I came here to answer computer questions. (This used to say "...and nothing more.")

What I meant was, I don't know how much help I would be with other things... NOT that I would be upset if you asked a non computer question!

No matter the subject, Ask Away! (I'll do my best.)

Is it normal to not get sparks or feel anything at all when I kiss my boyfriend? When we first kissed I felt something but that was it. Anyone else know what I mean?? (link)
Hi there,

This was asked twice, please see answers on the other copy here:

Please also note: You weren't logged in to your account when you asked these, so you will not be getting an e-mail when it is answered.

Please make sure to be logged in when you ask questions.

do u fancy a bum ? (link)
Again, what does this mean?

In America it would mean you were in love with a homeless man. Homeless = bum in this culture.

does anyone fancy a bum??????????????????xxxxxxxx (link)
Could you please rephrase the question.

If the question is not: "Is anyone in love with a homeless person?"

... then you should probably rephrase. ;-)

Listen DangerNerd,

I really am sick and tired of hearing your bullshit, At this point I really could care less if you banned all my accounts. My patience with you has been hanging by a thread for quite awhile now. You have a shitty way of handling situations and a damn shitty way of running a website for this matter. Your website is based on giving "Advice" but somehow one way or another you lure in little preteens asking advice about "How to have sex, Am I pregnant" nice one! I must give you a nice high five on that one. Your attitude sucks, I'm not the only one. ;) I shall put in the word to others that your site is one hell of a fuck up. Also, I mind as well state I AM on my medication! ;) Go ahead and do what you wish, Your words haven't gotten nowhere with me, Nor did they ever.

Fuck you, Fuck your moderators and Have a nice life. (link)
I posted your "fan mail" in the mod forums so the other mods would get the message too.

I would like to thank you for the laugh. No question the funniest hatemail in my inbox this week.

That you thought you were so much better than adviceman49 that you tried to run him off the site or get him to change the way he does things is the biggest LOL I have ever had on this site.

"...Your words haven't gotten nowhere with me, Nor did they ever."

So when you melted down in the mod forum last time and you promised you would stay on your meds and be nice to people... you were lying? Now there is a shock.

To think, we all voted and we let you stay because we felt sorry for you.

Please take your insanity elsewhere.

there is a website that i dont want to be connected to at all two of them excatly 1 called topix and the other called blogcritics i want to be disconnected to them on all computers blocked or not blocked please tell me how (link)
You would need to add the site to the blocked site list on your router.

The instructions will be different for every router, but if you find the brand and model you can type something like this into Google:

how to block website [router model number]

... obviously replace [router model number] with your router info.

there is a website i want to lose connection to blocked or not blocked but i still want to have the internet and the site is called topix what can i download to lose connection to it please help me (link)
You can block your access to any site you like.

You can do it in your web browser or the hosts file on your computer.

Instructions for both are here:

http://www.delete-computer-history.com/how-to-block-a-website.html

If you want to block a website on a Mac computer, please follow the advice here:

http://osxdaily.com/2010/04/21/how-to-block-a-website-from-safari-firefox-or-chrome/

there is a website called topix which i visted back in 2008 and 2009 and now i want to shut it down but what can i download to get it shut down (link)
Hi there,

Topix is a pretty unpleasant place but shutting it down isn't going to happen. Free speech is a big thing in this country, so they will stay open.

Besides that, if you were to try and shut it down, you would be thrown in jail for very long time... and the site would still be up. Not worth it if you ask me.

is there anything you can download to shut down a website (link)
Hi there,

That would be a federal crime. You can be put in prison for 25 years to life.

If the site is doing something bad, there are legal ways to get the site shut down.

If you ask another question: Please put a link to the site and the reason why you think it should be shut down.

Not a question.

You said when your fiance killed himself it was hard on those he left behind. granted. You said his problems are only temporary. Tell that to the homeless person living in a box who used to have a job and home. It isn't always temporary! Sometimes it just gets worse and worse. It may be hard on those left behind but you can't imagine how hard it is on those of us who are miserable here. It may be selfish to want to end the constant pain, torment and struggle but don't you think it's selfish to want someone to endure that? (link)
Hi there,

The person you meant to send this to doesn't allow inbox questions from anonymous users, so the question came to me by default.

If you write me directly and let me know who you were wanting to see this, I will bring it to their attention.

In the mean time, may I share something of my own?

The homeless person living in a box... no job, no home... Well, if that is the worst that will happen to them, then they have a great deal to be grateful for. Why?

I have personally worked with the homeless, and a surprising number find their way back from the street. All it takes, usually, is time, and someone to help with the first steps.

I don't know what form of misery you speak from when you say: "...those of us who are miserable here."

... but, I hope you know that there are people who really do want to help. For me, here is what I can offer from experience:

Darkness is a funny thing. It seems to be able to convince us that when we see light we are just imagining it. That things can't get better because all we can see is darkness.

I found, during the darkest period of my life, that service to others takes that power away from the darkness.

Spend a day feeding the homeless and you will find that the life you just described as worthy of suicide is one that many people enjoy as best they are able.

The most inspiring things I have seen come from people you may have already written off. Example:

There is a homeless shelter in San Diego. One homeless man volunteered to feed others in his situation, feeling that he might not have money but he had good hands and a work ethic so maybe he could help.

This didn't go unnoticed and since then he has had several jobs, a home and currently runs the shelter that used to keep him alive.

Sometimes we can't control what happens to us, but the thing that helped me more than I can say is understanding that we CAN choose how to react to the things that happen to us.

My wife walked out of my life 3 days before our 10th anniversary. She said she was going to a doctor's appointment with her mother and she would be right back. She told me she loved me, smiled on the way out the door... And I have, to this day, years later, never seen her again.

The reasons behind everything turned out to be things I wasn't aware of. It took six months to find out the truth, and in those six months the darkness had a pretty firm hold on me at first.

I could very easily have ended my own life.

Turns out that the best thing in the world was my now ex-wife leaving. Changed my world entirely, and the period of darkness is simply a tool to get a person to wake up to what their future holds.

I urge you to talk with someone about all of this. The truth of the matter is that VERY rarely is any darkness permanent... but if we don't know how to face it, it can look like an eternal thing. It isn't.

I have seen people come through incredibly painful cancers. Sometimes when the doctors have given up, the darkness clears and there is remission.

If people can live through that, I will not dishonor their courage by letting the trifles that trouble me keep me down.

I hope this makes sense the way it is written here, and if you have questions I hope you will write me directly in the future.

Perhaps if you tell me what you are facing I will know a way to help. Stranger things have happened.

Russell...

what is my name? (link)
Sorry,

If you don't know your own name, we can't help you.

you are 14 do you have any one to help you

(link)
Not exactly sure what you are asking here.

Almost everyone has someone in their life to help them. Sometimes we don't want or take help from the people who are best able to assist us.

Please rephrase your question.

I am expierencing the same pains , have you found out anything. (link)
Hi there,

The user you asked this to doesn't accept questions from users that aren't logged in, so it came to me.

If you link me to the question that you are talking about, I will look into it for you and see if I can get the person to answer you.

I hope we can help you,

DN.

I'm looking for a story/poem/limerick that had a line in it "she went into the cellar to sweep the upstairs room". My dad used to tell it to me and we can't remember it.
Thanks

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima with two types of security systems. One is the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System-NVIS and the second is a Vehicle Security System. My question is regarding disconnecting the battery. If I disconnect it, will the alarms go off? When I go to reconnect the battery, will all the computer memories and alarms be the same and work properly? I also have keyless entry. (link)
Hi there,

This really depends on the reason for disconnecting the battery. If you are changing the battery, then you are OK to have an alternate power source to retain your computer data.

If you need the system completely dead to change an electronic component, then I suggest you let your mechanic do this.

If you are just changing the battery then there is a special memory keeper that you can buy and plug into your lighter socket:

"12V Automotive Settings Keeper w/9V Battery - Keep Your Personal Settings When Replacing Your Car Battery!"

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=GK504&cat=GDT

... this is a life saver. It is cheap, and very helpful if you know what you are doing and get it done quickly.

I use mine with a 12V gel cell battery instead of the 9-volt battery they suggest.

Another tip if you ARE going to use the 9vdc battery: BUY A HIGH QUALITY ONE and forget about the cheapy that comes with it.

Heyy, I'm looking into doing a research project and need some advice to help me figure out if it is worth moving foawrd with. I'm going to test the project on here, so please the more people that answer the better! it's super easy!

I just want to know if there are certain sodas you specifically dnt like because of the amount of fizz. whether it has too much or too little and what those drinks are.

and would you prefer if their were lines of soda that had light fizz and heavy fizz?? or would that be too many choices and/or annoying.

basically im trying to think of problems with soda so I can evaluate them. if you can give me any of your personal advice on these issues id REALLY appreciate it. this seems dumb, i know, but it's very important to me. thank you and i will rate!(: (link)
Coke definitely has too much carbonation for me.

I have doubts about people having the option of various carbonation levels. I can't see the soda companies doing it.

If there were lines that advertised lower carbonation levels, I would be more likely to try them than others.

As for problems with soda, I have one for you:

Sodium Benzoate.

There are so many things wrong with ingesting this preservative, and yet it is almost impossible to find a soda without it.

Some people have horrible problems that they don't even know are caused by this additive.

Here is a question asked by a girl who wanted to kill herself because her reactions were so bad and she had no idea:

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=582757

... turns out if she stops taking in sodium benzoate, her problems will get better. This is just one example.

As a note: The best soda I ever had was RC's Royal Crown Draft Cola.

All natural, light carbonation, no preservatives... and tasty like you wouldn't believe. Sadly it was a limited run and discontinued a quite a while back.

If they remade that, I would have a hard time not living on it. :-)

I hope your project goes well.
