I am a mother of four and none of my children will eat vegetables or fruit. The oldest is 13 and the youngest 7. I fed them vegetables and fruit in baby food as yound children, but they just don't like it now. I was the same as a child and so I didn't push them. However, while they're not unhealthy, I'd like them to start eating at least a bit more healthily, what with all this stuff going around about overweight kids and cholestrol, etc etc etc. So, my question is: does anyone have any recipies or ideas to make fruit and vegetables tasty and fun?
Also, my thirteen-year-old just got braces and can't eat anything hard for a few days, so I was wondering if it would be safe for to eat baby food? I know it has nothing added to it but I was just wondering if it was OK for a 13 year old to eat that and only that (obviously with drinks, and different varieties of the food) for three or four days?
Also, my friend has suggested using baby food or vegetable pureè as pasta sauces. Do you think this would work?

I'm te same way. I don't eat my vegetables, but I do get my 3 servings of fruit daily. My secret? Juice. i know that there's this infomercial out for the Jack LaLaine Power Juicer. you can makea juice with broccoli in it, just add watermelon and it tastes like watermelon. Maybe baby food, but the puree sounds disgusting, but it may work for your youngest child. Good luck!

ok hi. ok so i usually sit with my friends at lunch but i have a couple friends who i dont sit with. they r in one of my classes . they had asked if i would like to sit with them and they are like " sit with us!!" and its really cool that they are my friends and all but i dont necessarily want to sit with them. i like the people im sitting with now. what do i say to them in the nicest possible way? please help! thanks a bunch

Hey I'm the person who asked the question about the fat stomach..lolll and you said my organs might retain water or something..do you know anything else about that?? I think that could be whats happening right now..thankssss

I don't, my friend is actually in the hospital for it and it's really serious, she also might have cancer though. I would suggest an MRI or go to your doctor. Good Luck!!

P.S. If you can drink water and then pee it out, I don't think you have this :), but it's always worth investigating!! I'm no doctor!

One of my old friends' never talked about guys. Like, we would be on the fone, and i would be talking about the guy i liked, and shed kinda just, "push away" the subject. She always said she never likes anyone, and she dosent think that anyone is "cute" or "Hot". I think thats kind of weird. Then one day, we were talking online, and she told me she was a lesbian. It was really awkward, and i really started to believe her, and then when i saw her the next day at school, she was like "omg that was hilarous last night! i was joking!"....I dont know but this kind of looks strange to me..Any ideas on why she might not like to talk about guys? oh by the way..i dont want to talk or ask her about this. thanks!

There are two options:

a) She is a lesbian and didn't like your reaction so she is afraid of jeopardizing your relationship so she isn't saying much.

b) She is secretive. I am the same way, I don't talk about guys I like to people who I see more than once a month and I never kiss and tell or anything like that. In 3rd grade, I liked a guy and a 'friend' told him. M aybe that happened to your friend. I know that that's why I'm secretive!!

Hi. Well, next year I'll be in the 8th grade, and I want to start a new club for females. I want to have leadership and be a good role model fo other people, and I feel that this is the perfect school year and grade to do this and this is the right opportunity to do that. Anyways, do any of you guys have names for this female club and things we should do. Ok so finally after a month of being 16, im going to get my permit. My only problem is i havent studdied the book since my birthday . I got the book 2 weeks before my bday and studdied it up to my bday, but since then i havent studdied it..now i cant find the book.
My question : Is the permit test for New York hard? Do you think i will be able to pass based on common sense? What questions do they ask? Should i wait more and take it some other time? Today is a good day though because im off from school...its hard to take it because the place that gives the test is open mon-fri and the latest test they give is at 3 or something..im so busy with sports and school this seems like a good day..but maybe i should wait..i dont know?

I live in Ca;ifornia, and my dad got his license in New York so I've heard it all!! :)

Most of the stuff is common stuff. If you google New York DMV (or whatever you call it) then it should give you practice tests!

Every year i have a friend party. This year i want to have something rly cool and i want to have like eveyone there. The only thing is i know a theme might b totally nerdy but i need some ideas for my party. Like games we can play and stuff we can do. I have a rly big backyard so i want to have it there. I don't know if your friends (guys especially) would do this, but you could have a fashion party. You could build a runway in your backyard and make up fake designers and have everyone bring clothes to trade at the 'shoot' and have someone just photograph, and give everyone all the pictures!! That would be hilarious, as I'm imagingin my friends who did something like that today...

My boyfriend and i have been going out for a while now and he wants to do more things then hug/hold hands.. he wants to kiss/make out and i have never done that before.. so my question is how do you actually make out and what do ou do with your tongue and mouth thanks i rate 5's

Kissing is something intimate, and it isn't the same for every person. You could try some websites that offer sex techniques, but I don't really think anyone can answer that question except for you.

Today in English we were reading some story about something to do with someone having a disability wanting to play golf. He had trouble walking and had to use a cart to get around to the hole while everyone else had to walk (obviously I wasn't paying much attention). But, towards the end of class my teacher brought up a good point about what the word "fair" meant to us.

Her question was, "Is being fair treating everyone equally, or giving lea-way to those with disabilities so they can be like everyone else.

I was wondering what it meant to you guys.

I think it is a combination of both. I think that if you are running a race with someone who is in a wheelchair, you should let them get a head start. If you are taking a test with someone who is blind, then they should get audio of some sort to help them do their best on their test. I also think that you should only 'accomodate' them once in a while, or else they'll become dependent on the changing of rules and they'll never learn to play fairly.

whats summer school like? i think i might have to go this year, it'll be my first, no duh. im in 8th grade. and its probably diffrent throughout the country/world, but any one answer please. and if your from georgia and specifically north fulton county then answer my question cause thats where i am.

Hi! I live in California, but the concept is the same, to my knowledge!!

Summer school is for people who did not recieve a passing grade in an academic class. The way our summer school works is you have two classes for 2 hours Monday through Thursday, and it's for 6 weeks.

If you raise your grade, you might be able to evade summer school!

Well there is this guy that i really like and he likes me. He even broke up with his girlfriend for me. He always tells me about how much he loves me and everything. He is .perfect.!, but there is one problem..AGE. His mom won't let him date me bcause he could go to jail. Some of his friends have been giving him hell about it too. Others say we should hookup. His best friend is trying to tell him he wont go to jail. I really love him, what should i do!?

Dating isn't illegal. Hugging, kissing, and any kind of sex are in most states. This is called statuatory rape if he does any of these things, and he could go to jail. I don't see the point of a relationship if you are paraniod over what you can and cannot do, so if I were you, I would not date him. If you are really in love, he'll be there when you become of age.

hi...i really need help. i am on a dance team and they told me that i had to lose weight. this was about a year and a half ago. right when they told me that i had to lose weight to stay on the team i started getting ideas that i was too fat. and now i think im fatter than fat. so during that i year i decided to skip a meal to see if that would help but then i started to skip 2 meals and now im not eating at all. my best friend keeps saying that im anorexic but i dont want to believe it and i dont think its true. either way i am really scared because im losing weight really fast and all but i dont want to lose it this way and im scared that im going to die or something. i dont want to tell my parents so i dont scare them so what do i do......PLeASE HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are anorexic. I'm sorry that your dance team was so unrealistic. I am 100% sure that you look sexy and pretty and amazing! All I can say is talk to a counselor or im me anytime at igotamonopoly, I'm always on. Talking this through will help. I can empathize, I tried not eating for a week or two, didn't work for me. Also, not eating will make you gain MORE weight, once you do start eating. All you have to do is exercise nad eat in moderation. Good luck!!

Sometimes I think that dancing rules my life. I take a very rigid, strict class where everything must be "just so" and I can't do anything when I want to. One day when my friend tied a friendship bracelet around my wrist, my dance teacher saw it and personally cut it off my wrist so I wouldn't wear it again. Also, when I want to try a sport like soccer or basketball, my dance teacher is the one who refuses to let me, saying that I will twist something or break something and I wouldn't be able to dance. My parents just stand around saying "Listen to what she says, dear. Listen." Now I really want to get some gentle highlights in my hair and my parents said yes at first, but they changed their minds when my dance teacher said no. What do I do?

That's very ridiculous. I would quit dance and go somewhere else. And, I would save my $$ and just do it. What can your teacher do? You pay her, and remember that!!

Hey. I was wondering if anyone knew a site or somewhere I can find informatin about the average weighted and unweighted gpas of high school valedictorians and salutatorians.
If not, can you tell me what you *think* the average is?

i'm positive the valedictorian is a 4.0 minimum, most likely a 5.0 or 6.0, if your school offers AP classes. I don't know about any other academic awards.
