If you were asked to run in this thing then that probably means that you are a strong runner.. so heck yeah go for it, thatd be pretty awesome if you got a high ranking and showed the whole school what you can do, lol ya gota look at the bright side.

Well you got asked to run because you're a good and fast runner. You shouldnt be afraid of getting last place. It doesnt matter what place you get as long as you have fun. All that matters is having fun and enjoying yourself. So I think you should still run. And just have fun. So go for it.

It depends if you like running or not. If you're a fast runner, I don't see why you shouldn't. I'm sure there are slower people running the turkeytrot, and as long as you remember to pace yourself, I'm sure you'll do fine.
Even though it may seem bad, coming in last place in front of the whole school, its not that bad. If you run and do, just think of it as telling you to try harder next time. I think that if you like running you should go for it. What doesn't hurt you, might make you stronger, right? If you decide to run, I say good luck and be sure to have fun!

Yes...if you don't you're going to miss out on a GREAT opportunity. You don't know if you are going to get last place, and don't sweat it if you do. It's no big thing. Seriously...just try it out. If eventually you find that it's not your thing, then move onto another hobby - but don't back out of this because you're scared of losing or because you're scared of what people will think of you.

Hope you win! *wink and a thumbs up*

If your are a fast runner and you like running, go for it! I'm sure you won't fisish last. If you make it you're goal to do well, then you will.

I'm a runner too, and in one race, I was supposed to finish last. I ended up winning! So if you stick with it, you'll do fine.

of course you should still run, oh well if you lose you were asked and the other people watching you probably didn't therefore you are probably better then them anyway. Just think of it this way, if you are the winner, do you realize your school will love you so it's not a win lose situation its a win or act like it never happened situation. Good Luck Hon

Yup. People can't laugh at you if you're up there trying. It's better than what they're doing. And hey, with a cool name like turkeytrot, why wouldn't you want to?

Definitely.
Get out there and run as best as you can. All the people watching can't say a thing to you since you are running and they are not. At least you are trying.

Dear Should i run....
Do u like running??? Is it worth the chance?? Do u really think you will get in last place if u are fast?? Maybe you could try to convince one of your friends to run w/ u! If i were u, i would try it and if you place good maybe you could run for your school's track team! I am sure many other ppl feel the same way u do!

Signed,
Britt

Turc answered Monday December 1 2003, 1:44 pm:
Having the guts enough to run in front of the whole school and losing in front of the school are two different things. If you did happen to lose and someone made fun of you, they didn't even have the balls enough to run at all, so you're already a step ahead of them.

If you're a fast runner you already have that going for you, so why not try? I have faith in you and I don't even know you! :-D Best of luck to you if you decide to run!

Dear Should I Run,
If your embarrassed that you may get in last place, don't sweat it. Your running; and apparantly they aren't if they are just watching. Practice some good comebacks to say to them if they bug you about it. If it really bothers you, talk to your parents, school counselor, or teachers...they'll makes sure everything goes okay. If you are a fast runner- unless you are having a bad day, I am 99.9% sure that you won't be in last place at the end of the race. Just remember to PACE YOURSELF! :-)

Good Luck at the race!
