I've been singing for about 3-4 years now, and I've always been an Alto (I'm a female, by the way).
My voice isn't that great though (in my opinion), even though I've been singing for a long time.
I have a vibrato (For those of you that don't know, that's when your voice shakes a bit when you sing. I can control it, though). My question is, is there any way I can improve my voice and make it higher, like to a second Soprano?

I have been singing all my life, and What worked for me, is that i practiced alot and each time id try to sing harder songs and songs with higher notes, i even practiced when i was sick. Try to slowely go higher, even if you have to sing softly and then once you reach the highest you can get, sing a little louder and louder and louder and eventually youll get higher..I was a low alto and not im a soprano, so it worked for me, hopefully it will work for you, and dont drink soda or milk or anything, dairy and fizzy drinks affect your voice, drink water or flavored water. You could even get singing lessons if you wanted. But you dont have to be a soprano to sound good, altos sound great too...but just keep working at it.. I hope I helped! good luck..

Wow, Im a singer too (and want to be when im older)and I used to have the same problem. ok first Sing by yourself, Then start singing in a mirror. Then once your cool with that sing in the car with you parents, then once your fine sing along with friends. soon you'll be singing everywhere you go and youll love it. But you have to have confidence. Once you are ok with all that, try out for a talent show. youll be singing in front of people in no time!

well i went to a concer like 2 days ago and i was in the mosh pit and i got thrown on stage...
i stood up and the band had stopped playing and everyone was staring at me...i feld so embarassed. but then i saw my bf in the front row and i started singing the song that they were playing... so they started playing the song again and i was up their the whole show..
the band called me the next day and asked me and my band to come with them on tour... my band is called the audio switch.
should i go on tour with them and miss the whole summer hangin wid my friends or play punk rock music with mental riot on tour?!?!?!

Omg. do the tour! thats crazy! and exciting! your going to be able to hang with your friends another time, but to do a tour, is something that you might not get another chance at. I love making up my own songs and singing them..the problem is, when i write them down, they look so retarded and then I forget the tune and everything screws up..my question is, how do you write lyrics that match with the tunes? I would love to be a singer one day but that won't happen because I'm asian, but whatever..um what are some tips for writing song lyrics and thinking of tunes? Thanks..I rate
Try setting up a band. or if your handy with an instrument, play the instrument and record it. then listen to it and hopefully lyrics will pop into your head while your listening to it and it will go with the beat. then take another tape recorder and play the imstrumental and sing so on one recorder you have the instrument and on the other you have both, and tada! you have a song! but if you dont play an instrument, just do the same thing except hum or w/e you do to make the beat/tune. Try to make the songs about your life/feelings, it comes easier that way and its fun! I'm sure you can do anything if you put your mind to it and try your hardest, even if your asian, race and color shouldnt matter. I hope I helped! tell me how it works out! ♥

I'm going on a trip late this month. I don't want to bring my Ipod, but I'm downloading songs then burning them on disc to take as cds. What songs are great for long rides and what songs do you feel are essential? It's a 4 hr ride to the one place, then 1 1/2 hr ride to the hotel, and like a 3 1/2 hr ride home.

Split apart the song, like you do the first verse and then both do the chorus then have her do the second verse and both do the chorus and then split up the rest etc so they can hear what you sound like together and apart.Duet for a Solo tryout?? they might make you sing alone, but i dont know because i dont know about what this thing is.

13/f I've been playing th epiano for 4 years, i have to admit, I'm gettin pretty good at it, but I HATE IT!!!!!!! I've hated it since maybe 2 years ago, but my parents always say: "oh, your getting better" or "the piano teacher will be so upset if you quit". But now, I've just about had it, and my parents are like; give it a chance, one more lesson, but when they do that they'll tell the teacher i wanna quit, and he gets all nice and easy....ugh I HATE IT.
I've always been interested in the drums or guitar....something not very easy, but new to learn. If I do quit though, this'll be a load to drop on my parents [they're the sort of classical, act professional, ivy-league-for-you parents, plus I'd have to get the instruments somewhere!!!!
I just asked my parents a minute ago to quit, and they got all "stop being a teenager....ugh" and "one more lesson" how can I FIRMLY tell them I want to quit, without all this other crap coming up? And how hard is it to play the drums? either question, I'LL LOVE YOU IF YOU ANSWER IT!!
Ok so go up to your parents and sit them down and say " listen, I dont like playing the piano. Its not what I like. I kno you like it and you say im good, but its just not for me. I dont enjoy it and I really want to play drums or guitar. Piano is just not my thing. I know it will take hard work and effort to play the drums or guitar but im committed to it. one of my dreams has been to become a singer but my parents say that if i dont sing in like a talent show at my school then they wont sign me up for anything.. the talent show passed and i didnt try out because i had something else planned for the date that they made the talent show.. ok so ALL my friends tell me that im an amazing singer and stuff ( i dont want to sound concided ) but i dont think im terrible ! any ways.. how can i get my parents to let me go to auditions and signups and stuff.. what can i do to follow this dream ? .. thanks in advance- i rate! :-)

Try asking your parents if you could take singing lessons...and if your school has anything like musicals or something go to see them AND try out for them. I love to sing too...
