Well I have highlights exactly how you discribed the ones you want so this is how I tell my hairdresser what i want: blonde highlights that are not chunky and i want to see more of the hilighted color than my natural color and then you also want to tell him/her what shade of blonde to want (dark, light, faded)and hopfully your hairdresser will get what your saying and do what you want.
Hope I helped!!

Bring in the picture to the stylist that you would like. You trying to explain it might not get the proper message across. Print that picture out and take it with you when you go to the salon. Show your stylist and ask for his/her opinion. Bringing the picture can only help in making the style even more fabulous.

Tell them you want a full-head highlight in thin streaks. They will know what you mean. Possibly bring a picture of what you want done just in case, or ask if they have any there, some do. Chances are, they'll ask you if you want a 'foil' (which tends to be more expensive, but looks nicer) or the 'pull-through cap' method. I'd go for the cap first. But beware, full highlights can be pretty expensive anyway. Then when your roots start to show, after 6 weeks and you want it touched up, go in and get a '7-foil-highlight' (that's what they call it here anyway) just to touch up your roots. You won't need a full job again because they will overdo it. Good luck!

thats streaks. I have highlights, I got a half a head, it doesn't make your hair look too blonde, but you can still see some of your natural hair color. a full might make it look like you dyed your hair. bring that picture to your hairdress and explain what you want and make sure you tell her/him that you do not want that. good luck and I hope you like your highlights
