"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love" - Albus Dumbledore

Hi, I'm Laura. I'm a senior in college & I'm slowly deciding what I want to do with my life. I love Harry Potter, coffee, writing, and sleeping (amongst other things). I'll never claim to know everything, but I'm confident in my ability to help people with their problems. Feel free to send me an inbox question; I'll get back to you!

A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

BU 2014 :)

advice

Hey guys,
I don't know If anyone will be able to help me but I'm dying to get a good penne pollo recipe!
It's like this creamy chicken pasta dish.. the sauce isn't too thick or heavy its different to a carbonara. I know there is garlic in it chicken and penne pasta that is about it lol.
There is this restaurant I love that does it..but I would find it rude asking for the recipe!
Does anyone have any recipes or ideas for it? I tried to make it on instinct and it went very wrong!
Google doesn't have some great results so I came here :)
Any help would be appreciated.

Recipe sites like Allrecipes.com, food.com, and recipezaar.com would be good places to look.

The recipes often have comments and feedback from people who cook them, and they often provide their own suggestions such as "if you like (insert popular restaurant's dish here) you should double the garlic" or whatever.

If it's a popular/chain restaurant (basically, not a single diner down the street) try doing a Google search of "[restaurant name] [entree name] recipe" like "Cheesecake Factory Cajun Jambalaya Pasta Recipe". This will get you copycat recipes, suggestions, and sometimes the actual companies will give you a recipe for a certain part of the dish.

Many nutrition pages of popular chains now list ingredients, so try investigating the company website. They may even sell their sauces/dressings in a local store - a few restaurants do that from where I live, and many are small chains (as in one location). It's definitely worth looking into.

An added bonus of making it yourself is that you can alter the ingredients to make it healthier, if you so choose. For example, you could use low-fat cheese or reduced fat milk, or leave out an ingredient you hate (I always leave out capers, those things are disgusting...)

Have fun experimenting with recipes!
