i got a new dell laptop at the end of may as a graduation present. i love it, but the battery already sucks. i can only squeeze out about 2 hours out of it before having to plug it in again. i leave it on almost all the time, but at night with the lid closed (and plugged into the charger). what can i do to make it last longer?
1. Don't leave it plugged in longer than it needs for a full charge. This burns away battery life. Just charge it when it's almost dead and charge it until it's full.
2. Don't charge your battery half-way and then take it off. When you charge make sure to get a full charge.
3. Don't charge your battery until almost empty. Don't start a charge when your batter is half full.
4. DON'T LEAVE THE COMPUTER ON ALL THE TIME. When you aren't using it, turn it off. This is VITAL.
