antibiotics && drinking.
okay so i started taking antibiotics last saturday and finished taking them yesterday. i know that you're not supposed to drink alcohol when taking antibiotics but do you think it's safe to drink tonight? remember: i finished taking them yesterday.
and i'm of legal drinking age so don't lecture me about that.

Drinking while on antibiotics decreases the effectiveness of them. Most will say you can drink 24 hours after you take the last dose. Some, it might be longer. Just to play it safe, I usually like to wait 2 or 3 days after the last dose, since antibiotics are still working even after you've finished them. That's just a general rule I follow. I know you posted this yesterday, but for the future, call either your doctor or pharmacist. They'll be able to tell you if it's ok or not.

Well i think that you arent supposed to drink within 24 hours of taking a drug. Right? I could be wrong. But check in with your doctor.

I think it would be ok... if you know you're going to get shit-faced, you might want to make sure with your doctor but if you're just going to have a beer or 2, i'm almost posative you will be fine. <3

It depends on what kind of antibiotic and whether it's still in your system.
Metronidazole is a very caustic antibiotic, and may be the one you've been taken since they always have "do not drink alcohol while taking this medication" posted all over the vials.
I had to take it many times a while back, and the reason for the postings is because you can get very very sick. As in, throwing up every half hour or more, if it is mixed with alcohol.
Your best bet would be to call your doctor and ask... oh wait, it's saturday, so... um... hmm... well, a doctors advice would be best. so, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Well i am not a doctor so can not advice you on what to do if your unsure then call the medical 24 hous a day helpline they can give you more accurate information as i'm not sure what kind of antibiotics you have taken. Read the information provided with the medication does it have anything on alchol and when you should drink.

I did some research for you and it's actually okay to drink while on antibiotics, except if you're taking Metronidazole. Only in very rare cases is there side effects. But since you've finished them anyway, you're totally fine. I'd recommend you'd drink in moderation though just since you've been sick, presumably. But you don't need that lecture from me.. lol.
