How to keep my kids calm when going through the drive-thru?! Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:40 pm
I like to take my little twin boys out once a month. We end up going through a drive-thru somewhere and getting lunch or dinner and heading down to the playground or park area for a couple of hours. We always have such a nice time but I have a problem when we first start the adventure at the drive-thru! As soon as we are in the line at the speaker post both of my boys start going crazy. They start yelling and screaming and trying to get out of their seats. They say all sorts of things from greeting the person taking my order over and over and OVER again to demanding ice cream, cookies, toys, and other treats. It's so embarrassing and I'm sure the order-takers probably think I can't control my own kids in a drive-thru line!
How ...

Should I remove my broken, black smashed toenail? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:39 pm
More than 6 months ago I dropped something on my foot and it smashed my toenail place very good. It hurt REALLY bad and instantly bruised up underneathe the nail. It hurt for the first two weeks really badly and was difficult to wear shoes (had to anyway because of work). Well, it's been awhile now and my toenail has grown out quite a bit. This week it has start to detach from the toe itself (the toenail is still black/purple looking...nasty). Should I go on and pull/clip the rest of the toenail off or let it fall off in time by itself?

Is there a test for color-blindness? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:39 pm
About a month ago my boyfriend figured out that I have problems seeing the difference in certain colors like red and orange. Since then I've noticed that it's more than just a casual-sometimes problem. I've noticed that I have problems ALL the time with these colors. Is there a professional test I can take to see if I have problems with other colors that I haven't realized yet? I read that it's extremely rare that girls have colorblindness issues but, apparently, it can happen. Should I see a doctor or something?

How do I become friends again with an ex-friend? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:39 pm
All through high school I had this friend. We had a lot of classes together. I was pretty much her only friend but we were close! We even sat beside each other on graduation day. I went to her graduation party afterward. I totally knew all of her secrets and I thought we would be friends forever! When we graduated we ended up going to the same community college but didn't share any classes together and, so, rarely saw each other. We stopped talking after awhile and drifted off on our own paths. Well, the other day I was at work (cashiering) and she came through my line! I was so excited and tried to make conversation with her but she would not say a single word to me! I don't know what to think about it now.
I reall...

How do I tell my parents that I have an eating disorder? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:38 pm
For about eight months now I've been not doing very well. I have been not eating very much at all and, when I do, I end up making myself throw it back up. I am pretty such I am anorexic. I've lost a lot of weight but I've been SO sick. My parents thought I was just on a diet because that's what I kept telling them over and over. I did very good at lying to them so I don't know what to do now because I'm seeing that I need help. My body is a wreck and I'm so unhappy with all of this. I want to be normal again. How do I tell my parents that I've been lying to them and that I'm really sick with this anorexia eating disorder?!

Should I donate my kidney to my uncle? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:38 pm
My uncle is really sick and his kidneys are failing him. He's had this kidney trouble for years now and he's been in and out of the hospital. He has not found a donor yet and has been waiting on the list for quite some time. I just found out that I'm a match for him. My mom doesn't want me to donate my kidney though because she says I'm way too young to be doing things like that and that I might end up regretting it later. I'm not sure what to do though. I don't want him to die because he's always been good to me. What should I do? What are the REAL pros & cons of doing this? Help?

Is an electric toothbrush better than a regular manual toothbrush? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:37 pm
I saw this ad on TV about a cheap electric toothbrush for $15 and I've been thinking about buying it. I heard that electric toothbrushes are better for your teeth for some reason but then my friend said that they aren't and that they will damage the teeth. I am confused and don't know what to think. I don't want to damage my teeth. Which is best for my teeth?

What has Obama done for us? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:37 pm
President Barack Obama has been in the white house office for more than a year now but I don't know anything he's done for the country yet. I know he was talking about fixing our health care but he hasn't done anything with that idea that I am aware of. He also promised to get our troops back home and they're STILL overseas fighting. I want to know what Obama HAS done though. I want to be proud of our president and not confused or unsure.

Are $2 bills real or fake? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:36 pm
I am a cashier at this little store near my house and this guy gave me a two-dollar bill today. He told me to act just like it was two one-dollar bills and that it's real. I took it and put it in the till but now I'm nervous that I took fake money. Are two-dollar bills real or did the guy lie to me? I'm so afraid I'm going to lose my job if this is like a common sense thing! What should I tell my boss as to why I took a fake $2 bill?! :(

Why do guys go bald on their heads but can have beards? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:36 pm
My boyfriend is going bald but he doesn't seem to have a problem growing facial hair on his chin. Why do guys seem to do that? My principal is REALLY bald but has a beard, too. Is that normal? Does their hair just stop growing on their heads and grow more on their face then?

Are there any REAL, legitimate work at home jobs available? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:36 pm
I was reading here about somebody doing a W@H job for awhile. I don't know if it's common for them to go out of business but I figured that if there was ONE company doing something with Work@Home then more companies were offering this type of job opportunity. Where can I find REAL work at home jobs though? I am in the U.S. if that matters...

how do I know when it's time to tell my son to leave Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 10:13 pm
Dear Advicenators,
My son is 25. He has a BS degree in electrical engineering and a decent job. He has some student loans he is in the process of repaying. As caring parents we told him he could stay at home after graduation to get a heads up on paying extra on his loans and we would not charge rent or anything like that. It has been one year now and I am finding it stressful that he is home. He is very unappreciative of anything I do for him. He is also rude to us and disrespects our rules and wishes in our own home. Needless to say, he isn't paying any extra on his loans and I have to constantly remind him to pay them on time. He has lived on his own at college and I feel like it's time for him to be back out on his own ...

Hawaii Driver's Ed? Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 9:59 pm
I have a few questions about driver's ed on Oahu. So, what are the rules and regulations of those that have a driver's/learner's permit (and what's the difference between a driver's and a learner's?)? Do you need to have a person with a driver's lisence in the front seat with you? Or can he/she only a permit? I've been asking/google searching around but I'm not getting the answers I want... Please help, thank you.

This came right on the tail of having spent a wonderful get away weekend with my boyfriend who I have been with for 4 years and does everything in his power to show his love for me.

Exercise Posted Tuesday March 23 2010, 6:28 pm
My body has never known physical activity or healthy eating habits, until recently. I've lost 5 lbs in one week and I did it the healthy way, I ate and exercised. I think it's just because my body isn't used to this new lifestyle. Can anyone give me a good work out routine for the gym? We have an arm machine, elliptical, treadmill, weight machines, pretty much everything. I know that doing the same workout routine everyday causes muscle to form instead of burning fat, so if you could tell me two different routines to do that are about 1 and a half hrs long that'd be great. I'm aiming to lose 40lbs+ within the next 5-9 months. I'm 18F/219 lbs. THANKYOU!
