definantly want to stay with the guy i am with now cause i know we are really good together but i dont want him to find out about that other guy....

knee aches

When I was in cheerleading, over 6 years ago, I had problems with my knees and I could barely bend them. The next year in cheerleading it wasn't as bad but still hurt. I took a 2 year break and I was in dance for 3 years after that. During that time it would hurt every now and then in performances and also when i go to sleep. I haven' done dance in over a year and just from standin on my knees they hurt. The pain is coming from under my knee cap and at the top. In my athleic training class we had to do this clarks grind test where you press down on the knee cap and flex it to feel for grinding and my knee did just that.What could it be?? I know for a fact it's not a torn ligament.

well i just went to my 8th grade dance, and lots of girls are becoming more physical with boys.. like some kids were already grinding, or some others were dancing together like it was nothing.. I dont have any guy friends like that that I could dance with them and not get embarassed or always see it in the romantic way.. Ive never even had a boyfriend while all my other friends mostly have.. I mean I'm not ugly or anything but its weird.. I guess I can be choosy with some guys but how can i be more comfortable with guys and become good friends with them and stuff? thanks. cause usually im with my gal pals.

i'll try not to make this too long. so there's this guy named joe, and he just got out of a relationship with this girl, they were together for about 5 or 6 months. I know this may sound really stupid. I have this friend, we are really close and what not. He's a guy and I'm a girl. Well, he doesn't believe me that I can be really girl. He mentions how I don't go after guys and I don't show my "sexy" side and I don't really act sexual. We are both going to a party tomnorrow night. 2 weeks ago he said I better dance with him. Which means grinding and what not. Do you know any ways to show him that he is wrong and I can be someone I don't exactly show easily. Maybe somehow turn him on and loosen him up.
