I love to compete in beauty pageants. I plan to run for Miss Indiana next year and hopefully win that title to go on to compete for either Miss America or Miss USA, so be watching out for me! Doing pageants has also been starting to get me into modeling. I've had a few offers here and there, but I'm not sure if it's what I would want to do yet, but I guess I'll just wait and see after I see more what's it's like.
I have a passion for writing. Poetry, songs, short stories, etc. I have been writing poetry since I can remember, literally. My mom has a writing talent as well, so I assume I got it from her. I'd love to eventually write full time for a magazine, like in the movie 13 Going on 30. That would be awesome!
I enjoy volunteering for nonprofit organizations, charities, and charity related events. I am a member of volunteermatch.org, which is a great website for people interesting in helping out people in need.

My natural hair colour is a very dark brown but I've been dying it for about a year.
A while ago I tried to dye my fringe hot pink, but it went wrong so it was bright ginger. I tried to dye all my hair chestnut brown to cover it up but the front was still lighter. I dyed it again a few months later but the front was still lighter than everywhere else.
I really want to get it back to my natural colour but the only way I can do that is by growing it out or using a colour stripping solution. I've never used one before and I'm not sure how badly it will damage my hair. I have very thick hair and all the dye hasn't really affected it, so I'm not sure whether or not that will make a difference. Any advice or suggestions on a colour I could dye it would be welcome.
If I were you, I'd go to a saln. They can do it right. Don't dye it yourself anymore for right now, especially with cheap home kits. You'll end up frying it! Get that taken care of professionally.
I've had contacts for over 4 years and I'm going to buy another year supply soon. I dont know which brand to get though. The one I have currently, sucks. I need something that stays in a long time and doesn't dry out. I've heard of Acuve Oasis, and I was wondering if anyone has tried it...what do you think of them? Oh and does anyone know any other different kinds of contacts that stay in for a long time and wont dry out? Thanks =)

Okay, I'm 16 years old and I've been getting my period for a really long time. Ever since I started getting my period, I've had a really, really heavy discharge between periods. It's really uncomfortable and I feel like it's abnormal. I literally have to wear a pad between periods because my discharge is so frequent. Is this normal, at my age, or is it something I should tell my gyno?

Your instincts sound like they are right, it isn't really normal to the degree in which you are experiencing. See the doctor right away and I'm sure it can be treated.
Ok, so I have always hated my highschool, and thought that everyone in it was a shallow dimwit! But I recently got advice to try to get to now some people, mingle & be social, and maybe Iäll start liking it more. Right, so I did. I started talking to these two guys, who are best friends, pretty popular and pretty much WANTED by every girl in school, but I just wanted to be friends, right..so I started talking to these guys for the first time yesterday, and it was just for 15 minutes, helping them study, but I felt an immediate attraction to both of them, one of them is outgoing, loud, charming..and oh so popular, and the other one is also pretty popular (because he's hott) but really shy, quite, and looks pretty insecure. Now, the thingh is the're both BEST FRIENDS, and I would never start flirting with two bff that could end up terrible! But I know I'm gonna start liking these guys, so I would like to decide WHICH ONE to like, and just go for him, flirt with him, instead of with both of them, because what if they both end up liking me..that could be terrible!! So how do you decide which one to like? And also, what would be hard is that they both like different type of girls, so its better to just focus on one of the guys..15/f thank you!
I know what it's like to be in your situation because lots of guys who are friends with each other like me and I end up having to choose between them.
I think that since you just met these guys, you don't really know them that well yet. Right now, you should just focus on getting to know them both as people and as friends, while keeping your crush for each of them to yourself, for now anyways. After a while, you might start liking one more than the other. So just wait a bit and get to know them first, and then if you start feeling for one over the other, then you might want to try flirting with him. Good luck!
So I have this friend I've had for a couple of years, and today we were in his room and he got a bit "touchy-feely" and kept asking for hugs and stuff. Usually he's not like this at all. Anyway, soon as I was about to leave he went to kiss me on the cheek.. and I kissed him on the lips.. not knowing he was just going for the cheeks. lol. We kissed for about 20 seconds, then I broke it off... and said goodbye and went home. Well I feel really weird about it now, partly because I enjoyed it and yet he's been a friend for a long time. I don't regret it though. But I'm the type of person who takes kissing someone pretty seriously.
I know this kind of thing is pretty common, and I shouldn't let it affect things between us. I don't really want a relationship right now. However.. not sure whether we should just let this go, put it behind us.. or whether we should do the whole "Friends with benefits" thing.

I think that friends with benefits hardly ever works out. Someone always gets attached, jealous, heartbroken, etc. And do you even know if that is what he wants? You might want to just straight up ask him how he feels about you, before you lead him on thinking that you want a relationship with him.

Yeah, you have to sey your age is 14 in order to go private. I don't know why that is...I think everyone should have the option, but anyways, yeah just do a search on "myspace layouts" and a bunch of sites should come up.
Okay so I met this guy at my cousins wedding reception two weeks ago. I had a really nice conversation with him and found out he has a good job and he similar values as me. When I got him alone he acted like a perfect gentleman and said all the right things.
My main concerns however are that he is 6 years younger than me (he is 22 and I am 28). I think he's still in his party phase. I'll let you be the judge. Well earlier he and his friends went upstairs to the bar in the hotel to pick up girls. He came downstairs and was bragging to everyone that he got the number off the hottest chick in the bar. Also he was hanging out with a guy who made a rude comment about an overweight girl.
I'm debating about whether or not to ask my cousin for his number (she gets back from her honeymoon tonight). I just wanted to ask your opinions first if you think he's relationship material.

You could probably date him lightly, but I know his type...he's most likely not willing to be in a real full blow relationship with just one person, especially since you two are five hours apart, he's probably not going to want to commit. Even if you did date him, it sounds like it would pose an issue with you being more mature than he is. I'm 21, and pretty mature for my age as well, and I'm tired of dating the typical early 20's college male who acts like that guy does. Which is why I'm not dating anyone under 24. Anyways, unless he drops hints of wanting a relationship, I wouldn't pursue him. You could probably still be friends with him though, and maybe if he matures in the next couple years, who knows, he could be boyfriend material by then.

ok i havent gotten my first period yet, and lately, like the past 2 days, my underwear have been really brown, like around the part my vagina touches. Its almost looks like, i pooped in my underwear, like that color(sorry lol), but I know thats not it becuase I clean "over there" very thoroughly. Is it discharge? Will i be getting my period soon? Yes periods often start out as a brownish color and yes, you should wear a pad.

No you can't make your breasts grow, but there's the alternative of a padded strapless bra. They have awesome ones at Victoria's Secret, but they can be pricey, so you might want to look in other stores too. Also, there are silicone pads that you insert into your bra to enhance the appearance of your breast size and/or cleavage. Most stores like Sears and JCPenny have them for around $20.

Don't pressure yourself. There's no need to. If you want to wait, then you can. There's no rush to get your permit. But what are you afraid of? It's really not that hard. Most permit test booklets are in sections...so if yours is, just read one section a night, to break it up and it won't seem like so much information. Good luck!

Well the truth is, it does just come natural. Most people are just like you, and believe they don't really knw what to do at first. But you just move your body to the beat and after a while, you get the hang of it. It's a high school dance. No one is going to be expecting you to dance like Beyonce. But if you're that self concience about it, practice in your room. Put in a CD or listen to your iPod if you have one, and just pretend like you are at the dance and watch yourself in the mirror. Pay attention to the dancers in music videos on TV too, that might help.

My brother had always been a very popular, very colourful, very fun outspoken person..
But yesterday, he came home..and went straight to bed (if you knew my brother you'd know there's definitely something wrong!) So I went in to his room, and he was asleep, and you could see that his pillow was wet from crying. But i decided he needed to go through it on his own. It would go over. But today he came home and did the same exact thing, so I went in to his room, and asked him about it (and he know's he can trust me, we usually tell eachother everything!) (by the way, I'm 15/f he's 13/m) and he just said "nothing, I'm tired" bt I wouldn't let go, and kept asking, telling him whatever it is, I'm here for him, I love him, he can trust me..and so on, and he just started crying, but wouldn't tell me, so I stayed for an hour in his room, next to him, and he wouldn't stop crying! He just started crying more and more, until he lost his breath. I'M SO WORRIED!! We both jst ended up sitting there crying..and I don't klnow what it could be, he usually tells me about his friend-problems, gf-problems, and I already know about all the family problems (trust me, our family is the family from HELL) but idk, what could it be? Why do you think he suddenly won't tell me what's going on with his life? What can I do to help him? Or to get him to open up?

He may just need a little bit of time. You might want to talk to your parents about it though if you're really worried, or ask one of his friends what they think could possibly be wrong. But don't try to pry too much.

okay.. so i really wanna be a model..
1 problem.. i'm 5'2" -- now i'm only 14.. my dad is a little taller than 6 foot and my mom is about 5'3".. now i don't know who i'll take after because i'm still short at 14.. but yet i already passed my mom is shoe sizes [she's an 8 and i'm a 10] and my fingers are way longer than hers.. so keep that in mind..
now.. i've heard so many different things about modeling such as.. commercial models [like one's for magazines and ads] don't have a required height and only runway and fashion models have to be 5'7" MINIMUM..
now i'm not DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.. but i'm not ugly, i have good skin, i have nice teeth, and i'm toning and sliming my body wonderfully
my questions are.. i want to do modeling for ads and magazines and like catalogs and stuff [kinda like what the girls on 8th & ocean do, minus the runway stuff].. are there height requirements or do i not even have a chance?.. i know MILLIONS of girls want to get into modeling.. but if you think about it, even more than MILLIONS of models are needed if you think about all the different products and catalogs out there that need the models.. and i don't even want the fame or popularity.. i just want to model and be able to make money but yet i don't want to have to have so much competition, since i'm so short and all, that i'm a reject who barely gets any work.. so i'm not sure if i don't have any chance at all..

I'm shorter too, and I've been getting modeling job offers. At your height, you could do petite modeling, which is the kind I do. You would be a petite commercial model. Runway and high fashion is out of the picture, unless you haven't hit your growth spurt yet. Now about the competitive nature of modeling, you are going to have it, no matter what. ALL models are rejected at some point, even the best like Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum are told no from time to time. There's no way to escape getting doors shut on your in this industry. The idea of modeling is to keep trying until you do get a yes. The more you try, the better your chances.
What you should do is get two photos of you: One head and shoulders shot, and one full body shot. They don't have to be professional pictures. Just regular snapshots will do. Send them into agencies. Avoid the scams though!!! Modeling *schools* such as Barbizon, John Robert Powers, and John Casablanca are NOT agencies nor are any places that ask for a sign up fee. Real agencies will/should train you for free, remember that. Now, send your photos into agencies, any agencies, as many as you can. If they like you, they should call you back for an interview within 2-4 weeks. You are young, and you might still be growing, so I'll warn you that they might tell you to come back next year or something. Oh and you might have your parents' permissions and signatures since you are under 18, so be sure they agree to let you do this. You DO have a shot, but it will be hard! But if you're serious and want this bad enough, you'll be willing to work for it and do what you need to do. Good luck and if you need any more help, advice, or tips, I'm here!
Recently i have been thinkign about getting blonde highlights. I've seen many people with highlights, but some people have few highlights, or a lot, or highlights that appear to be wider (i guess lol)but the kind of highlights that i want to get are all over liek i DONT want to see a TON of my natural color liek you do in this picture:

Tell them you want a full-head highlight in thin streaks. They will know what you mean. Possibly bring a picture of what you want done just in case, or ask if they have any there, some do. Chances are, they'll ask you if you want a 'foil' (which tends to be more expensive, but looks nicer) or the 'pull-through cap' method. I'd go for the cap first. But beware, full highlights can be pretty expensive anyway. Then when your roots start to show, after 6 weeks and you want it touched up, go in and get a '7-foil-highlight' (that's what they call it here anyway) just to touch up your roots. You won't need a full job again because they will overdo it. Good luck!
my boyfriend just confessed to me another girl kissed him and he didn't stop her. I was really mad at first, but then I realized i have no right to be. You see, we're in a internet relationship and not meeting till late this year. I guess it's understandable that if someone in the flesh comes along and kisses you, you're not going to stop them. I think I would do the same too, admittedly. Everyone I've spoken to though thinks I should be madder than I am, because he cheated on me. I guess i'm a pretty laid-back person. We care about each other a lot, but I understand why he did it. I feel I should be mad at him for cheating though. I still want to go out with him, but everyone is telling me to break up with him. What should I do? And am I being too nice on him?

Cheating is cheating, and if he's going to do it now, he could do it again, especially after how he's seen easily you are forgiving him for it. Maybe it's not that big of a deal to you because you haven't met him yet, so it's almost like he's not really real to you. Of course you know he's real, but there's the whole factor of meeting someone that makes it seem even more real. But when you meet and if you really start to like or even love him, the reality might set it that he cheated on you and I can see you hurting all over again, and possibly even more intensely than now. And you'll be worried if he's going to do it again, as you should be. If you want things to work out, you'll have to be firm with him that you don't like him kissing other girls, unless you both decide to not be exclusive bf/gf until you actually meet, that way he won't be compelled to cheat. I think that's a good idea anyways, because in my opinion, you should at least meet a guy and get to know him in person before you go and call him your boyfriend. I've done the internet relationships too, and believe me what I say that people aren't always what they seem.
