laptop battery life.

i got a new dell laptop at the end of may as a graduation present. i love it, but the battery already sucks. i can only squeeze out about 2 hours out of it before having to plug it in again. i leave it on almost all the time, but at night with the lid closed (and plugged into the charger). what can i do to make it last longer?

Cheating / something / confusion.

Me and my girlfriend were at a (female) friend's place recently for a party. To cut a long story short, a large quantity of liquor was consumed, and we ended up sharing her bed.
We ended up fooling around rather a lot... her one rule was not reaching 4th with the friend. This was okay, this was permitted.
It was in the morning that things went badly - her friend was still rather affectionate, but I was told that this morning was the end of it. My girlfriend fell asleep again and the affection was returned. Halfway through it all she woke up again.
Needless to say, we are in trouble.
I went through a big show of assuring her that it was all okay, that it meant nothing to me and that...

I made a mistake and started smoking just before I turned 14...but I gave up after about 7 months of smoking. Stupid I know, but I gave up :]
Now I'm constantly thinking about it and I tend to miss it.
What are some things or whatever I could do to stop thinking about it.
I'm not going to start again, I don't want to...but I need to stop thinking about it and I don't want to miss it.

ok so i live in a society where having sex is completely normal. i have had one sexual partner in my life and we were together for 3 years. we broke up a year ago and now i am currently engaged to a man i am head over heals in love with, the only problem is he thinks im a virgin. and if i do not bleed on my wedding night i am doomed for a divorce. we are both muslims and i need some advice on how i can fake my virginity for my wedding night. either by putting fake blood inside of me or any creams or pills that can make me bleed. What does being a Christian really mean?

What does it mean to be a Christian exactly? I have always considered myself to be a Christian and now I wonder what being a Christian means really.
My best friend and I were talking and she seems to believe that being Christian means you have to go to church every day it's open but I don't believe that. I think my best friend has good ideas about Christianity in that we, as Christians, should be tending to (helping) others, Christian or not, but I am unsure about the need to go to church.
I know lots of celebrities are Christian, like the Jonas Brothers (all three that I'm aware of--Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas), Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Alicia Keys, and Tom Hanks. I don't think they go to ...

I recently started a job washing dishes at a restaurant and since that first day its been about 3 weeks my left hand hurts. the pain is constant and in the area below my pointer finger but there isnt a bruise or a scar im not sure if i injured something insie or if it is something else. HELP

so last night was my first night at a new restarant job as a waitress. ive done waitressing before, so im experienced.
a group of 5 kids my age (19) walk in and they were my second table on my very first night. one of them recognized me as a classmate in the college i attend.
basically they gave me a hard time about EVERYTHING! when i put a soda down, they asked it to be switched to a different one, no ice, etc.
To make it worse, one of the dishes got sent back because they thought it was going to be like "chinese" chicken they claimed.
I could deal with that to an extent. But they left no tip! ? And this kid sits right next to me in a small class of like 7. How do i act around him? do i say ...

so my sister has been having trouble with the family... ALOT. i admit she is a pain in the ass and a demon at times but regardless she's my sister and i really feel that i ought to help her :S....

For a research paper I'm doing, Who are you voting for and why? (if your not old enought to vote but would if you could- same question applies)
My example:
I am choosing Mccain. He represents almost everything I stand for. I think Sarah Palin would be a great vice too. She believes abortions shouldnt be done so freely without a good reason (mothers life in jeoperady, incest..etc) Also, Obama was quoted saying "The war in Iraq was a mistake" saying that, I feel was disrespectful to everyone who has faught and died in freedom's honor.

Born with neck growth/tumor

i was born with a neck tumor or growth and had surgery and was lucky to survive well the surgery made my right side of my neck/undermy chin area not as fatty as the left side. Well now im 16 and i found a bump and i keep getting random pains over there but i dont want to go to the doctor cuz i went 2 years ago for the fear of having it back and it was just a swollen lyph node and i dont want to waste time and money going back and it being nothing.
anything i can do or whatever idk i just need help :(
and i cant compare the lyph node sizes or anything because one side is fattier making it hard to do so.
the bubble is hard to spot i have to rub a round a bit until it pops up.
doesnt hurt to touch tho.
